Proposed Ghost Face Rework
As much as I like the aesthetics of the character, I find the mechanics to be very frustrating. Ghost Face's ability is basically just apeing Myers' shtick but worse, with teabagging, leaning which never seems useful and * shudder * the Reveal mechanic. Dead by Daylight is not exactly known for it's consistent AI, so I don't know WHY the devs thought it would be a good idea to put one in charge of something so subjective as "did the player notice the killer" but it rarely works out fairly, with survivors sometimes struggling to reveal a killer five meters away and othertimes accidentally reveal sniping them from across the map, turning them into a normal m1 killer. A normal m1 STEALTH killer with a 32 METER HEARTBEAT, NO ABILITY, NO MOBILITY and NO MAP PRESSURE! Why do people like this character? I'm sure he's good with meta perks but who isn't?
So I've come up with this rework design for Ghost Face based on his appearance in the Movies, the Lore, and a plethora of other stealth based games, feel free to give your own ideas and critique :)
To explain my choices, a simple character description:
- Ghost Face sneaks into the house of their victim, getting incredibly close and observing them until just the right moment, when they are seperated, paranoid and unaware, to unleash a surprise attack.
- He often disappears and reappears when out of sight, batman style, using confusion to his advantage.
- Victims often suspect eachother, isolating themselves for him.
- He enjoys psychological torture, not always attacking immediately.
- For all the posturing, when it comes to actual chases, he is comically inept:
Okay let's actually begin with the Rework:
Walks at Hag speed (4.4 m/s / 110% survivor speed) to make him worse at chases
Still has a 32 meter terror radius but it's very slight and sounds the same at any range
Ghost face operates as if Night shroud is activated permanently, marking any survivor in sight, but only within a range of 16 meters
Ghost face cannot be revealed
Marked targets are no longer exposed
Marked targets have the blind effect
Marked targets have their location revealed every ten seconds by the killer instinct effect
Marked targets are not told they Marked
Marked targets hear the heartbeat all the time and project one onto other survivors in a 32 meter radius
Marks are semi permanent, only being deactivated upon either:
- Entering and exiting a chase, then waiting ten seconds (will not give away location during chase or countdown, countdown progress stays between chases)
- Having another survivor perform a wake up action on you
- Hiding in a locker for fifteen seconds (will not give away location inside locker)
Night Shroud ability now ten second recharge that activates six seconds of Cloaked Wraith speed (5.06 m/s / 126.5% survivor speed) and four second invisibility to survivors with the blind effect (Marked targets/survivors in lockers/the third seal is finally useful)
Cannot Lunge during Night Shroud, does not count as a regular attack
Cannot activate Night shroud whilst visible to a survivor within 16 meter range or when in a chase (similar to Reveal but more fair)
I know the numbers involved are broken as hell but I hope it gives you an Idea of what I'm going for.

Why rework an already unique/fun/balanced killer? the only thing GF needs is an improve on his base kit, in order to get a decrease of CD on his power (maybe as a consequence of a succesful down)
His playstyle is very enjoyable when you learn all his tricks.

Only thing that needs to change with Ghostface is reduce is base CD to like 20 and lower the numbers on chewed pen and address book in turn.
This way people will actually be tempted to use his other addons.

Alternative:
-Reduce Night Shroud cooldown
That is literally ALL he needs.
Edit: Just saw the attached link. Consider your post liked.

I think he is fine as he is but they just need to fix his stalking. I still notice and see him just fine but I not revealing him at all and I get exposed.

I'm not a very big fan of this as a Ghost Face main. Ghost Face is a fun amazing, and well done addition. Changing him fundamentally like this just doesn't seem right.
Lets go into your points for these changes.
- His current ability already fits that description, perhaps even better because he can be revealed when noticed.
- This also is something his current ability covers well.
- Neither the current ability nor your proposed changes to the character showcase this aspect of the killer.
- Neither of these abilities showcase this aspect of his character.
- The Ghost Face we have is an original character, not Billy or Stu from scream. He is far more experienced and calculated than those two. / The actual proposed changes are fine though, sound kinda cool. Except maybe night Shroud itself, sounds a little too strong with its cooldown.

As much as I enjoy the GhostFace from the scream films, BVHRs interpretation of the character is much different to that. DBD's ghostface is surprisngly competent given how he's basically serial killer spiderman - writing stories about himself, keeping evidence of his crimes with him and so on.
In terms of actual balance, Ghostface doesn't need a worse chase - If you reveal him and you're not marked - he is quite literally man with knife. Addonless ghostface is a pain, a 30 second cooldown inbetween power usages is a massive deal.
What Ghostface needs in my opinion is:
- A way to reduce the basekit cooldown in some way - I've seen suggestions of having it be a reward to have less cooldown by achieving marked stabs, sneak stabs and so on
- Better addons, he has four good ones (3 duration + 1 non lean stalk rate) and the rest are not worth using.
- His own chase music (Not a requirement but It'd be sick).
I don't know if this a controversial thing to say, but Ghostface is probably the best stealth-based killer out of the four (Myers, Pig, Wraith and Deathslinger) when it comes to actual STEALTH.

Out of curiosity, how do you play with ghostface? i try to be sneaky, but in the process most gens get done if i dont just start chases.
