Powerless against SWF team!
Hi all, 1st post here.
I just came up against a 4 SWF team, as a killer, and I found it futile to even attempt to stop them as they just control the game so well.
I know they were a team as I was on the temple of purgation map and one of them kept standing on the ruins between the last 2 gens available so Im assuming he was on comms with his team as before I could get to a gen they were 20 meters off in the opposite direction, I didnt manage to kill 1 survivor.
Does anyone have any tips on how to beat this? As this has happened a few times now and feel as if killers are completely outmatched against a try hard team with comms and items.
Thanks

The only real tip I can give is play well and hope beyond hope that they screw up so royally you actually manage to snowball map pressure, whilst also hoping that they aren't running any second chance perks to completely undo said map pressure.
So, long story short, it's out of your hands. Just play well and the rest really isn't your fault.

Make new players miserable experience. Devs only understand this 💸💸 and while that is not affected they dont mind. Killer community and part of survivors too have asked for years for balancing SWF and rework OoO still waiting for a PTB with a possible balance so maybe hitting on their purse will make em wake up.

Just search one of the many post about "toxic swf gets reckt "
Surely one of those posters must have advice for you.

Not really much you can do to beat a good SWF team. It's incredibly imbalanced.

Sometimes you just gotta accept the loss.
In games it’s clear there’s nothing I can do I just go wait by a gate switch to open it as soon as the last gen pops so the game can just be over ASAP.

- Avoid them. In general, if you are in a Lobby and all the players appear at the same time, it is usually a good indication they were in their own group room first. If you don't want to fight a SWF, leave the Lobby and start over.
- If you have a surplus of Red and Green Mori, bring one every time. If you end up fighting a SWF, use it. Drop it to 3v1 to try to reset the balance as quickly as possible. At that point you re just fighting not to lose a Pip or do whatever you can.
- SWF are often slightly (if not a lot) more altruistic than other groups because they are close friends in many cases. This means they will come out to help their buddies. If your Killer has Add-Ons or methods to get Insta-Down or fancy Mori, get one of them on a hook (or slug) and terminate with extreme prejudice anyone and everyone that comes to help.
- You have to take oppressive Perks that slow down the Gen Rush. You have to buy that time to kill some of them.
- Focus on that 3-Gen nearest the basement. A basement and three generators close to it in a defensible patrol is your best option. If the map is too big and I know I'm facing a SWF I just start getting my goalie situation set around the basement. Combine this with the other comments I said above.
- SWF tend to choose the Perks we all know all to well now. That means you should keep careful watch on the time, slug when possible, and invalidate these Perks by not getting pulled by them. Likewise, go for GRABS when they are unhooking rather than hits. This works particularly well in the basement.
- Do NOT feel guilty about camping, tunneling, slugging, or the Mori. Members of a SWF are using a MEGA-PERK which is outside the game and provides more info than any combination of Perks inside the game. It is a problem, but all we can do is adapt. That means you can't pretend to be a nice guy and avoid those things people have worked hard to shame you into thinking are the so-called toxic. You do what you have to do to put them away.
- Don't get frantic. If you start to feel impotent and overwhelmed, the situation will only get worse. If you know you are going to lose the game, try to learn from it. Get experimental. Earn the points you can to try and avoid losing a Pip (if you care about Rank) and just try to study how they work together. Learn how to spot who is the weakest link in a SWF. Even good ones, well-coordinated, have some Players that lead and are proactive and some that are less so. Knowing how to spot the best ones, help you in the future, so you know who to MORI first. Learning to understand who is the best, gives you better opportunities to cut the head off the snake.
- As with any game, know your maps. This only comes with time. They are going to coordinate and keep eyes on you. They are going to share this information. Intimate knowledge of the maps makes it better for you to cut corners, and hopefully fool one, so they give bad information to the others, and you have to be ready to take advantage.
- Be gracious in defeat. No Salt. Learn from the rough game and get better. There is no point in getting salty with them because HALF of them are Trolls who want it. They get a perverse thrill out of upsetting you which is why the did it in the first place, and HALF are just entirely focused on the win and don't care if you are salty or not. Do you see my point? No reason to destroy your own blood pressure and reputation over it. The creeps will be annoyed they didn't upset you. And the cold fish will respect you for being stoic or cool about it.
Eventually, this shall pass. The current situation is detrimental and everyone knows it on some level. Put your head down, do the best you can, learn what you can from it, and when it is dealt with, you will be even stronger.

