Wait times are still long and matchmaking is still bad.
I've been playing for the past hour with waiting times of around 10 - 15 mins to find a lobby.
And the MMR is very bad. I was rank 4 and kept getting low rank players who played AWFUL.
The last hour has not been fun at all. Why should I keep playing this game when it is consistently a bad experience for me?
During the day it's not as bad because there are more people playing but as soon it starts to get late I start having these issues. It's clear that less and less people are playing this game.

MMR matchmaking isn't turned on. You're just getting whatever the game says you get. Also my queue times are trash for survivor but amazing for killer right now. There aren't less people playing there are more people playing survivor.

game needs more killers, but does everything it can to drive them away

You're not entirely wrong... I guess the only incentive for killer is more points. I find survivor to be a super relaxed role for me.

Did you? I mean, last night I faced a Rank 17 Steve who, I noticed in the endgame screen, had Tier 3 for all four of his perks: Borrowed Time, Unbreakable, Decisive Strike, Iron Will.
Yeah, Rank 17 my ass.

I've recently been getting yellow ranks mixed in with the red and purple ranks in my games, and the yellow ranks seem to be either complete noobs or better than the red ranks, People taking breaks from the game or deranking likely cause this, but whats the point in the rank based matchmaking if it just puts high and low together.

Yeah, not only putting low and high together, but also the ease of de-ranking combined with the reset each month. That system is one thing if it's only about bragging rights and a rank reward, but when you use it for MM, it becomes a major issue.
I've no clue why they would have designed their MM around that, when even on paper a game design student should have noticed the glaring issues. I'm saying this as someone that was in the game industry for 14 years.

It doesn’t help that playing killer on console atm with the horrendous frame rate is infuriating. After nearly three years of maining killer on PS4 I now generally only play survivor. The slideshow causes me to get a headache. The 30 page post here about console FPS leads me to believe that I am not the only console killer that has basically given it up aside from dailies and rift.
