Sometimes its a struggle to find totems....
Especially Dead Dawg and Midwitch. I use Small Game most of the time and sometimes I just can't find where its indicating. Sometimes I waste so mich time I just give up on totems in general on those maps cause I need to help on gens.
anybody else have trouble seeing where the totems are on those maps?

They can be well hidden on a few maps (such as in locker spaces, close in against trees/bushes and behind debris (crotus pen and yamaoka estate both have a regular spawn point like that).
Small game is good but you could also use detecive's hunch or a map to locate them; you get a visual marker this way so it's easier than using small game.

Me, playing survivor against a killer with Devour Hope on Hawkins: Totem hidden in such a way you couldn't see it without Detective's Hunch. (I recommend DH over Small Game.)
Me, playing Killer against survivors with Devour Hope on Hawkins: Totem in plain sight where anyone can see it and gets cleansed as soon as they learn its devour.

I have basically no idea where totems tend to be on Dead Dawg. That's mostly because I don't see that map much as survivor and just never figured out where they generally like to spawn.
Midwich hides the totems well, but it is another map where you get used to checking certain areas for them (usually in or behind school lockers/desks) and don't have too much trouble finding them. The hard part is getting around the map to check all the likely spots without accidentally running into the
KillerHall Monitor without my hall pass.Definitely use more of Detective's Hunch and/or Maps if you want to find totems more easily and get better at remembering where they tend to hide.

It's just about learning their spawns again. They are pretty hard to find initially for sure but once you learn the new spawns well-enough, it's just a quick check, same as the other maps.
It does take a bit longer to learn them though since they're not just thrown in loops.

I know 4 spawn locations for Dead Dawg, 1 under the water tower, if not there then the structure right next to water tower will have a totem in the perimeter. Another spot is right under a stack of logs behind the saloon and then behind the wagon there should be a bunch of bushes and a rock(s), the totem will be hidden by a bush hugging the rock. Midwitch idk.

Im very happy they are trying to hide the totems better. The good old days(sometimes even now) your totem is in the open and waisted....imo I actually enjoy dead dawg saloon and yamoaka's if I'm running totems rather than Mcmillans or Crotus Penn...I wasn't just gonna write about the two obvious perks to use to find totems, others already gave the idea's but to mention great appreciating the effort in making the second objective useful for the killer and exciting as survivor worrying about that pesky devour soap

In would say ditch Small Game for Detectives Hunch if you want to find totems. I'm not even joking, sometimes just repairing a single gen is all thats needed to either see every totem, or at least tell where a totem isn't. The fact that you can see the aura means that it doesn't matter how well camouflaged the totem was either.

Small Game in the Game map and in Midwich ends up being very confusing, because it sounds but you don't know if the totem is upstairs or downstairs.

I know Detective Hunch is better but everytime I switch over I have Hag or Trapper and then sometimes I try to recall...say I see 3 totems and I get the nearest then cant quite pinpoint the other 2 cause my memory is terrible then I have to wait for a generator repair before I can be shown again.
But on Dead Dawg and Midwitch I can literally be looking at a totem and just not see them cause they are camoflauged just enough for my eyes not to focus in. One time SG went off in Midwitch and I was like..oh, I know this area! And went to where I thought it was and it wasnt, but as I turned to look elsewhere..I saw it was, in fact, right where I assumed. Its embarrasing.I embarass myself. 😃

Im a Tapp main, so I don't have this problem.

You´ll get there. After a while you have the possible spawns memorised so well that it won´t be much of an issue anymore, especially with a totem detection perk like you already are using.

You can always bring a green map to help you out since it will record everything Detective’s Hunch reveals, it's what I do most of the time.

I keep forgetting the green maps will mark from Detectives Hunch for some reason I always think it does only gens...

The description of the green map would lead you to believe that is the case, fortunately for us it is not :)
