Should I care about NOED being a 'crutch perk?'
I'm rank 13, been playing killer for about 2 days but I've watched streamers/youtubers play killer for a long time now, I only just got the game recently.
I'm already at the point where generators goes lightning fast, decisive strike is in about every other game, there's insta heals, borrowed time, and teabaggers using them. But from what I can tell most people think NOED is crutch. The only killer I've leveled up is hillbilly at lvl 27, so I don't have any other killers' teachables and don't have any DLC, which means no hex ruin. The only thing I have to slow the game down is sloppy butcher, so my question is, should I run NOED anyway since I've already ran into toxic survivors and their various second chances?

LOL no.
Do you think the survivors really care about crutch perks when they're bringing 3 decisive strikes into the game?
No, then you shouldn't care about NOED either.
I don't always take it because I try to get more work done during the game. NOED can get you at least 1 kill definitely, but often it causes the other survivors to bolt out of the exit gates. However it's good for making up time lost due to crutch perks like DS and Adrenaline.

just use it if you want to.
play as you like and do not let others dictate you how to play just because they find noed a "unfair" or "noob" perk.3 -
Shouldn't care what your victims say.
A lion doesn't concern itself with the opinions of sheep.4 -
Nope. Never listen to the survivors and their made up rules. Play however you like and use whatever perks, add ons and offerings you want. NOED is counterable anyway so if they complain then they didn't do a very good job at cleansing those totems..2

Survivors won't be happy with anything you run that may contribute to their deaths.5

Nah, dude. Use whatever you like.

First thing you should learn as killer is to give a damn about what survivors tell you.
wanna use noed? go ahead and equip it, hope you sacrifice a lot of the plebs with it and that they cry you a river afterwards1 -
No, you can use any perk you want.0

You do you.
Survivors want to dictate how things go. Make rules. Make it easier on them. Want to take away your fangs and claws.
Make rules, and regulations.
To quote Mojo Nixon:
"Listen up, Mr. Rules and Regulations
I ain't gonna obey!"0 -
Do survivors care about crutches when they are constantly using hatch?
Just remember, as a killer it's always 4v1. It's easy to make yourself sound more credible when it's 4 people speaking against one person. You can play the game per "their rules" and you'll always hear someone cry about something.

Not in the slightest, it's only useful if the endgame happens, which isn't always the case... Hatch game happen more often than people realise, not to mention Cleansing Totems is not hard, esp if Survivors suspect a NOED (often a strong guess based on which Killer you are: Hag, Spirit, Freddy etc)
The only perk in this games I even consider a true crutch is DS, which can reward bad plays, is only countered if someone is dribbled or downed right next to a Hook...otherwise you HAVE to deal with it, esp,if multiple people run it...0 -
Use it if you want. Don't if you dont.
Either way, if you do well, let em cry and use their end game chat salt on your popcorn and enjoy the show!
Play how you want. NOED isn't cheating.0 -
There was indeed a time when NOED was considered cheap and killers were encouraged to try and win the game before the gates are powered. However, since then Decisive Strike, Dead Hard, Balanced Landing, Lithe, We're gonna Live Forever and Borrowed Time have come into play and players had time to unlock Self Care on whatever character they favor.
If anyone complains about it, just ignore those self-entitled memebaggers.0 -
It's a perk. Use it however you want if you feel like you need it.
