How quickly I went from “Blight is terrible!” to “Blight is incredible!”.
Oh the amusement.
Oh the irony.
I previously ranted that Blight was frustrating, far too difficult, didn’t make sense, and “why bother?!”. Like I just didn’t see the point to Blight at all, and 99% of matches were miserable the first few days.
I don’t know why I persisted despite really disliking him and not having any fun at all. But I’m glad I did persist.
He’s just incredible to play now. Fun. Tense. Exhilarating. I love how survivors simply cannot get away from you. You can always catch right up to them very quick no matter what tricks they pull.
Oh and nothing feels sweeter than a lethal rush they attempted to juke only to still hit them. Oh so sweet.

The amount of "I told you so" that is going to be going around the community in a week already has me cringing. I'd be willing to bet that you are only the first of very, very many to wake up to Blight's capabilities.

I just told myself to ignore everyone saying Blight was weak in the beginning. Mobility is a huge part of what makes a top tier in this game and Blight has ridiculous amounts of it, along with being able to keep up in chases really well. That's ignoring his add-ons that some people already consider to be borderline OP (his GREEN aura reveal add on... WHEW!)
I just could never see him being bad with his kit lmao; hard to learn, sure, but bad? Nuh-uh.
@TheClownIsKing , glad to see you have changed your mind about him, especially after seeing all your posts saying you didn't like him! I haven't played Blight yet (swearing off killer until cross platform progression frees me from the Switch cross play killer hellscape) but he does look incredibly fun to play as.

I'm really glad to hear this.
This is why we always request people to not make snap judgements about things and try things out to give it a chance.
I think The Blight is a lot of fun to play and play against, it just does take some time to get used to playing as him - his skill cap is pretty large I think.

Blight is definitely the most challenging killer to date. Requires lots of patience, but it’s totally worth it.

I still don't think he is good on Console. I think he'll end up like Oni, good on PC, but bad on the Consoles. I can't remember the last time I saw a Xbox Oni, but hey, if you are enjoying him, good for you :D

Its understandable, his high skill cap combined with his pathetic ptb version gave a very large amount of people a negative impression.

Frankly, I think Blight has some SERIOUS potential to contest the title of "Best Killer" which has been held in an iron-clad grip by Nurse since the dawn of her existence, even to this day.
High mobility is key in the Killer meta, and paired with the right perks, hoo boy, Blight is a force to be reckoned with. Especially since his mobility gives him huge flexibility for totem defender builds.

I felt exactly as you did. But don’t give up. Eventually you’ll have a match where how he works just falls into place for you. It’s also a good idea to not try using the power at loops until you feel very confident in controlling his power

I’m playing on PS4 and I’m coping fine (now anyway). It really just falls down to keeping a cool head during a slam to look and reposition before launching into another rush. Slam duration add ons has definitely helped me practice not “panicking” and spamming another rush prematurely before I know/decided where I’m going.

Blight is kinda terrible on console though. He plays like a cement truck at 90 mph, and is just as hard to control.
If I wanted a killer who is faster and can down people quickly, Id pick Demo, ironically enough.

Maybe its just all the sweaty red ranks I keep getting, but he just feels so limited, like, why cant he swing after hitting a wall? If the survivor runs close to you, to avoid getting downed in a rush, the killer shouldn't just stand there like an idiot until he goes into cooldown...

I really want to like Blight, I really do, but he just feels so clunky on console and I feel like there is no situation where I'm ever able to hit Lethal Rush unless the survivor is just running forward cause they can turn and react to it so easily. Please bestow upon me your knowledge of how to play Blight on console, cause I really wanna main him :(

I also thought he was bad, but yeah he's pretty strong.
There is one problem though...survivors are learning to dodge when he is using his lethal rush and since he can barely turn, sooner or later most survivors will be easily able to completely ignore his offensive part of the power.

Predict, don't react. Lead the hit. It's like playing a ranged killer - you don't aim where they are at, you aim where they are going to be.

I think (still figuring it out) is to anticipate that they will attempt a dodge, so go for an additional rush while they’re (hopefully) a little disorientated from spinning their camera and sidestepping a lot.
That said, at loops I just loop normally. I use rush between tiles to catch them out on their attempts to reach the next tile.

In fact this is one of the reasons I did a post praising the slam duration add ons. Until it’s learned how to “snap decision” on predicting where the survivor is going, and where best to rush/slam to next, the slam duration add ons help give more time to assess what’s happening/where the survivor is going, and think about the terrain.
They’re a great learning tool until naturally getting faster at that thought process and reaction process.

Sad thing is, people don't change ^^ I still hear the echoes from last chapter, when everyone cursed on PH punishment attack because noone was able to hit people in open fields :P
Potential, but I think nothing will ever beat nurse (a good nurse) since her power simply breaks the whole game mechanic. As strong as he is, there is counterplay and several tiles that he simply can't use his power on. Nurse has ALWAYS the ability to end chases within 15 seconds on every tile, and that is pretty hard to top

That is true, people saying he was bad really just didn't want to invest time into him since his potential is 100% there (even though I REALLY wouldn't say no to a better lunge, although it is definitely not neccesary).
My only problem with him are the bugs he still has and how sometimes its impossible to bump into stuff. I am really excited for the bugfix we will get and REALLY hope that they will iron this out, making him WAY less frustrating.

He's incredible. I win match after match after match with him. And when I lose it always feels like it's because I went against a really great team. Or occasionally get a really unfortunate map, but that's all part of the game. I try not to get upset at bad maps because when I play as a survivor I can feel my soul wither away when I enter a huge dead zone, so I know bad maps affect everyone.

Yeah, I am a little concerned about him becoming another Nurse. A frustrating, unfun Killer to learn... but a borderline unstoppable powerhouse killer with very limited counterplay once mastered. But we'll see how it goes.

