I thought dbd was horror not strategy
Kinda wish dbd pushed for more fun and less strategy, the game has found success with what it has because the idea of the game is amazing, but the execution is off.
I play SWF a ton but we play to chill out and have fun but often just get frustrated because everyone is sweat and using meta perks.
Wish there was some kind of a casual mode where rank isn't affected and you can just play for fun, but then the sweats will go to casual to stomp the people that just want to chill.
This game forces you to tryhard and use meta perks and it does not feel fun...and dont even get me started on the new player experience

I'd be in favour of a mode whereby you choose your character, but all perks, add-ons and offerings are randomized. This mode may also offer greater rewards as a result.

As much as I'd love that, I know my luck. Every game, I'd get Spies, Lightborne (with no flashlights), Iron Grasp, and Unrelenting, yet the one time I'd try it as survivor the killer would somehow get Pop, BBQ, Thrilling, and STBFL on Freddy.

Honestly, I do the samething. I dont mind letting all 4 escape on purpose or 0k being outplayed.
But its much better to "ha, I dominate u, I won" then let all of them escape, rather than receive some t-bag because of 0k.

Granted, luck would be involved. However, each perk has its own advantages, and learning how to use those perks effectively can result in being skilled in areas your typical Survivor/ Killer hasn't prepared for.
Ironically, I use a DBD Randomizer app for every match and it's impressive how people can 4K/ escape with even the most ridiculous perk combos with no synchronicity. Legitimately, your example of 4 Killer perks I've had on Hillbilly very recently and got a 3K against a mix ofnpurple and red ranks.
Perks do help, but skill and experience are far more effective. Plus, nothing better than escaping a trial with nothing but Slippery Meat as your aid :D

I do get what you mean. Maybe they could have coding in place that tiers the perks, so when they're randomized the percentage of getting a higher tier perk is less, or a code that only allows one perk to be selwcted from each tier?

Just play Kill Your Friends, or whatever it's called. Get one of your friends to be Killer. You can play as chill as you want if you don't bring strangers into it. ☺

There's a mode that's basically this on mobile but you're up against bots. It's a fun way to practice and play more casually while still earnings rewards at a reduced rate. It really should come to main game some day.
