Is Dead by Daylight unoptimized or is my PC bad?
Personally, I think I have a good PC (I don't need to list specs, just take my word for it) and I always have minor FPS lag when I go against Freddy and I'm in the Dream World. The upcoming update brings graphical updates, some of these including very fancy lighting. I've played on the PTB and experienced minor (sometimes major) FPS lag every time a generator was popped (due to their updated light-up texture on their top that appears whenever it's complete)
I played other games with much better graphics than DBD (not that anything's wrong with graphics, mind you) and I still get 60+ FPS on them, with the HIGHEST settings available.
If you still really feel like telling my PC specs will help you to answer my question, then let's just say it exceeds even the "recommended" system requirements on Dead by Daylight's Steam store page by quite higher numbers.

badly optimized

Yes, the game is unoptimized, it´s the type of game that doesn´t look good and doesn´t run well.

Its the same for console this game is horrible in term of look for the gen they are on. Im sure this game would run better on the ps3

Thank you for the clarification. I thought my computer was the problem. Even a higher caliber game such as Fortnite (don't judge lol) runs super smoothly with no FPS lag.

I've got the same problem. I believe i've got a pretty good PC for running games, but even though I get perfect fps in almost all of my other games, I only get between 30 - 20 fps on DBD.
Let's just hope that they really optimize the game in the next update.

DBD doesn't run well on PlayStation 4, the mods deleted a post which amassed over 1k comments with complaints about poor performance on consoles.

That's the thing about the next update. It will get even worse if they don't do something about it now.

It was deleted for good reasons.

Column B: Poorly optimised.
Seriously, according to NVIDIA the game doesn't even run at 1080p and it's still that laggy. Given that I recently upgraded my RAM and CPU (very cheaply), but not GPU, and I could suddenly run it in Ultra? It's probably the code itself that's causing stutter, not the visual effects.

Care to explain?

It was being filled with spam/bumps/trash. Yeah optimization is a problem but pages upon pages of spam(and hate) to keep the thread up is not the way to go about fixing it.

I'd agree that it's very, very CPU intensive. My 1060 6GB is used at, like, 40% usage when I was using Ultra+ but my Ryzen 7 3700x on Midwich was suffering, and when that beast of CPU is struggling to hit 60fps, you know something's gone wrong.

Hm, even I didn't know this (I'm not even a console player, so that explains why)
It's good they took off the thread then. I think we should just give the devs a bit of extra time to go about optimizing the game.
I really hope they use this time well, though. Lmao.

I didn't see any spam but I did see civilized discussions. We still haven't received an update on console optimization since March 2019.

that's false.
but let's admit it was true (it wasn't).
what is the way to go about fixing things, in your opinion?
Please, help us :)
