So some people spend money to play this game just to click M1 and leave?
Honestly, I'll never understand this type of behaviour.
Why would I pay around 20€ just to do that? There are already games where you can do that, and you don't even have to pay.
Cookie clicker...you know, that type of stuff.

They want their ego trip despite how flawed the chase time vs repair time ratio is.

You nailed it.
Usually people who do this are extremely entitled from my own experience.
In the scenario where these type of survivors actually die, they become extremely toxic.
It's always the same pattern.

You didn't get my point I think.
I'm talking about those kinds of survivors that thing DbD is a speedrun game.
They click M1 the whole game, the hide the whole game, and just that.
That just proves they are awful survivors tbh.
I've had games where real good survivors, didn't need to gen rush to actually win because they were gods at looping.
When I get games like this I'm just dissapointed at that type of people, because that shows no skill.

Its just how humans are programmed. Success in an endeavour gives a larger dopamine hit than pretty much anything else for a significant portion of the population. You cannot fault someone for wanting to win, although the ones that then go on and on about how they beat you is extremely tiresome.
It's like people that cheat at poker, even when there's no gambling involved. Oh, wow, you marked the cards so you know what everyone's holding - Impressive victory.

You should get a buff to repair speed that gets more powerful the longer you're in a chase, and it lasts until the next time you work on a gen. Then they could make the repair times longer while at the same time making them shorter for people who learn to play the fun part of the game. I guess some folks out there have fun being all stealthy, but this wouldn't really change that much.
Just a fun thought, probably wouldn't work too well as people would be fighting each other to get the killer to chase them.

Well......if they want to "win" they are not getting it that way.
DbD is not a game where you win escaping or killing.
You win by having a decent score, or reaching the top score you could get.
Winning means getting 1 or 2 pips. If you got a double pip, you really played nice.
Just by doing gens and escaping they are actually not winning. A lot of survivors still don't realize this point.

There actually isn't a win condition. That's a big problem with DBD. The Devs used to push pips, but even they basically admitted that they don't really matter. Not to mention the fact that Legion pips up for playing poorly with 0 skill, and Plague pips down for an amazing, mind-blowing 4k.

Sometimes people are having a rough go of it.

I just wanna have fun not mend simulator, white screen simulator, or hold W simulator
1 -
The few times I played survivor, I actually had 0 fun doing gens. It's boring and it feels like wasting my time. Even If I know that's wrong, I just forget about gens and get into chases.
That's one of the reasons why I never play survivor. You are "obliged" to repair, and I don't like to do so.

I play legion a lot, and If you play like trash, you are lucky if you get a brutal killer.
The thing with plague is that if you overextend on making people unable to heal, you are actually losing hit points, which count a lot for emblems.
My aim as killer is always getting the best performance/scoring as possible. Usually, if I get a brutal killer or entity displeased, I played poorly.
0 -
Really? Because I used to play Legion a lot and they carried me to rank 1 with 0 skill and 1-2 kills a trial. I didn't even know how to mindgame or that slugging was a thing that you need to do.
0 -
The thing with legion is that for example, is one of the best characters to get hit and chase points.
That's helps for farming bloodpoints and for emblems.
But I mean, regardless of the killer you are using, if you play poorly you get a safety pip or depip that's it. I never had a game where I knew I performed poorly, and I got a brutal killer or less.

Well, if you dont chase me I will just repair gens, what else am I supposed to do?

I'm not going to repeat something that I've already said.
Your answer to that is above in this thread.

It's what clown said.
And it's a sociopsychological phenomenon:
We are literally taught in most western societies that we must always succeed (at first try), always be in the center of attention etc, and that even the slightest slipup equals complete failure. and who fails (even if they have no experience with something) is worthless and thus better of dead.
That's why people turn virtually everything into a competition.
Even games like Animal Crossing aren't safe. Get all the items asap, get the highest rating etc.
We are forbidding ourselves from 'just playing a game for fun' (or in general doing anything for fun).
And with DbD it's exactly those people who will then cry havoc on here or twitter etc when someone suggests a new mode, be it a new game mode or a more casual mode, or adding more objectives... hell, they'll pop a vein when someone suggests to shake up the existing skill system to make it more complex but enable better matchmaking.
because they want to succeed, not to actually learn and gain skill and play to their best skill.

