My thoughts about dbd tournament
Survivors in general complains about camping and tunneling, but from what I saw, when money is at stake, the best strat you have againts survivors is,down 1 as fast as possible.Hook him, possibly camp him to death, bait survivors into rescuing, tunnel the survivor you hooked him so you can take him out of the game as fast as possible, even if he has ds,its still worth taking the risk from what I saw. Then snowball. If dbd will ever have a competitive scene I feel like this is gonna be the main strat if nothing is done about it.
You can check the tournament here and see for yourself how the pretty much all killers used this tactic.

While survivors complain about Camping and Tunneling which are both legit strats of course, Killer complain about genrush all the time. It goes both ways.
You know what my thoughts are right now after seeing round 2 (No suprise for me, but for many apparently):
The only argument killer mains bring all the time is "SWF is OP" but this tournament one more time shows that not even that is true. Killer are dominating, most games 2 or more kills. Even Wraith and Plague can destroy the best of the best teams on coms.

True,in tournament I was surprised to see so many nurses, but it kinda makes sense, nurse can be crazy good in the hands of right players but crazy bad in the hands of a casual player that does good with an m1 killer for example. Also I think the fact survivors we're not allowed to have more than 2ds per match was a huge factor, either way genrush is what you ultimately have to do as a survivor, this is why i'm frustrated when I play soloq as survivor,no one does gens, they just run around until they get downed then the other 2 survivors run around to go for the save and get downed as well, lol.

the only real takeaway is this game is in no way tournament ready.
Lacking any real support, there’s no proper spectate for killers, no map seeding, bugs like DS stun lasting 1 second, insane skill gaps within teams themselves, wack scoring etc
it’s cool they did it, but bhvr themselves need to add support for it to go anywhere

Maybe in the future, but knowing BHVR,that's too much work.

The most sad thing is how little bhvr care about it to the point that hexy doesn't even want to do another one.

I honestly dont know what BHVR goal with this game is lol.

Most of those teams were not actually competitive. Just saying.

Aren’t tournament rules that survivors can’t just run the same perks?
So no survivor is full meta, and so they are weaker than regular games where 4 survivors can be full meta, you know, those matches people complain about?
I’m not surprised about killers “dominating” if that’s the case, arguably they deal with worse odds to win than those on the regular and without second chances everywhere, snowball can begin sooner
survivors still dictate the match in the beginning tho, all it takes for the killer to lose it’s a slow start
also, aren’t tournament rules to score the killer based on hooks instead of kills? The tunneling part sounds weird

dbd competitive is not really a thing yet at least, but I think they all played decently good

To be fair a lot of killers had NOED to counter genrush and survivors were limited to 2 of each perk per team.
Also wraith had his all seeing add on lol
2 -
They were all good players that would probably wreck normal teams... But the reason DBD isn't competitive is because nothing beats spreading out, popping 3 gens, then stacking on the last 2 to avoid regression

Yeah but to be fair you know, dbd is always gonna be filled with bugs. So I guess now is as good a time as any.

Except its not really showing the game at its fullest. There are restrictions on both sides that are not in the base game to make things fair or to give certain killers a chance.
2 -
not to mention that map was so situational for wraith,if it was any other map the outcome would have been different

Oh boy here it is. Killer main running out of excuses so lets just play the "but they actually were trash" card. Holy ######### its getting really old. Just deal with it mate.

Name the "bad teams" of round 2. I dont have to have my eyes checked, played against one or the other of them and let me tell you, all SWF teams on regular base players like you play against (and complain how op they are) are trash compaired with even the "worst" of those teams. Just makes me laugh how the "pros" here lay back and talk ######### when they probably are just some random noobs who will never reach skillelvel that is nearly on that level.

Well, from the 1 time I clicked his stream, he's #2. He was screaming/ talking ######### to donators trying to make it seem like the notification was messing him up, so the dumbasses fell for it n kept donating.

this game just isnt tournament ready yet, we still need map seeding proper spectator mode and a matches without the amount of bugs live servers have

Bro, I honestly couldn't believe that meg. Like how are you in the best of the best tournament and never look behind you in a chase?

competitive dbd could make them a lot of $$$

That’s true. IIRC they were told of the map before they picked their killer.

I mean if you're gonna call it killers "dominating" when nearly every match is camping the first hook to death then scraping one more as everyone leaves, then sure.
I'm not saying there is a perfect way to score matches that accurately assesses winning and losing in a tournament, but I'm certain that we'd see completely different gameplay if unhooking had some form of point value. As it is, the best option points-wise is to get all the gens done asap then get as many people out as possible. Risking anything to fight a camp just hands points to the other team if you trade, while giving your own team nothing.
Also as stated, killers are able to run any build they like, which is almost uniformly 3-4 stalling perks or end game punishing perks, and nearly every match all 5 gens still go off. Survivors on the other hand are limited to 2 copies of any perk within the squad, meaning we're not seeing 4 second chances on everyone, and killers have the choice to make riskier plays like tunnelling because it's only 50/50 that they can be DSed.

That's true as well, i hope they do balance the game more lol i'm not against it!
