What charms do you use? Does it follow a specific rule?

I was wondering which Charms you use and if that follows a specific rule. I noticed so many patterns and I was wondering which of those little trinkets you all use. Some Charms are more popular, some I see almost never. Some people are recognizable by the charms they use. (i.e. Otzdarva uses only the Fog Whisperer Charm on the right upper side of the hook)
This is what I do:
I always equip the most recent Tome Charm I've got. This goes for Killer and Survivor. For Killer it's (if possible) two Charms which fit the Killer, i.e. "Trap" & "Mine Site" for Trapper. If there is only one fitting Charm for that Killer, then I use a Charm I like for the last one.
My Charms on Survivor are chosen by what I like. I never use the Chibi ones; it's just not my style. My go-to Charm is the "Life Tree".

I only use one charm on my survivor's. If I equip more then that the waist looks way too busy. And it has to match my survivors outfit at least by color. I usually just use the nectar vial, mostly because it's so universal and it is of my favorite charms.

I love that Vial too. It's a really nice charm, also for some killers. I use it on the Clown and Doctor at the moment.

I also match charms with things that I think fit the character's personality or things that make sense as a 'keychain'. If I don't have those, I like to match colors or themes, like all the blue ones or all the coins, etc.
Another cheeky thing I like to do with the character charms for survivors... If I believe two characters would be great 'friends' I have one character wear the other's charm 😏

Non glowing charms for killer. I already got bamboozled by glowing charms on the hook and thought it was a survivor.
I usually take 1 charm for Killers which is in most cases a hint for who I'm playing. Wooden Horse for Nurse for example.
For survivors it's 1 or 2. If it looks fine, I'll take it.

Every killer and survivor has the previous Tome's final tier charm attached. The characters then have charms that relate to them. For killer I have one unique to them charm and the Killer Stone charm. For survivor I just use two unique to them charms.

For survivors I like to use fitting charms where possible. So for David I like to use the knuckle dusters and chibi, for Zarina the camera (even though it was Jane's originally) and for Jake the plant. If it blend with the outfit well I like to use it also, so for Jeff's camo pants I like to use the tree of life, brand new part and plant.
As killer I sometimes go with what I think the killer would like! For example I use the nurse's horse charm on clown and billy, because billy grew up on a farm and clown has his horse Maurice, so they both get reminders of their past. I try and use kinda obscure and related ones, or similar to you the respective killers charms ( like Discordance + Speaker for legion), but for some killers that can give a bit of info away so I don't do it for all of them.

I usually do a combination of current Archive Charms and Tome/Rift-Reward Charms (so Archive Level 4 and Rift Tier 70).
I use them on all of my Killers and on female Survivors.

I like to use lore-related charms on their associated killer, like the bell charm for Wraith or the bunny charm for Huntress. On survivor I will run the latest tome charm to indicate I'm trying to do tome challenges in case the killer wonders why I keep trying to blind them or whatever.

I tend to go for ones fitting with a character's story or personality except for my main survivor (Jake) for which I cycle through themes based on my mood or the skin I'm using.

i like to run charms that i feel like work together well with the killer im using.
for example my Doctor has two reagents on his hooks or my Deathslinger has a lot of scrap metal (such as the Cube from Tome 3 or the Mac Millain danger sign), as he is quite the tinkerer.
for Survivor im really just showing off my 3 Tier 70 charms...

I just use the main totem progress charms, I at least feel like I sort of earned those by completing the challenges.

Anything that glows or lights up or is pink goes on mah girls! Nectar Vial, Neon Arcade, Lunar Lantern, Vaporous Hexahedron etc.
Pretty much charm everyone personality wise tho

I use the vial and the tome 1+2 max archive charms. Nobody uses the charms that aren't the level 70 or archive ones so I don't understand why they keep creating so many for the rift.

I use the charms that are relevant to each character, like for wraith, I use his bell from this rift, Legion I use the discordance charm and the spray painted speakers. Trapper I use the Macmillan logo, danger sign, and a bear trap. That kind of thing.
Although, for killers that dont have any, like Pyramid head, I use charms that have a meaning similar to what they stand for, like the Blood moon, Red tree charm, and a Glyph charm for PH, because they are symbolic.
If survivors pay attention to my charms, they might get a clue as to what killer it is. At least, that is my thinking.
With survivor, it is similar, where I use charms I think they would like.
