A Survivor IDEA (Not Suggestion)

So this just came up in my mind, and i'm not suggesting it, i don't know how much i can stress that.

All i want is feedback on this.

So what if Survivors in the Injured Health State EVENTUALLY go down into the Dying Health State?

And i'm talking at least more than 4 minutes before that happens. (To not make being Injured a more dangerous threat than Dying.)

It would be similar to struggling on a Killer's shoulder: There's a very high chance that you'll get hooked.

But struggling prevents being taken hostage & being put at the Hook the Killer decides is the best hook for you, and there's those few times that it does actually work.

Oh, and this could also stop those hide 'n' seek games that go on forever if they're Injured and have no way to heal.

Of course, that'd be a rare occurrence, but so is struggling out.

Why such an idea?

To incentivize getting yourself patched up eventually, nothing else really.

Why would i want this?

Refer to the top, it's just an idea, ideas can be scrapped.

I'm fine with this not becoming a thing.

    I mean, it could work.

It would prevent those really long hide and seek games, like you mentioned.

It would also give a decent incentive to heal and it could force Survivors out of the Exit Gates earlier.

I like the idea, but it does seem more like a QoL change than anything, so I doubt it would be implemented soon. That being said, I do hope that it is.

    Issues I see:

-You'd be required to cleanse against Plague, cutting out an entire counter-play against her.

-You'd be forced to heal against Legion, who will just re-injure you in 20 seconds anyway cutting out a lot of counterplay against him. (He/she needs buffs, though)

-Would be a huge nerf to resilience.

-Would probably push survivors into gen-rushing more. Get the gens done and out the door before you go into the dying state.

I would say this is good, but would need to stop the timer in the broken state. otherwise plague would be OP and no mither would be even worse

    Good job pointing out issues.

Already figured there would be. 😜

There def needs to be more incentive to heal yourself/let yourself get healed or even stay healed in the first place..

but this would all kinda make self-care a must-have - especially when you are the last one alive and injured there is not much you can do (but then again this scenario shouldn’t last too long..)

The "Legion incident" should teach that people detest going down without a way to avoid it, even if the time required is long.

i mean id love to be healed, sadly my team mates just crouch round the map and heal themselves with selfcare before hiding lol. sadly i spend 90% of the match injured, i dont have DH or anything that works while injured but if i dont do gens no one will and id hate to just keep going don because my team wont heal me or i cant find them etc. and like others said it removes strats against legion, plague etc. i cant see why a small debuff to repair speed while injured wouldnt work, encourage the heals a little more but not 100% needed. (just a small % like 2%etc.)

Perhaps make it so that when you are in Deep Wound or Broken state, your timer disappears? Then it will return when you are back in the normal Injured State?

Yeah, Broken should not allow this mechanic to work.

    It'd destroy No Mither.

Oh btw, i didn't specify a specific time at which you'd eventually go down.

But in the last minute or so, you'd get a visual effect to indicate you're about to die, and this visual effect would be explained in the Help section of the main menu.

Not a bothersome visual effect or anything, just something small but clear.

It is a good idea, but Deep Wounds already has no pressure, and neither would this. The sheer amount of times I've spent working on gens, healing others, or getting saves while in bleed-out is insane. I never feel pressured to mend til I want to. So how would a massively extended, hidden mend-style timer really help? Oh no, I have 4 minutes to find someone to heal me? The only times where that would be threatening are times when it is completely out of my control as to whether or not I get healed.

Personally, if you want to make being injured more dangerous, I'd just fix the IW bug.

Would clearly make No Mither even more overpowered.

Counter any powers that can down and Perks that require hitting and or downing a Survivor by just downing yourself instead then use your infinite Unbreakable to get back up to go right back into doing it again.
