Just open the game and i already lost 15-20 fps.

From what I'm reading, it is. Apparently Otz's frames went from 120 to 80. This update looks like it really screwed over consoles (and frames in general).

Played a few rounds with my gf she's on og xbox, i'm on one x, menu lag free, smoother than silent Hill, in Game ormond smooth, mac millan smooth, coldwind smooth, yamaoka, smooth. My experience after all. Happy with the new Update.
#update1 downloaded on switch too, but didnt tested it yet.
#update2 try'd a few rounds on Switch. Feels minimal better but not great. But its the Switch. Its a wonder that it even runs the game.
#update3 another round on og xbox and one x Game feels really smooth. Not a Placebo. Again only my experience. But it wasnt that smooth with silent hill.

Well I've got a decent computer which can handle most games at high FPS but with this new update on this game, every time a gen is done..I get significant FPS drop.

I've had 0 issues on regular ps4. Running smoothly.

This update has made gameplay as the killer impossible. Everything is super laggy and players teleport. Before the update I had nice smooth gameplay with high framerate. Running with a 2080ti, 3900x, and 32gb of ram, so it's not my computer specs that aren't up to par.
Used to get 100+ FPS now I can't even hit 60.

i played vs freddy and whenever i was in dream my fps were dropping so low

Xbox seems to be running fine. Besides better graphics, the gameplay is decent. Not noticed much of a change otherwise. Yet am so glad that hill glitch has been fixed!

PS4 here and no issues at all which shocks me! Played 5 matches so far, 3 on Autohaven and 2 on the new Badham. Runs smooth, no FPS drops or anything. Trying a couple matches as killer to see how that performs. But seems console for once actually has a smooth gameplay.

Personally not sure how people are saying it's running smooth. I'm on a one x and the frames went from 60(Before the update) to 30. Now my console is also running fans really loudly which in my almost 2 years of owning it, it has never ever done and it surprised me when I heard them kick on so loudly. Not sure where this smoothness is that people are talking about but i'm kind of not sure about even playing it right now with the worry of it possibly overheating my console.

Im confused. I have the X too and frames where trash and ALWAYS have been trash. I dare say they looked BETTER with this update. My attack look so much smoother.

Yeah idk, I always had 60 before this update with no problem (like 100% had 60 but i'm also on 1080P) and the main reason I know that is because it feels choppier and I literally cannot land my skill checks. I will say it seems the resolution is overall higher with this graphic update... possible they're scaling up which is causing the lag and the intense fans running. Still no excuse there though... I literally have not had one single game ever make my fans run as intensely as they do playing this DBD update.

On the Xbox One X? I don't think that was possible before.My frames were awful and after this patch it feels really smoothe as killer?

Yeah no, Xbox one x always ran at 60 Fps for me at 1080p. It was always pretty smooth and I experienced only a few fps drops on certain maps. I play only as survivor... not sure that has anything to do with it. The framerate is now for sure lower for me. It being at 30FPS makes it pretty much unplayable. Skill checks are not easy at all at the framerate it's at now.

autohaven and asylum maps seem to be running fine as both killer and survivor (besides a glitch as killer where i cant hook certain survivors)
havent gotten the new map yet, and the only killer ive been against has been Blight so im not sure about certain killers and maps

I don't get how this can happen. How did you know for sure it was 60 fps? Mine was TRASH before and nowehre near 60. If I played Demo or Pyramid head it was like 20fps. Now with this update its so nice and smoothe ######### how does this happen opposite things both on the X.

No clue, but I know 30FPS when I see it and Dead by Daylight never ever ran at 30 locked. I only have around 74 hours on it but I know what 60 FPS looks like and it ran at 60 before this update. I'm genuinely confused too... have your fans been running loud as well or is it just me?

Okay wow. I'm playing right now on one x since the Update dropped and the console is quite as fk. I know when the console ramps Up.. modern warfare.. Lobby.. but dbd quite and smooth for me. No single drop. And it feels smoother than before. So i dont know what it is on your site :/

Are you playing the Blight? It felt very smoothe as him for 2 matches.
I switched to Doctor to test it and not nearly as smoothe.

