Spirit Having a Phase Animation Would Be Healthier for the Game
As someone who plays a decent amount of Spirit, I really think she needs a phasing animation to provide survivors with more feedback during chases. Considering that Spirit is very prediction heavy and that's the aspect of her gameplay that feels most rewarding, survivors knowing when she's phasing would enhance this experience rather than hurt her gameplay.
Currently Spirit can gain a lot of feedback from the Survivors, while they recieve very little, which I think is the main issue people have when playing against her.
While it also feels great tricking a Survivor into jumping over a pallet etc. and grabbing them. This happens so rarely and doesn't feel great for Survivors. So an animation or indication she's started phasing seems like a good start to alleviate some frustrations.

Not sure if Spirit has been amassing a whole list of what is so "unfair" about her but her animations or intermittent phasing or lack of window vault animation has NEVER bothered me as a survivor - nor seemed the strongest part of her kit when playing her. This is coming from someone who played maybe 100~ Stridor Spirit games since I like other killers more.
Her base power is 176% movement speed over the normal 115% walking which can be increased to 246% with her pink Mother Daughter Ring (realistically more the 181%/186%/191% range is still significant with her other addons) combined with Stridor and cranked up Head-phones you can hear HEALTHY survivors breathing let alone the loud moaning that hurt survivors wail (and it makes Iron Will hurt people sound like normal injured folks). This means an above average spirit can be more than 90% sure where you are from sounds and combine that with basic game knowledge to smack folks at loops without having to. When I combine the MD Ring with the currently bugged Purple Yakuyoke Amulet (Increased duration which is bugged to also make her cooldown lower) can literally run right behind someone at a HUGE loop like Crotus Asylum Window loop, hear the guy vault over - turn around and catch up to them and hit them coming out of phase before they can make it to another loop. This is doubly the case when folks drop a pallet and I immediately just phase infront of him to smack him 100% if he leaves and AT BEST a 50/50 if he doesn't by phasing to the side they vault to or staying still while phasing.
This is the part most people complain about... not the mind game portion of her kit which is faking a phase and having them vault into you - which would be completely fair if the other side of getting smacked at insane speeds didn't scare them into it.
My only suggestion is to add visible ghostly footprints or soft padding noises to her phase walk but I'm not even sure if that would be enough to alleviate the issue from decent Spirits - let alone god level Killers who decide to run Spirit to make best use of their game knowledge

The whole point of Spirit is predicting what she does, she’s a mind game killer. You also can already tell she’s phasing because her animation replays which isn’t even supposed to happen.

Actually, there's a video showcasing every phasing "tell" that the community has come up with, and all of them are either false or worthless. The only one that had any merit was her hair freaking out for 1 frame, and that was a bug.

The glass glows if shes phasing I believe

Just give her footsteps a bit more range. If you have good reactions you can juke when you hear her footsteps, which are completely audible at like 5m. Bump it up to 8m and all your problems go away. Assuming you are good enough to listen for her.

Giving her a phasing animation wouldn’t fix anything. Anyone who has played Spirit a couple of times can figure out when she’s phasing and won’t fall for dumb fake phase tricks. The real problem people have with Spirit is that she’s totally invisible while in phase.

No it wouldn't, it would just remove her ability to mind game with her power completely. There is a reason that you have no indication if she is phasing or not. Just stop being foolish enough to run into the killer, you would think that is basic but apparently it's not.

That seems like a really good change honestly.
Her footsteps seem so inconsistent. You hear them really easy on swamp, red forest and indoor maps but harder on all the other maps.

That's too much..then you could just camp pallets at 0 risk

Honestly I had an idea that spirit would start to flicker during her phase windup but remove the passive phasing and she can move ..this way that part of her kit is in her control, survivors know when shes about to attempt a play if they can see her, and it adds another layer to learning her for more creative plays outside phasing

It would be too easy to camp pallets for free

Fair point.
Same reason why her directional phasing made her so bad

no

Yeah..shes completely reliant on her anonymity..I posted a suggestion I think would help a bit better

Excuse me, but when does the spirit need to predict? Just follow the sound of an injured person, I hope you are referring to the nurse, she does need to predict and if she does it wrong she is punished.

Rank 1 Spirit chased me for nearly 3 gens, I'm a killer main and can still loop a Spirit and this is proof its not hard if you know what you're doing.

It's literally already a thing though. We're just making it a bit more reliable.

It's a guessing game for both sides. I don't really see why people are so mad at Spirit. Are they mad because Stridor provides massive synergy with her Power? Imagine if people had that same energy for other perks that had good synergy with Killer's Powers. Like STBL with Demo's Shred, Ruin/Suirvellance with Freddy's teleport, Thana with Plague, Sloppy with Oni.....
Like honestly, she's an average Killer that you guys hold to such a ridiculous tier because people play her more often than others.

That will defeat the purpose of Spirit!

That spirit was bad. She vaulted a TL wall. You also some who took a hit. She had you injured and missed an open phase. She even couldnt get a hit on a Z wall. Atleast provide us a good spirit or you cant because it would be a short chase.

Not really a guess for the spirit if they have stridor and can hear exactly where you are. Training yourself to use sound as a killer isnt hard it's just free info.

Which is a bad thing

Dunno if it's all platforms but she does have sparkling lights during her phase on ps4 if your close to her

Since sound isn't bugged since months.

Same sounds are bugged for survivor we cant hear those footsteps.

Exactly. The mindgame aspect of her is busted because there are too many possiblities. Which is why its a terrible defense of her strength.
Its not a fighting game where "oh I got hit by this, okay he'll either go for a low or an overhead here or maybe he'll back off and trying to trick me" where you can potentially play around it IF you're smart and experienced. She can come from literally anywhere and you can't even get it down to a timing. She also has tons of feedback on you. But you don't even know if shes actually phasing. She could just be standing on the other side of the pallet and you'd have no knowledge of it being a fake out.
That Scott video encapsulates it perfectly where he says "survivors want to be able to use their skills they've learned to try and play against the power." But theres no skill involved for the survivor. There is for Spirit and thats probably why shes so much more fun to play than Wraith or Ghostface among others.
The survivors have to attempt to act unpredictable (practically impossible against sounds) and hope the Spirit makes the wrong choice. There is for Spirit and thats probably why shes so much more fun to play than Wraith or Ghostface among others. You don't trick a spirit she messes up her phase.

If it shuts up the crybabies then I'm fine with it. You can literally do this now so what's the difference.