I play to improve, and I think ranking up or down doesn't matter. Just scoring matters, because it "shows" if you did wrong or well.
But well, not everybody is strong enough to leave their small pp builds to try new perks and addons.
For exameple, few hours ago I've hit red ranks for the first time. And survivors just click M1 and escape, with 0 interaction with the killer.
Well, then if that's all about red rank survivors, I don't want to be in a rank for small brains.
Clicking M1 all day in gens doesn't show any skill, at all.
0 -
oh, i don't think you are being fair. sometimes they certainly click m2... when they have a toolbox
3 -
You want to talk about entitlement but then criticise survivors for doing their objective. Their main objective isn't to walk you around the map like a dog, it's to do gens and nail those skill checks. If you were a decent killer, survivors wouldn't just be doing gens. They'd be in chases, unhooking, healing, doing totems, etc. If you are getting games where all survivors are doing is pressing m1, that's because of you, not them.
Also who are you to criticize someone on what they chose to do with their money? If they have fun holding m1 and it's worth it to them then stop being a judgemental jerk.
3 -
you made me laugh there lol <3 haha

So survivors were doing gens efficiently, and you lost because of it. Oh no, they were literally doing their gameplay objective and you came to whine about it.
Poor baby.

He has no valid argument, he'll only reply to you with not even funny memes.

Yeah I see that. It's... it doesn't even make sense.
Killer mains baffle me, because any time I read the forums or watch one stream it feels like they just want survivors to run in circles so they can kill them without effort. Doing gens? TOXIC. Looping well? TOXIC. Perks like DH, DS, or Unbreakable? TOXIC. "Bad survivors rely on perks to reset their mistakes" or whatever.
Seems like killers just want to press M1 and move on...
1 -
EXACTLY! You don't know how refreshing it is to find someone who feels the same in these killer infested forums.

Wil I be invited to the wedding?

I could quote what I said to explain my point but I just won't do it intentionally. This is already fun.

You’ll never understand what type of behaviour? Someone pushing their win condition because their opponent didn’t contest it? This is a PvP game and most people play it because they want to win against a human opponent. Whatever people will tell you about pips being a win or bp being a win, for every survivor player I’ve ever spoken to their goal is to escape and help their teammates to escape.
If the survivors all run in a straight line and let themselves get easily downed and killed would you say, “wow some killers really just want to hold W and M1 smh, I’ll never understand this behaviour” or would you accept that they play under the assumption that their opponents are actually trying to win and capable of doing so?
If a survivor sits on a gen for 80 seconds uncontested, and there’s nothing else for them to do that will help them to win, what do you expect them to do? Teabag messages to each other in morse code?

Who are you to tell people what their idea of fun should be? I get that you don't understand it, just doing gens isn't my idea of fun either but if that is what somebody likes to do, then more power to them.
I think it's incredibly obnoxious to judge how others choose to harmlessly spend their time based on your own preferences, I'm sure you do many things they wouldn't consider fun either.

So some people spend money to play this game just to click M1 and down survivors who force their way into chases? SMH. Some people actually have skill and find survivors themselves.

i mean, some people pay 20$ just to cheat and get permabanned after a day.

No.

This idea of winning is a bit flawed. Certain killers get more points far easier because the emblem system supports their power while others do not. You can get 31k points as wraith, legion, and doctor and still get brutal killer as well as only 1k. Then you can get 3k/4k with trapper, plague, billy, myers, and leatherface and only get 15k-20k points due to the nature of their power.
Because of how flawed the emblem/scoring system is, I consider a 3k/4k a win, a 2k a draw, and 3/4scape a loss.
Coming back to your post, if there's no pressure on the other survivors to unhook/heal/get off gens, then their obvious goal is to hold m1 on gens and progress the game. YOU can make it more fun for survivors by downing them faster and forcing chases to happen with all survivors. For me, stealthy survivors are by far the easiest group to 4k against because they stealth b/c they can't loop so chases end much faster.

Well, I never got a game where I knew that my performance was poor, and I got a merciless killer. Just saying.
0 -
Maybe there is more to your post I’m not understanding but if I understand right what do you expect people to do if they aren’t being chased? To run at you?
1 -
yeah, i guess some just have too much money at hand...
must be nice being as rich and cool as them.
im sure they are the the most popular kids at school.

You missed the point of the post. The point is is that most instadown killers will almost never get merciless and will still 3k/4k. Killers like Plague and trapper suffer from the emblem system as well. According to your logic, you have a higher chance of losing by playing these killers since they can't get merciless all the time even though they 3k/4k.