The most important thing is to keep your cool during the round. As Wraith I fought a SWF team and got destroyed, but my defining reason for failing was that I allowed them to swarm. I was easily confused, when really a better tactic would have been to hit and run. Get out of the swarm, and attack when it's easier. I also was missing obvious shots. I played poorly (even though they were extremely good).
Alongside not getting swept up, your map team mate is the basement. That will cause the most damage and can especially cause issues for a more altruistic team.
A final tip is to get then to drop pallets around the area you're guarding for a 3-4 gen strategy quickly. Take the hit, because a dropped pallet earlier on makes it a dangerous place later in the game.
Basically, keep calm and experiment . The most dangerous of Killers are those who know they have nothing left to lose.

Don't let them decide how you play. These kind of teams try to lure you into doing their bidding do not take the bait. Clicky-clicky? No follow. Tea bagging? Just continue with your game plan they lose distance when they do that. Be patient at hooks they are most likely in the area so patrol before leaving. Never chase to long or else the gens will pop uncontrollable. Keep your cool you only need a mistake from them to capitalize on. They are probably using all the meta perks don't fall for them.
And the best thing you can do is pay attention before the game starts. Example: I had a full Claudette load out with similar looking names so I equipped a mori just in case it went south. Well let's say they turned out to be urban evading clauds who brought an ormond offering against my hag so all traps were useless. Got 2 mori kills and the last 2 dead after they 99 the gate (1 on hook with the last one making a really bad safe attempt). I had to play just as dirty as them for the win since I was revert to a no traps M1 killer. But I see it as a challenge it could have ended both ways.
In your case I would have chased that scout of the ruins and patrol those 2 gens heavily, they either keep swarming those or disappear and that is the time to check gen 3... This is a team that goes around the map like a herd, if they split up to do gens you are probably screwed since you are out of time.

Devs balance the game for green ranks.
Be sure to support their decision and stop by the store.

I just played against this team
I've managed to down the whole team 2 times and they had 2 unbreakables to give them second chances, I've managed to blink on top of them multiple times but they all had Dead Hard to give them second chances. They all grouped up on the last gen and 2 of them used decisive strike offensively to give them second chances. They played the game very badly but still get away with it because second chance stacking is meta. What can I do? Nothing. What can you do? Nothing. This is not your fault and there's nothing you can do. Just accept and move on. BHVR keep launching very good utility perks every chapter and people keep using the same mistake-erasing perks since chapter 4. As you can see there's clearly a game design problem here. So again, sometimes there's nothing you can do.

All great advice.
using Make Your Choice is great too, as dude said, they usually play very save-y, MYC is a great way to punish it if you can get the unhooker in time.

Find the weak link of the team and target them. Their friends will have to rescue the weak link, might body block for the weak link or try to divert your attention.

Playing Nurse when a single DH now forces you into double fatigue is pretty ballsy in this meta.

Great and Inspiring advice,
I found myself getting so frustrated playing against them and then they started the toxicity of pointing and t bagging. I generally find survivors are more toxic.
I think a lot of it comes down to luck too, as in what the map is and if my totems are well placed.

Wow, I thought I had a rough game,
That is a tough draw my friend.
I just made it to rank 6 killer (which is my highest rank) and feel I need to understand the meta survivor perks a lot more so I can anticipate them better and understand their actions.