Tell me exactly what you play so I can copy it and see how I notice it.
2 matches as Blight I had BEAUTIFUL framerate. Then I played as Doctor and it sucked. I'm guessing survivor? I will try one now.

Yep, every time. It could be my PC but I know there's alot of others in the same situation. Don't get me wrong, the graphics update is the right way forward with the gens, pallets and lockers getting a new look. It all looks beautiful but I don't think the optimization is quite there yet unfortunately.

So update... playing as meg could be the map or whatever but it seems like its not locked at 30 but it's mostly running near 30-40 fps now as before it was for sure 60. This update is weird. :l

Played Doc, Huntress, Oni because i main oni and blight. On the surv side everything. Played against blight, doc, clown, shape etc. Bedham Looks and runs great too. So No Problem. And the console is quite and smooth :( sorry to hear that your experience isnt that great

Performance has been improved. I knwo you're the type that assumes ah well, I have a terrible PC etc. But for me performance has been DRASTICALLY improved. Game plays smoother, much buggier than before but that's gonna happen.
Infact, Silent Hill really tore into my frames, but this update reversed that. Maybe not to pre-Silent Hill performance but still smooth.

I'm ps4, played as blight on coldwind, Yamoaka and badham, looks great.
Curious... Are you killer or survivor? What maps have looked laggy/chuggy?
Before update I couldn't play freddy on lamkin lane. Couldn't play wraith on most levels, and demogorgon or Oni on coldwind or hawkins because my fps were so low it would stutter any time a chase started.
So which maps and killers/survivors are you seeing issues with?

if you need to restart a game after every match that's a major design flaw. don't put the responsibility on the players, mate

I usually only play survivor and on the maps i've seen lag with it's pretty much all of them. None of them run in 60 anymore at least for me and that's the biggest deal as I enjoyed having this game run at 60 for most of the time I never really saw performance problems that often before the update but again I only have 74 hours into the game. (Which is still about a couple weeks worth of playtime when I would play daily) The performance degrade is extremely hard for me to get skill checks as a survivor main... it's 50/50 on whether or not i'll be able to even land a skill check now. It just feels slower now, and the main reason I know that is because of my lack of being able to land skill checks as often as I could before the update.
Obviously it'll run better on the newer consoles but still... kinda sucks for now. It shouldn't be an excuse to have poor frames for now on current consoles just because it'll run better for next gen. It should still be playable for the one x and the pro performance wise because when next gen releases it won't be fair... not to mention they added cross-platform which is useless unless you have good frames and your not worried about it.

If any given program that by design should enable its user to do multiple things in a row (matches in this case) suddenly requires to be restarted every time to do another thing, then something went wrong on the developers side.
Users should NOT have to do that.

I mean if that's what works then that's a major flaw on optimization... The game runs alright right now, just not how it was before. If the game runs like crap because of memory leaking then it needs to be fixed as it wasn't a problem before. At least for me.

It's not a work around it, the performance is 30-45 frames right off the bat... Literally loading into the game when you can move the circle cursor around isn't even as smooth as it was before. There's a real performance issue, and i'm pretty sure it's not memory leaking.

My ps4 isn't even pro. I am not super techy and I'm not sure how to check my frame rate on console. I just played as freddy on hawkins and had no issues except a glitch where it would keep restarting the hooking animation until they could wiggle free. Only on a hook near the exit. For the most part everything runs much smoother than any game since silent hill came out. Maybe my fps are lower and that's why it's running better on my end...
On one x how do you check frame rate?

Then my thread about this update (and the entire game itself) being unoptimized was very true. Even me, who runs every game 60+ FPS, I lost some FPS with this update. Lmao. I love DBD.

I never said anything about advocating for anything, your acting like people are attacking you personally when we're just saying what we experience. Calm down, this is a conversation not an arguement ; you came right off the bat saying someone was arguing with you with philosophy when all they said was that it was a design flaw and to not put the responsibility on the players. It's really not that serious.

I play on a 4 years old pc with 8GB ram and... don't really notice any fps drops? At least not more than before. The only thing different is that the lag I would get when certain sound effects are triggered seems to be gone.
I am playing with my friends atm and they haven't noticed anything either, despite them all having relatively 'old' computers.
