what is your experience with blight? is he this powerful? are people just not good with him yet? on paper he sounds like this. is he due for a nerf?

Terrible comparison.
- He is super low to the ground to the point that on some maps the aura reading is required to even see anything
- He can't go through walls
- He can't turn/flick while using his power
- He sucks at loops (his strength is in between them)
Nurse is better in every single way with the exception of aura reading. But nurse is so good that you just run 4 information perks on her and dominate every game anyway (I'm a nurse main with 1k hours AMA)

He is a solid killer with some sick perks and add ons. Overall a really fun addition to the game.
Two changes I would like to see however are:
Removing the scoring event for revealing people who should have their aura's hidden with compound 21.
Improve his flick.
Edit: Fix his POV, this might be a bug issue however.

Like so what if he sees auras he can’t hit you with his power cuz all you have to do is step 1m to the right or left and boom he misses easiest counter in the game. The only ones who would have a problem with blight are baby survivors and they need to get good before anyone takes their advice.

watching people play him i get the sense that his dash is similar to billy in controls and switches to nurse blink window type event when you hit something is this not true?

There is a similar glide found in oni and billy, and a similar "grace period" as found in the nurse, but it feels more angular and rigid than those killers.

By reducing the radius and time in half, you can argue that the total area of exposure was actually reduced to an eighth of what it was.

This is every blight and common knowledge because of his lack of turning even with double turn add ons a lot of the actual good players have already learned this and just side step when he is dashing at you cuz it’s always a miss and fatigue

Of course for you nurse is better in any way because you have 1k hours on her.
I don't even have 1k hours in this game in total, so playing nurse for me is just instant lose almost every time.

cutting to 8 meters and 3 seconds is a bit much. They should do something like 12 meters and 4 seconds. Or keep it at 16 meters but when he stops rushing he loses the aura reading.

Point i'm making though is that once survivors get used to him, hes going to be a solid mid tier. He still gets looped like wraith, billy, freddy etc. The difference is instead of being a little better at loops like freddy, or having a 1 hit down like billy, or having the element of surprise like wraith, he gets to be much better in between loops and with map pressure.
TBH i think he is a solid counter to the gen rushing meta, which is probably why people are complaining about him. You can't just rush gens against him, especially someone running his optimal build of Undying/Ruin/Tinkerer/anything else.
Nurse, spirit, hag and huntress/oni (to an extent) are still the best killers in the game because they can't be looped traditionally. Nurse is just the worst offender because she basically breaks the game with her power. The other 4 at least have some kind of counterplay around them (yes spirit has counterplay)

IMO gen rush still works on blight. The reason why he seems to be able to stop gen rush is because he can utilise ruin undying tinkerer combo the best. High mobility alone is not enough to stop gen rush.
As for nurse, she does have counterplay.. also, good nurse is extremely rare.. I have yet against a nurse that can kill more than 2 people since her nerf..

At first people did awful with him but now I've met some really good blight players.
Playing against blight is fun for me, he takes skill to play well.
As for nurse the only comparable thing between them is the skill required to do well with them.
While we're talking about nurse I'll just say that it would be so good to have more blinks as her base power. 2 is just so limited. Like I get that it's strong but not many people can play her well.
That's it really, the blight hasn't been out long enough to give a full rundown on his overall performance. Especially since he's already having an addon or whatever changed.

Yes. Torn bookmark let's you blink everywhere you can directly see. For example, in the game map, you can blink upstairs from those holes in the ground too

Ever since Otz talked about hag being strong, everyone has been jumping on the hag bandwagon. She's very overated. The fact that you NEED decent addons immediately tells you that she's addon reliant, and the fact that the best and most effective way to play her is by playing scummy really shows something. It's not an achievement when you 1 hook ppl in basement as hag because theres no way of getting them out. Plus a good team knows how to keep popping traps and rendering her power useless, as well as how to counter her power in chase, which just involves running to another loop everytime she puts a trap down.

