Survivors - No means no!
Yet again I'm in match, get unhooked by someone who then is so determined to heal me that I have to shake them off 5 times.
For goodness sake, if the unhooked player wants to get away from the hook before healing, let them! So many killers return to the hook when someone is rescued, especially if they are near by. If they shake you off and keep running, respect it! They may want to get away to heal incase the killer is running nurses calling, or just want to get out of the open before healing up. They may be running perks which work better when they don't heal.
This survivior (a David) chased me, grabbing me repeatedly as I move to get distance fromthe hook, with me having to shake him off. I made it to a safer place to heal and healed myself (by this point I wasn't prepared to give him the healing points) and David proceeded to move around me, teabagging to get my attention before finally getting the message and running off, only to get caught by the killer a couple of minutes later.
In the time he was trying to grab me and teabagging, he could have been half way through a gen. Points afer the match showed he barely did anything, a waste of time and a useless team mate.
Heal people if they want/need it but respect surivvors when they say no!

Yeah there may be situations like yours where the unhooker shouldn’t heal..
but there are many many situations where it is obvious that the killer wouldn’t come back and someone uses sprint burst to get away from me to slowly self heal in the corner. I got We‘ll make it most of the times on me.
if you do that all the time, of course your teammates get less points and you get your self heal points. Points are not the only way to tell if someone was productive or not. There are games where i mostly waste time of the killer therefore getting not many points in altruism or lightbringer, doesn’t mean I was useless.

Congratulations, you're the exact reason everybody hates self care and solo in general.

If I know the killer is not coming back - as in they're chasing/hooking someone at the other end of the map, I don't mind letting other's heal, or me healing them if the situation is reversed. In this particular instance, that wasn't the case. As I was playing in a 3 man SWF, we knew exactly what this David had been doing and it was very little. He certainly wasn't trying to run the killer, or complete gens. He did manage to draw the killer's attention to others in the team though.
As for points, if you're running the killer, you're getting chase and bold points and other players will know that's what you're doing - and of course, if you're skilled enough to run the killer while others pop gens then you're a great team player and definitely not useless. I wish there were more like you.

Bill has a long history of healing people at inappropriate times.
Now hol' still and let me heal ya.

I hate people who come into matches without healing perks or the means to heal themselves then coming running up to other players to demand healing, when the killer is hot on their heels. Those kinds of players get us all killed. Our SWF team has been screwed over by solo/random players so much these last few weeks we treat them all with a degree of suspicion.
Sorry to the good solo players who actually contribute - I know you guys are out there somewhere, I just wish you were getting into our matches.

Run No Mither. If they continue to follow you, you can suicide on hook and move on.

I remember reading a few days ago on this forum that when you hold shift or something that they can't force you into being healed? Someone would need to confirm this.

That is correct and I think even holding w is supposed to stop the heal.

I'm on PS4 so that wouldn't work for me. All we can do is shake the control sticks to try and move off but it' not always very effective, but they can still keep grabbing and pin you back in place. It took me a few attempts to get some distance to prevent the grab long enough that I could get into cover.

Holding w moves you forward after a bit, but they can begin again. holding shift instantly forces them to let go of you and they cannot heal you again.

Yeah that’s true. Also true while being in dying state. Doesn’t work if you intentionally don’t sprint to avoid scratch marks though
(there was also a bug that prevented healing altogether and I have been accused of trolling With the Sprint button because someone couldn’t heal me)

Not on PS4 - we can only wiggle the control sticks and try to break free but the other player can just grab again unless you can force a bit of distance between you.

Good to know, thanks :)

Hold run. Problem solved.
No worries :)

Are you sure? Playing on PC but with a controller. Shift is just the run button, so try that..

I will try that, thank you for the suggestion.

Ah sorry didn't know. How do you sprint on console, L3 like most other games?
And this again proves my point that this forum needs some form of context of the members and what they play on and where they play from.
So many discussion leads to misunderstandings or point have no meaning depending on what and where on the globe you are playing.

From my experience I think it's LB however I rebound it almost immidiately so I'm not 100%

That's a good point and easy to forget to include. One forum I used to use had a signature slot, we could include stuff like this which really helped when you were trying to offer advice to other players.

Exactly. My old clan forum even head a slot for games played and so on. I made a thread but it stayed empty.

Self care is a selfish perk you can run better perks to help your team in many other ways.
Many times healing right after being unhooked is the best way but if you don't feel safe just point it out to a safe location.
I always play swf and none of us use self care. This is a perk for beginners until they get used to take a hit and escape from the killer.
Plus if you have a solo he doesn't know your agenda and perks you're running. It can be frustrating but I'm sure he was also frustrated for trying to help you after he was the one who unhooked you. Maybe he was a baby survivor.
After unhook someone if they don't want to be healed right away I just let they do whatever they want and most of the time they get caught injured while trying to self heal themselves which takes longer.
Just food for thought.
