Flattered but no thank you!
Ok, all morning I have been getting mostly Red Rank survivors. There are always at least two against me with two Purples or ALL Red. Both times I've faced all Red I was at the Ormond (certainly overkill there). So I'm flattered that DbD thinks I'm ready for the "show" but I have to say I'm clearly not. What gives? Are you guys testing some new matching system again? Please just tell us so I can opt out I've lost so many pips this morning.

Seven. I started the morning as a six. But drawing all Red I am almost an eight again and STILL pulling mostly red.

I don't mind a hard game or a challenge; that is how you get better. But 1-3 making up MOST of my games, things are over too fast for me to even learn anything. I don't mind a sweat, but I do think the matching is out of whack.

I had this issue a couple weeks back. Op killer add ons, poor game connections and game breaking bugs have lost me my rank 4 solo survivor rank all the way down to 7 and I'm struggling here to make many more pips back. The game is easier now im just starting to get easy killers again though so its more forgiving now ive dropped a fair bit. I can put up with game breaking crap if the killers aren't constantly up my ass.

You play long enough you get both extremes of the game. Red rank killer play is only fun if don't care about pips but red rank survivor play is only about pips.

I'm getting only rank 1 killers. Everyone else is 3 at most.
I hate it. 'Bout to either devote myself to killer or play another account for a few months to drop my surv rank.

the match making system only pairs you with other players within 20 ranks of yourself, so that is working as designed 😃
Seriously though mornings usually have fewer players, so matchmaking starts prioritizing by wait time rather than rank

Not on PC. The SteamCharts for DbD peak between 11am and 2pm or so, and then drop off more and more as the evening hits.
Granted, we're all crossplay now, and now have to take into account console peak times, but that is where PC is at.
I oddly get my most imbalanced matches during that peak time, and did even before crossplay.
For the most balanced matches, I play between 5pm and 9pm east coast U.S. time. Starting around 9pm or so, it goes back to rainbow matches in a bad way.
Since crossplay, after 10pm, absolutely forget it. Almost every match becomes one or two red ranks with their low-level friends, and endless BMing from the reds to boot.