Its not that since Otz said it then people mindlessly followed his opinion, it has always been known that hag is very strong. Scott for example has always said she's strong.
She has insane snowball and chase potential if she decently places her traps which, unlike trapper's, have no downsides, and unlike you said, she's not addon dependant at all. I'd actually argue that she needs another addon pass, as her add-ons make her insanely stronger and even more of a crutch than she already is (yes I'm looking at you rusty shackles and mint rag)
The reason why 'suddenly' people realized is because she is not a very played killer (since let's be honest, she boring to play and to verse for most people) but was effectively used during that tournament.

The only killers that aren't addon reliant are nurse and freddy. Every other killer needs some kind of addon to be good. Depending on the killer it might not be so bad. For example, all pig needs is combat straps. All Demo needs is the rat liver. Without it though, Demo is trash. Pig can get by, but her stealth game is much weaker.
The rest require addons:
Trapper - Needs bags
Wraith - Needs windstorm
Billy - Needs turning addons
Nurse - Is best with Kav's breath/Fragile wheeze but can go without any addons
Myers - Needs more stalking speed.
Hag - Needs trap teleport distance
Doctor - Needs Shock speed
Huntress - Needs windup speed
Bubba - Needs chainsaw movement speed
Freddy - Is best with Chains/Rope but can go without anything
Pig - Really likes Combat straps/Dash charge speed
Clown - Needs reload speed increase
Spirit - Needs either power movement speed or power recharge rate
Legion - Needs Frenzy duration
Plague - Needs an apple
Ghostface - Needs power recharge
Demo - Needs shred movement speed
Oni - Needs Charge windup speed
Deathslinger - Needs reload speed
PH - Needs m2 range increase
Blight - Needs compound 21.
Arguably a few killers can go without but they are significantly less effective. Pig can probably go without her addons. Ghost face probably an too. But 75% of them are terrible without their best addon.

Spirit needing addons? Sorry but that's the silliest thing i've ever heard. She's already insane. Oni with charge addons is broken. Actually alot of these killers addons you mentioned actually break the killer and make them insane. Like i said i play almost every killer without addons and have no problem consistently winning. They honestly aren't that nescasery, as to why they are called "add-ons".

Blight's just another Killer that's great on PC but a nightmare on console. What good is Compound 21 when you can't even control your Rushes or see Survivors?
Also his Rush is bugged after getting stunned. The button prompt won't show up and it won't activate even while you have control. If you release the button, the Rush activates on its own when the prompt reappears, which can ruin your entire chase. The action bug existing makes this hurt you a lot.

Hag actually isn't that addon dependant cause there is not that much difference between her lower rarity and higher rarity addons iirc

I'm assuming a lot of survivors dont know this add on exists still. I see a staggering amount of teammates just assume the BLight made a mistake running up to that rock, bumping, looking around for a few seconds, doing a cooldown animation and then immediately hitting them round a corner. It's incredible.

If your playing completly without addons then your handicapping yourself for no reason
Being addon dependent only applies to green and up. It's really not that hard to always have brown or yellows available, especially when multiple are usefull
Especially green addons are a nightmare with how many green offerings there are

That's besides the point. If you can't play a killer or struggle to play a killer without addons, then that's called being addon reliant. For example, billy is one of the couple of killers i run addons with because without cooldown addons, i overhear the chainsaw every 2 seconds. Even if i only use the grey and yellow cooldown addons, i'm still relying on those addons. Also it's not handicapping yourself it actually helps you to play better. If i was to start running addons on everyone it would literally be a walk in the park for most killers.

