Solo Survivor: How often do you contemplate whether randoms are worth your altruism?

For those that have played solo survivor will know you will get randoms with the seemingly combined IQ of 3, regardless whether you're at rank 1 or at rank 20. You'll either get a baby Meg/Meghead wasting all the pallets in the first 20 seconds, or a Nea urban evading at the edge of the map.

When playing solo survivor how often do contemplate whether those kind of team mates are worth your altruism? Is it worth your time and effort to unhook them, when time could be better spent repairing a generator?

Because with the Meg who was wasting pallets, now she's on the hook, she's no longer able to waste anymore pallets. Which may mean there would be more pallets on the map for the rest of the team to use.

Also if the Nea gets hooked, again is she worth your time saving? As she's being as productive towards the team's goal of escaping whilst on the hook, than she would be off. In fact the killer had to spend time carrying her to hook, arguable she was most useful when getting hooked. If you do unhook her, she'll go to just go back to the edge of the map to urban evade.

Would it have been more beneficial to the team, to just leave on the hook and just gen rush?

The Meg and the Nea are just examples, however a lot of randoms do play like this. Which is okay and understandable when they are at rank 20, but not when they're at red ranks (or even purple ranks).

Although my opinions differ when I'm playing killer, as regardless if a survivor is a potato or not they can still repair generators.

Comment your thoughts.

Depending on how much they contributed, I'll save. For example, a baby Meg who got downed within the first 10 seconds of her chase. Let's just say my gen was "close" to being finished.

But if it's someone who did over half the gens while me and another ran the killer, they get saved. I treat them like God. Randos barely do gens anymore. The ones i get anyways.

Every single match I argue with myself only to realise "wait I get Bloodpoints" and then I save them. So long as I don't get distracted by a gen.

I am a blendette main after all, I might as well live up to my nature and not save people.

I'm always altruistic. I don't care. Unless, that is, someone has been nothing but a toxic douchebag, in which case go die in a hook for all I care.

Depends on where I am in relation to the hook and if the killer is on me. Usually they are worth it to me, since Benevolence is a SHARED emblem and I am not de-ranking because of them!

I never let people die no matter how useless they are because first of all bloodpoints, second of all as long as their not wasting every pallet on the map, I always see a 4 man game better than a 3 man game

Sometimes in solo Q I will get gods who run the killer the entire game, and I will sacrifice myself to save them. Other times, the team is awful overall and I play to save myself.

I don't save anyone who I see camping shack pallet

Your chances of surviving is higher at 4 people, so even if I don't like someone, I always rescue off hook unless they're being camped (and it's not end of game) then RIP and thank you for your sacrifice.

Never. Because when you are solo it's easier to win via the hatch, than it is to complete the gens. When I play with 1 or more other people then we work out who saves when and always ensure at least 1 player is always on a gen.

I always try to save if I can, but I'm not gonna put my neck TOO far out for an awful player. It sucks to not get saved (I've had matches where I absolutely carried the team [somehow] and when I finally got hooked, nobody did anything to save me) but if you didn't add much value to the game AND there is a strong chance I'll get screwed over by saving you, someone else is gonna have to get you because it ain't gonna be me.

Gen rats get saved, looping sickos get saved, and people who saved/healed me always get saved. Otherwise, just not completely at the top of my priority list, especially if there are plenty of others left in the trial to possibly go for them.

Depend on the number of gens left, if there are a lot to finish you need distractions for the Killer to waste time, so you need teammates around, even if they last 20 seconds in a chase, also the next one the Killer sees and chases may be you and you need people repairing gens while you are getting chased, people who dont repair ANY gens at all are not that common and are almost as rare as the EVIL SWF SWAT Team, especially at the begining when there are 4 or 5 gens left to do, they may stop repairing when there are fewer gens for Hatch camping but at the start they are very rare.

If there is one or two gens and they are very bad I may forsake them, especially if the Killer is patrolling close to the hook, if the Exit Gates get powered I may attempt to save them and hope they are using Adrenaline.

With how often I see the typical Survivor self caring while affected by Sloppy Butcher on the other half of them map with Kindred.

And i'm the one having to go unhook or i'm hooked.

Might as well unhook the meat shield for bloodpoints I guess.

I'll always go for the save unless all gens are done. Then I won't if I'm injured and you didn't heal me (You had your shot!) or if the killer is camping and can't be persuaded to leave you and it's a killer that's a strong camper (Leatherface, Billy, Myers, Deathslinger, Pyramid Head)

I will kill myself before I leave a survivor to die. I don't care if it's a baby Dwight or a No0b3 wannabe Nea. Unless there is absolutely no way I can save without ensuring they can get out, or they were toxic to me earlier in the match (intentionally fast vaulting the window over and over again because I wouldn't give them the chest, for example).

There is LITERALLY only one time when I am not altruistic and that's when I basically unhook a survivor and that survivor runs off to a far away land before allowing me to heal. Believe me this happens a lot in red ranks surprisingly.

So I just stop caring and start focusing on a gen because there is WAY too much time lost in doing that and I even crouch spam or emote for them to stay in place.

If they dont understand that then sorry you're on your own unless I'm doing a healing challenge or ritual.

For me it depends on how "Lemming-Like" my allies have been.

If all of them reach death hook in under 30 seconds due to constantly trading each other on hook because they rescue before the Killer has had a chance to LEAVE the hook, I generally just leave them to their fate.

And then the Killer gets bitched at for camping and I get bitched at for not being a team player.

I believe in Darwinism in this game. I'll be altruistic provided it has some benefit for my survival. The moment I see that that's going to get me killed I'm out. That isn't to say I'll never attempt pull off a risky save, but it's all dependent on the stage of the match we're in at that moment.

Usually SWF treat me as a free points farm instead of a teammate. So in cases of obvious SWF, and that theyve mistreated me already, Ill simply stay on gens, and ignore them.

Depending on how out of my way it is. If they are hurt/hooked and near me I will help them. If they are on the other side of the map and I'm doing a gen I'm not going to help.

if the random has a funny name, or was a good meme in the pre-game chat, ill try to help them. (This of course results in console players getting less help from me since they cant meme at me)

Or if they end up helping me, ill help them too.
