As a Killer, how often do you let the last survivor escape?

Generally if I've had fun the whole match, and they haven't been trolling me and actually trying to play the right way I will often give the last survivor the hatch or close hatch and let the last one escape.

I see it as a sign of respect, like okay. You've played a fair game, you've evaded me, managed to escape and you haven't been toxic about it. Go on Lil one get out of here.

Most of the time when it's a clear mismatch on Nurse. I have a lot of games where survivors only get one or two gens done against Sloppy/Agitation/Rancor/BBQ with no add ons. I usually carry the last one to the hatch.

No teabagging, no flashlight spamming, you helped your team, I got a 3k, you're getting hatch, don't worry. EDIT: Unless you struggle on my wrasp...

Rarely. I usually do it if they're clearly inexperienced and it was an easy win. In a well-fought game I'll almost always just hook the last one and be done with it.

I do it pretty often. If killing that last Survivor won't cost me a Pip and/or they earned it and only got caught by me because of some fluke (body blocked by their own team or other such nonsense) I'll let them go. Sometimes I make it clear by downing them and then just letting them out. But sometimes, I just let them escape.

Sometimes I've been out played and the last Survivor is the only one I could get or did get down, and killing them isn't going to do anything to save my game. I just don't see the point in being spiteful. *Caveat if someone was being intentionally obnoxious to me I might still hook them. By in large, if the last Survivor is just the unlucky one of a team that kicked my butt, I'm going to let them go. I want to truly earn my kills.

Either hatch or an open door

About half the time, depending on who's left and where the hatch is. If the hatch is right next to me I will close it, but sometimes let them open the gate.

If someone dced i used to go easy on them but then they changed it so if someone dcs at the loading screen the match ends. Now if someone dcs they probably quit. At that point i do not go easy because i want them to be angry. Not at me but their teammate who screwed them. Hoping they will make a thread about quitters. If enough threads exist then maybe the devs will punish quitters more than they do now.

I had. A match yesterday, seemed like a 2 man team and 2 solos, one of the 2 man team was trolling so I downed him, then both of them quit. So I just played around let the last 2 survivors farm bp off me ( I already had my BP up) then opened the gate for them and let them leave

pretty much for the same reason as others above.

sometimes i even let otherwise annoying survivors go if they managed to make me laugh (S/O to the Nea and david who tried to get into the same locker for quite a bit while my Deathslinger was standing very clearly in the doorway... I still feel like I interrupted something)

If I have dominated they get the hatch.

If I hear the hatch when I am carrying the last person to the hook, they can have it.

Other than that, it's a 4k. I am not one for searching all over to find a hatch when I can be in the next game.

Yeah, I do this too. It is pointless to punish the Players that had the guts to keep playing when the losers DC.

If they did not annoy me, I usually let the last one escape through a gate. Or I'm beat in the hatch run, thats also fine.

as im currently farming as many BP as i can, i try to get a 4k if i can, just for the sake of the bonus points.

usually though i dont really care. if one makes it out, good for them, but if i can get a 4k, good for me.

i only really actively give hatch when i feel like they eigther deserved it by playing really well or someone ragequit (has to be limited to 1 to 2 though, otherwise i got to go for the kill just so i dont have to fear depipping).

Depends! If they outplayed tf out of me than I'll let them live! If it was a meh game or I'm feeling generous I'll let the last survivor pick their fate! They wiggle they die, they don't wiggle they live

Sometimes I like to follow the horror movie rule of one person escaping.

If its a Dweet I'll usually let them live. Or if their team was screwed by some dc's.

Never. I find it funny how often killers give pity hatch compared to how often survivors give pity kills.

I don’t usually give them the hatch but I give them a chance. As in I don’t slug for the 4k because its kinda boring. Then its whoever finds hatch first which often seems to be them.

If they had a DC, or a noob team then I give hatch. Or maybe if it walk past it.

Other day I got the last survivor down as the other died on the hook. I picked them up and the second I picked them up the hatch spawned right under them lol I let them have the hatch because it was almost fate

Alot. Survivors are very thankful when you give them hatch. I've gotten tons of thank yous from giving hatch (even more than salt as a matter of fact) so I'll continue to do it. Also have made quite a few cool friends by giving hatch as well so yeah.

    Ditto here.

I'll give hatch if someone DCs early and screws their team. I'll also give hatch around half the time if the game is chill and everyone was having fun.

    Was anyone BMing? No hatch.

Team full of potatoes? No hatch. I feel for them, but I don't want to reward root-vegetable players who somehow make it to purple ranks without learning where pallets spawn. They'll just have to depip so they can go against weaker killers. On the other hand, if there's one competent solo player who gets matched with the goober squad I'll let him go.

    Oh! I forgot!

If you boop my snoot or donate your item to the entity you may leave. It's amazing how few survivors think to try this.

Always depends, if this wasn't a sweat team and you've been nice, also dropping your item as a offering might help me decide to let you live.
