Iron maiden is severely underrated.

Title.

I've running that perk for like 50 games and this is just amazing:

  • It counters BBQ counters.
  • It counters head on, not fully but it creates huge threat to them and they will have to choose very good moment to Head On you if they don't want to get instadowned.
  • It counters Inner strength&DS bitches who hop into locker, while threatening you with DS and Head On, then pop out healthy. NOT TODAY, GET DOWNED.
  • It makes jumping into locker to avoid Chainsaw/Blink a literal death sentence to survivor, bc they just get 15 seconds of exposed and get smacked.
  • It makes stealthy cowards` lives harder. Way harder.
  • No more locker jumps midchase

Great perk. I'm glad it's not used very often, so survivors rarely expect that to happen and just get lost.

What killers are you recommending for Iron Maiden?

How do you feel about locker scream trolling?

    Iron maiden is severely underrated.

Not the OP but doc definitely

And do you mean survivors just going in and out of lockers to scream over and over? Pretty funny tbh

    Iron maiden is severely underrated.

I'm a bubba main and my build is bbq, iron maiden, pop and overcharge. I'd replace overcharge with that new perk dragons grip

I’m hesitant to say exposed perks will be great on instadown killers.

Make your Choice and Dragon's Grip builds are going to be nasty, I can't wait to try it.

Don't you mean it synergizes with BBQ? Both are killer perks that go good together. BBQ doesn't show auras of those in lockers and IM Reveals the location of a survivor that leaves a locker.

I mean, any perk is Severely underrated. The problem is that most perks are highly situational so people run with the ol' boring Meta builds. PGTW ain't situational, you're always gonna kick a gen. BBQ ain't situational, you're always gonna hook at least 1 person.

I'm a guy who runs meme builds like all Hex perks just so I give Survivors the ability to control what the outcome of the game will be. That's about as situational as you can get.

The main weakness to Iron Maiden is that once it happens they know you have the perk and will probably just avoid lockers from then on. And because the Exposed condition and the aura are so short it’s questionable whether you’ll have time to capitalize on it.

That being said I can see the point about synergizing a bit with BBQ and chili. (I don’t use that perk personally though, I don’t care about the out-of-game currency bonus from it and I like other perks better than the BBQ auras for most killers. I get that it’s popular though because of that combo of not too bad tracking and a big BP boost, I just don’t think the tracking on its own is worth it.)

I mean if they avoid lockers, that is good too, if survivors use perks like Head On/Inner strength or abuse DS&Inner Strength combo

  • Member Posts: 567

    It counters nothing.

They just scream and you know that they are somewhere on the other side of the map most likely. The exposed status is so short you will almost never down a survivor with it.

They can still avoid BBQ, still heal with inner strength, and calm spirit counters it fully.

Also, if survivors know you have it they will play differently, so it will only help you a bit the first time they jump out of a locker.

Them not doing Inner Strength is good. Head On is pretty gimmicky though.

  • Member Posts: 3,627

Half of it I'm not fine with. It does not counter DS, you still have to wait up to a minute to take advantage. Also does just barely counter Inner Strength. I played several games with Inner Strength against Iron Maiden and never got downed. It restricts you a bit in not leaving the locker too early, but that's it. Locker jumps mid chase are normally a death sentence anyway. Either by grabbing or interrupting

1 thing I love about this perk. Is usually toxic survivors constantly fast jump in-out of locker to make screaming noise to annoy me. Funny that they can noise spam locker without Iron maiden.

Im like "ok, 1 less survivor on Gen"

is underrated because is a trash perk.

time exposed status is a joke, that's why nobody uses it

Iron Maiden together with both Shadow Dance Addons on Wraith, THAT is hilarious. You can open that lockers so damn quick ^^.

  • Member Posts: 3,398

I could kinda see iron maiden being useful on Doctor and Wraith, but that's it. It's a noob-bait pick on Huntress. Absolutely not worth it over something like whispers or corrupt, or honestly any other tracking perk which is what she needs most.

Bubba tantrum timing is "harder than it looks"? You leave the locker right after the second to last swing because the final swing on the tantrum doesn't have a hitbox. Do people still not know this?

  • Member Posts: 1,101

It's very good on leatherface, hillbilly or nurse. I usually take this perk over noed if I feel like I'm sick of locker jukes/perks and I haven't got genrushed recently.

Survivors usually do locker jukes against bubba/billy when healthy to avoid double damage and force you to M1 and here Iron Maiden puts them in almost lose-lose situations (any ways out are very unlikely).

Also, it works great with BBQ as it reveals survivors who hide on lockers.

Head On works really well against Bubba Tanturm. As once he finishes his tanturm you can stun him and prevent him from being able to grab you when leaving the locker. Obviously it only works once in a chase, but that should give you enough time to move to a safer area.

    Amen brother.

Especially since survivors who try to hold a game hostage either love areas around gates or... lockers!

But we can be happy that this perk is not loved and swim into the unknown murky water until we rush up and hit our victim (sorry I have watch Meg for a few minutes again :|).

But this line fits still to Iron Maiden, if used correctly^^.

I put Iron Maiden in the same category a LOT of perks end up in. Its good, but what perks on any particular killer/build am I willing to let this replace?

The answer is almost none, and almost never.

Now when i'm memeing, sure Iron Maiden all the way. Otherwise I will always take perks like Pop, Corrupt Intervention, Surveillance, Thrilling Tremors, Save The Best For Last, hell even NOED, over perks like Iron Maiden if i'm playing to win.

At a high level it can be decent on Legion to. Survivors like to jump in a locker to counter ff, they want you to stab the locker instead of them. Suprise!

  • Member Posts: 6,278

That in itself can still be a great benefit of the perk. If survivors stop hiding in lockers, it speeds up searches when you know a survivor is in the area because you’ll know searching lockers is pointless.

Even when a perk isn’t activate doesn’t mean it’s lost value.

very compelling arguments... imma give it a try and start using instead of Iron Grasp

  • Member Posts: 1,119

Why do stealthy people get labelled as cowards? It's a game about avoiding a deadly killer.

  • Member Posts: 136

True But if they get out of that perfect timing and my iron maiden kicks in it's gg for the survivor. Either way I come out winning, thus why I love the perk

  • Member Posts: 369

its a good perk above rank 10 i guess
