Cosmetic locks?
I'm not understanding why suddenly how we customize our characters is being controlled, and it bugs me. I have spent TONS of money on/in this game. I should be able to wear Kate's flower crown with her leather jacket. I'm actually really pissed off that suddenly original characters' cosmetics are being locked as a set. I understand Cheryl Mason and other licensed characters. But Kate? Oni? Let us have our fun with customizations. I'm BIG mad that Kate's oktoberfest cosmetics are locked, as a Kate main who was extremely excited for these new cosmetics. Just needed to express that. I feel a bit screwed over with how much money I spend between cosmetics, the rifts, DLCs, etc. And now I can't even customize my survivor how I want to? Not a fan of it.

I didn't say I don't like them, I'm saying I don't like that they're locked. Did you even read?

OR they can just stop trying to control how we customize our characters 🤷♀️

who cares?? they made locked skins to make you spend 10$ flat. Apparently too many people for their likings bought only some pieces. Also, there's an excuse they invented about cosmetic clipping that nobody really cares, but ehi, money over all.

I don't like the new direction either, why should I pay MORE for a skin with LESS customisation? I get if it's a themed skin like some of Cheryl's, but the Nea one? It's down to laziness of the devs with greed for more money. Don't like it, don't buy it, but as the consumers we are allowed to air our concerns/dislikes.

Yeah, it's super annoying that we can't use the head cosmetics with other outfits. Kate and Jane both have head cosmetics locked into their set that should absolutely not be part of the set. I really don't understand why every set HAS to be a 3 piece set...

Locking Jane's and even Nea's heads I dont understand. Kate's has longer hair that would 100% clip with her cowboy hat and backpack so they're likely trying to avoid that.

Clearly many people care. There's no shortage of money on this game, they have tons of players who spend tons of money. They've started getting greedy and it's going to cost them.

Let us decide though. They have tons of cosmetics that look wonky as hell, clearly her hair being clipped by a cowboy hat won't change anything.

Neas Head looks horrible from the back. But even if they would fix that, the Hoodie would clip with the long Hairstyles of her.
In general, the lock of Cosmetics gives some possibilities which were not possible before. Kates Hair is an example, it is longer than usual.

I feel like if that's the case they should be able to figure out a way to make it work with all cosmetics, or don't release them.

There's a technical reason for Linked Sets: they allow the art/design team to make more detailed cosmetics that would otherwise not be possible due to extreme clipping problems when combined with other cosmetics.
I think they mentioned in the most-recent Dev Q&A that they might be considering de-linking some cosmetics from these sets that wouldn't necessarily be incompatible with other cosmetics (such as linked killer weapons and survivor head-pieces). I believe they also want to eventually add alternate voices and animations to some of the Legendary Linked sets (like Lisa Garland and MinOnitaur) to better justify their price tags.
Regardless, they are only part of the future of DbD cosmetics, not the whole thing. If they aren't currently fitting your fancy, just don't spend money on them. With any luck, we'll achieve a better compromise on just how many parts of these sets have to be linked together.

Or you just accept that not every Cosmetic will be free for mix&match in the future. Sets will be a thing in the future, and (at this point, at least) more Cosmetics will be available for mix&match anyway.

I'm not saying unlock the hoodie. The hoodie should be locked to just that head. They just need to give the head a buzz cut in the back and we could use it with anything without issue.

It's not going to change anything but the devs obviously don't like it and don't want it in their game enough to lock cosmetics like these.

Sure, but some existing heads or outfits can clip terribly already. Players shouldn't be restricted just because something clips clips with certain outfits. If that were the case, we probably would have Nea's Stockholm Syndrome outfits locked as sets since the skirt clips terribly with some of Nea's clothing.
I just don't think that a flawless cosmetic system that allows absolutely no clipping is a good thing to strive for in this game. Unless the devs implement a feature that hides the piece of whatever that's clipping through another piece, that can only be achieved by severely limiting cosmetic choices

Nea head looks fine lol, its all subjective anyway
not to mention...you can use full sets anyway, if it clips, oh well, its not like its been a contentious issue before
