A great start to perk changes, hopefully we can keep it up

The meta of this game has been stuck in a rut for a little while, perk changes to spice up the meta and get people trying new builds and gameplay styles is just what it needs.

Hopefully if they continue the trend of some perk reworks/buffs/nerfs this game can finally have more build diversity and people branching out to try new perks and builds.

Some of the perks I hope get a little touch up sometime soon if they continue (wishful thinking)

Surge, Monstrous shrine, Bloodhound, Predator, Hex the third seal

Up the ante, Boil over, This is not happening, Premonition, Buckle up

Trail of torment might be good now but honestly every other perk they buffed are still gonna be terrible and will never shift the meta. Cruel limits now 32 instead of 24m? Damn...such an insane change, literally better than ruin and undying. Technician now stops all gen noises when they blow up? Actually this one's decent for new players, despite it being a DLC perk on pc, meaning new players likely won't have it right away and when they buy extra content they'll no longer need it...but ok.

I already run Forced Penance so a 20 second increase is a big deal. Blood pact is now 3 times as good (and is also a perk I already use). WGLF was already ran for the BP alone, making the mechanical change important even if it sucks. And the thana change could easily make the perk good on more Killers so long as the numbers are high enough. If it's at least 6% then the perk was buffed and at least 8% means the perk no longer requires synergy effects to be good.

Blood Pact buff worries me a little. I love the perk and will be using it a lot more now, but it may end up being an issue in some cases! I do love how the devs are willing to experiment with perks like this though, it is nice

Yep, i'm glad we're finally seeing some more perk changes. That said however, i'm really disappointed about the buffs to Cruel Limits and Mindbreaker. I wont say anything until the changes go live and I can actually see how they perform, but I don't see these buffs doing anything at all.

Still would be 2 people doing most likely nothing together, even if its a longer chase less would get done

They just want to first see if buffing the numbers would be enough to make them viable without completely reworking the perks, good start to test the waters

I completely agree. This is a very healthy thing to do for the game, everyone wants to see some variety in builds. I will say though, maybe we need also a bit more nerfs to bring some of the perks in line with the others, for both killer and survivor.

Honestly build variety Is highest from rank 20-9 then purple ranks trends towards 3-4 meta perks and red ranks usually is 2-0 with more unique builds. Im just hoping that more variety will allow all ranks to have plenty of varied builds and keep the game more interesting

I dont see why the announced changes should change anything in perk viability.

Good point, so it'll probably be fine under most circumstances. The only thing I'm really worried about is against 110% killers. If the blood pact couple stick together, it would be very difficult to get them.

Then just leave them be, taking their teammates out of the game should still be adequate slowdown against them and either enough so that they split and break the speed gain or they come together and suddenly 3 survivors aren't doing anything

We should make predictions on the upcoming Ruin/Undying changes.

    I’m going to guess...

Ruin is now token based. At base it regresses gens at default speed and gains up to 5 tokens, each token increasing the regression speed a litle.

Undying has its aura reading nerfed.

Changes will either come at earliest December update or latest February update.

But look at it this way, its changes, its a start, for game balance they won't directly do anything big to start but I bet they would love to make little changes like this more often to give lesser used perks more love

Mindbreaker has potential if it's like 15s+ since it still has that Gen must be below 50% condition attached to it. People who have played Huntress will know that even a short bout of exhaustion can be devastating in ending chases quickly (Blight/Hillybilly and Freddy would benefit from a longer duration and might run it).

I agree that Cruel Limits still being tied to gen pops still limits it's uses without a drastic power increase - a slight range increase will still make the perk underused and worthless