Learning to deal with the handicap so you can preform better when you don't have that handicap anymore
Simular how some martial artist use weighted gloves and boots to make their punches and kicks faster without the extra weights
But that doesn't have anything to do with hag bring addon reliant. You can perfectly play hag without addons and do well.
Couple that with the higher rarity addons not being that much stronger then the lower ones and i would honestly argue that Hag is one of the least addon relient killers

Being addon reliant doesn't mean that you can't win with that killer without addons, cause you can win with every killer every build and everycombination. But when a decent player is significantly hindered or struggles more without a specific addon, then they are addon reliant. It's different to when someone has been using good addons and then takes them of and starts loosing, because eventually they will get better and be able to play successfully without addons.

Nurse can technically blink over walls if she can she over/through it. Blight needs to hit walls for his power to work.

legion and hillbilly doont even share the same damage for using their power
blight and nurse both do one state of damage per hit, have a mobility power that is interspaced with windows to cancel their power or continue again or change direction before contining their power, both have increasing fatigue states based on how long they use their power.
they are really similar the main differences are nurse can go through objects and blight has 5 blink/charges and base kit movement speed
thier powers are very close and blight speed increases can make him feel more like nurse and nurse's torn bookmark makes her much more like blight.
comparatively legion and hillbilly are mobility killers and thats about it for power similarities

while i agree trapper needs bags and wraith needs ghost, windstorm or a clapper the rest dont need any addons to play well sure addons make nearly every killer better but they are fine without

This is incorrect, there are some there that might be arguable, but most are not.
Arguable ones:
- Doctor
- Pig
- Spirit
- Oni
Even among those though, the difference between using their best addons and not is night and day.
For all of the other ones their power is significantly weaker and easily countered.
- Billy can be looped like every other killer in the game without turning addons or like 1k hours on billy.
- Hag can just run the opposite end of the map and then purposefully break her traps without distance addons
- Huntress can't effectively use hatchets at a pallet that hasn't been dropped yet because her power just becomes a much worse PH with more punishment for not guessing correctly.
- Bubba gets countered too heavily by windows without speed. With speed he can catch up before you make a second loop around the window (bamboozle also helps with this but we are talking about addons)
- Clown without reload speed or extra bottles means survivors can stop running, go make a sandwich and come back and he still won't be done reloading.
- Legion without duration, just hold w when you see them coming. Seriously they move at 130% speed in their power which lasts 10 seconds. Their terror radius is 32 meters. Let's say there is some reaction time and figuring out where to run. At 130% speed at 10 seconds legion can cover 52 meters a survivor can cover 40 meters. Which means you can start running and holding w when they are just 17 meters away and they won't catch you.
- Plague without apple means she gets to use her power once the whole game.
- Ghostface without recharge is just an m1 killer for a full 30 seconds once revealed. That is long as hell.
- Demo without shred movement speed is terrible. Without that addon while charging demo runs at 92% movement speed, slower than a survivor. With the addon it becomes 101%. Which means they can hold it and still maintain the same distance.
- Deathslinger without reload speed means a miss is so much more punishing, especially on a 110% killer.
- PH without range means his power will never get used outside of animation lock
- Blight without Compound 21 is so low to the ground, good luck seeing a damn thing.

experience helps with counter looping as billy as you said
running into a dead zone is a bad idea as every killer
if you are running straight over to a pallet you can ready a hatchet and the drop animation locks the survivor in place and you can hit them over the pallet where you know when animation with make them go
pick your chases as bubba dont pick the ones where they will reach the window
you dont need more than more than 4 bottles to end a chase if you used all 4 you probably got enough pallets and should chase someone else
legion is just bad overall
survivors always cleanse
30 seconds after the down, carrying to the hook, hooking and walking away so they dont revel you on the hook is like 5 seconds left on cooldown its not that bad

animation locks are common and thats not all he has to work with
idk i havent seen people play him on grassy maps without c21

I honestly can't wait till they weaken compound 21 because it will completely expose how bad Blight is without that add-on and how much counter-play his actual power has. If I could trade C21 or better yet, his entire add-on list for a better flick/slightly better lunge turning in his power, Blight would have so much more skill expression and the difference between a bad blight and good blight would mean so much more.