Still learning Blight, but he is definitely fun with the right mindset.
Some Killers really need to lean into mindgames and bait out a bad play. Blight is on the entire opposite end. He feels like he works best when you frantically chase like a maniac and brutally mow people down. There is still a little bit of nuance to try and coax them away from certain tiles which can be a pain to work around, but if you cut them off and make that tile a death sentence... it's still a death sentence.
For those that are having issues with his Lethal Rush, not only should you predict where they are going, but also remember the wind up time, their movement, and the speed you are going. His lunge works better when you set it off a LITTLE earlier than what feels normal. His travel speed factors in and you should land nearly on them. Also keep in mind he has a VERY generous hit radius around him.
Right now, his biggest issue is his camera. Being so short makes seeing scratch marks harder. Freshly cut grass almost looks like corn for him, and corn looks like a forest. That also makes it much easier to lose Survivors in dense foliage, so you need to keep an eye out for the odd color or movement.
Before Blight came out, I said I felt he'd be better than Legion. Got some backlash for that. I still stand by that, and I think others are beginning to see the same potential I saw.
Lastly, good or not, Blight is hilarious. Watching him hook and then face plant off walls made me nearly die in a Struggle phase because I was laughing too much. He's a good boy.

Yeah the FoV is the only issue I have. I can quite literally lose people I’ve downed in grass because of the limited angle I can look down while searching for them.

Well, that's a fair argument. But even still, the fact that a Killer actually has the POTENTIAL to be as strong as Nurse in at least most situations is somewhat terrifying to think about.
He has his flaws, yes, and Nurse has minimal flaws, but considering she outright says "No." to loops in general, unless Blight could go the way of the Left 4 Dead Hunter, I don't see anyone else who could top her outright.

Most of killer is prediction. Unlike Spirit, who is basically a guessing game because you cannot see her, you can kee your eye on a survivor, get a feel for how they run, and predict, based on what you have seen, what they are going to do next. That's how looping works. It's the same principle wrapped up in a power.

he is good, you just have to be really good at his power however survivors can still juke it but you catch up quickly
i have a love hate relationship because of that. on one point you have amazing traversal and unless they see it coming its hard to dodge. on the other hand you can be dodged and denied a hit by the survivor circling an object or doing a hard preemptive turn but your on them right away anyway.
there are also REALLY cheeky hits you can land like at shack, you slam into the door way opposite of the pallet and if the gen is not there the survivor is in the open and patience can get you the hit. there are other examples of this like at the big shack in swamp on the top floor and im sure a good amount of others im unaware of. i do think i will keep playing him even if i lose because he is fun, unique, and potentially strong, we just have to learn him.

I was struggling with adept because I was trying to use his power everytime I see survivor. So I kept failing chases in tight loops.
Then I realised how his power makes him strong. He is good for covering distances. So I strated to use his power for searching survivors and when distance is short I could play like normal m1 killer. Breaking a pallet is not a wasting time for this killer. Once he break a pallet he can rush and hit survivor before he managed to reach next tile. Also his fatigue is almost instant. So if smart survivor hide behind tree he still in danger because blight just qickly cancel his power and hit him normally. His 10 seconds power recovery (or even less) much faster than spirit's. It's makes him always ready for battle.
Good Blight is a crazy maniac who doesn't let survivors to take a breath.
But things might change after terror radius is back.

I think he is pretty much the same/comparable as Spirit. Fast movement speed while in power and can't vault/kick in the meantime. One minor difference is that he has less maneuverability while having the power last longer. And a major difference that you can see him, having fair interaction in chases :P
I think he has higher traversal speed (in power and base speed) while she is stronger in ending chases quickly. So the question is what weighs more. But in my opinion this evens out and they are on the same level. Not counting in addons

Just played my first two matches with him and I can say pip or no pip hes got to be one of the funest killers to play. Intense chase music, fun play dynamics that reward you for good reads and strategy. I can only imagine once I get some more time into him how intense matches will be. I just hope the devs don't decide to mess with him to much. I haven't played against him yet so, I have to judge from both sides before I make a final verdict. Either way amazingly entertaining playstyle and very skillful to play things I personally enjoy in a killer.

He's just the right kind of powerful. Take Pyramid Head as an example of another decently powerful killer. He's powerful in the sense that he plays a bit unfair. He puts you into many lose lose situations. However, because Pyramid Head can't get around the map he can be beaten if survivors simply force chases to the corners of the map.
Blight on the other hand is decently fair when presented with a loop. If he gets you at a loop with his power then it feels like the blight earned it. And many times the survivor can make a play that sends blight to another dimension allowing them to escape from him entirely.
What makes Blight powerful is that his ability is amazing at map traversal, unlike Pyramid Head you're not going to lose a match because you were brought to the far end of a map and his ability can be used at loops (once you learn how). That's actually my favorite thing with the Blight, learning how to use his power at specific tiles.

His 30 degrees turning kills him yes he’s fun yes he has incredible map pressure but his chase sucks just turn right or go around a corner or really anything and he can’t hit you give him a flick

Yeah... With mindgames, and basic ones at that. Quick red-glow switches and directional faking that gain significant distance and force the pallet drop much quicker. What do you do, Bloodlust it? That takes forever.

You don't even need to predict survivors when attacking out of a lethal rush, if you swing early it's really hard to dodge because of its wide hitbox.

I recall posting in one of the many Blight rants that it was too soon to judge him. I stated my opinion is that he has a steep learning curve, but once you got him down, he is potent as all get out. My suggestion was it was too early to make any real judgements. I still feel that way. I think a minimum of a month in the wild is required to really weigh in with any credibility about him
