Why I Dislike 3-Person SWF Teams Even More than 4-Person
I'm not a fan of SWF; I'm open about my bias. I think it would be fine if they were in their own Que, and something was done to balance the 5th Perk (Comms) that every SWF team gets. I've suggested they need one more Generator to open the gate, and/or a 5th Perk for Killers. All that being said, I'm keeping an open mind and hope the upcoming release (including Blight Perks) will help address the situation. Still, I will fight a SWF reluctantly. I say that I'm reluctant because I've reached a Rank where all I seem to fight are Reds and Greens. There are no casual SWF teams at these Ranks. As the Entity (Nea) would say, "Meh."
But what I hate more than anything is a dealing with a 3-Person SWF that comes into a Lobby and then is joined by some poor guy/gal. Why? They treat that person like a meat shield, and consider said person entirely expendable. I know this is a generalization, and there are exceptions. But after a LOT of games and seeing this, I can honestly say I pity the poor Solo who gets stuck with them. I'm almost to the point of trying to make sure that is the sole survivor that I carry to the damn hatch every time.

It's that whole... 4th guy that's slight unpredictable in this situation. They can either work gens alone or with another. Or work the killer in loops. While 3 swf work together that other you just cant get a feel for.
That said. I'm often that solo player. I do things away from the group majority. I'll only help if it looks dire for that team mate. I'm usually the 1 3rd out or survived. It does get frustrating. Since there's those who crap on the solo and we Are expendable compared to the friend they survive with. But I personally do whatever it takes to survive my own self. Correct any situation the team mate done to me. Intentional or not.

I agree with you 100%. Being a solo with a 2 or 3 man swf your looked at as the random which is rude cause your a teammate nonetheless I mean just because someone is solo queuing doesnt mean they're bad players let alone expendable. When in all reality your better than them when going solo then they are as a group which is why people do swf because they dont have abilities as a solo or they think their teammates will suck cause it's not swf. As an experienced and only solo survivor since I've played dbd I can say I've had dream teams numerous times and have confidence in my abilities as a solo survivor. It's a grand time and sometimes not but there's never expectations when I play only hopefulness.

Not true. Made it to r1 as a solo survivor. It took a long time but got there and I stay there till this day.

The 3 man sfw is not really much different to the 2 or the 4. I don't reckon people queue in fully planning to ruin 1 other survivors fun, or at least plan to do it often enough its an issue
Myself, i play with 1 or 2 friends so that i know im with competent teammates. I know that if i get into a chase they're gonna be on gens. And theh know I'd do the same. Its hilarious cuz i can see whos my friends the moment im hooked cuz half the time the 4th "random" I's just crouched somewhere
Since I play in 2/3mans i can't really fault others for doing it themselves. And final note, of course people prioritize there friends over randoms. Its every man for themselves, and that random meg can't complain to me about leaving them, but my friends do, so i save them more often

Definitely not a must. I have played this game 29 months now and been a r1 22 months. I play 99 % of my games solo and 1 % in 2-man SWF with no comms. In addition to that I always play with 3 perks since WGLF is always in my build. My survival rate is about 66 %. And I never use keys or map offering. Survivor is EZ mode.
On the topic tho, yes those 3-man SWFs can be quite a-holes. Solo can be left to bleed out for 3 minutes or be left sacrificed to get the hatch spawn so they can escape with a key.

I understand this point of view, but I think it clearly illustrates the problem of the SWF not being in their OWN que. Your natural propensity to care more about your own friends and the odds you will leave that Solo cold, puts every Solo stuck with a SWF at a disadvantage. If that Solo were in with all other Solos they would be in that ship together. It may not seem like much, but the SWF bias is pretty much a death sentence for that Solo; I've seen it SO many times.
Again, I'm not judging you. What you describe and I am recognizing is human nature. It just sucks in the context of this game. That Solo guy/gal didn't sign up to be the Star Trek Red Shirt of your Landing Party. :) Do you see where I'm coming from?

I do get what you're saying, but i would also say its a double edged sword. A random with other randoms is still at the mercy of others. Whilst a random with a 3man squad might be left high and dry, but is also equally likely to have a navy seal-esque rescue attempt from a team that can actually coordinate
Also, there can almost certainly never be a swf only queue, because that would be a dead queue right off the ground. The average killer wouldn't volunteer to use that queue, and 3 man teams would be impossible to queue as either since the 4th would have to be a random

I see it the other way a lot of times. That 1 solo person will bail on everyone else asap if they can. I understand why though cause they get boned more often than not. Earlier today after 1 gate was open our random went down and got basement hooked by trapper. He double trapped the top of the stairs. I still went back and got the dude. He escaped with my other 2 SWF and I died on 2nd hook. I could have left and my current challenge of get out the gate with adrenaline said I should have just bailed. Not all SWF teams view the random as expendable. My team kinda watches to see if they help or not. We try not to leave anyone behind but if we have to it's usually one of us.
