I love how official communication in this game is broken
Devs, you have made many changes in this game without telling us anywhere, without letting the community discuss about the changes before you made them live.
For exemple, you have changed the generators' sound when they are being repaired, it's a killer buff, there was no info about it anywhere.
Also, you have changed the falshlights. It's almost impossible now to do flashlight saves. The timing has changed, the way to aim with it has changed and now the ray is not tightening sometimes even though you are on the killer's head. Again, no info about it, just silence.
Just played a game against a Freddy, you have changed the fake pallets color for him, again no information about it.
You do some small killer buffs here and there without communicating about it. The info is nowhere, there is clearly a lack of transparency as you know some ppl will disagree about some design choices you make.
I have stopped to play this game for 1 year, i can't imagine how many changes you have made without announcing them officialy.
It's crazy as it's the first time, as a gamer, that i see a company hidding things to the community.

Remember back before they went independent (when everyone said they'd be less predatory because they weren't under anyone's thumb, then held lore/challenges until they could monetize it and added a store) and they had weekly dev streams?
That was fun. Almo dropping by to derail/ignore threads isn't comparable.

I can assure you that the flashlight timing has not changed (still just as they hoist the survivor from waist height over the shoulder) just the aim point from your perspective as a survivor (The second time they have adjusted it - first from it being up and to the right of the center to being above the center now to being dead center.) The aim point on the killer model itself is still just below the jaw around the neck on most killers and it helps if you're slightly further away (think like 8~12m ingame). It'll take some getting used to but if you're having trouble start flashing earlier in the lift and jiggle your flash light around until you figure out where it narrows.
This was mentioned in the (Edited for Link: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/228-4-2-0-descend-beyond) 4.2.0 Chapter Descend Beyond Release if you look at that page that just the aim was adjusted to be the dead center of your screen when playing survivor (Admittedly it creates awkward times if you center your camera and stand exactly face to face with the killer where you are aiming through your own body if you aren't off even a little to the side of the killer).
Fake Pallets being greyer was brought up by another user (or was it you?) and I think they said it wasn't intentional and one of the mods was trying to reproduce it on Ultra settings with X resolution or another.

Wait, Freddy's fake pallettes are different in color? How? Is it just for Freddy himself or for survivors, too?
Sorry for asking that question first, I just haven't noticed it. Anyway, I agree that ALL the changes that come with new updates should be definitely addressed. People complain a lot and about everything, so there's no need to be afraid of "feedback."

Yes, one plate was grey instead of red. One survivor could loose time breaking them, thus the killer was winning some time. And it was a survivor counter mechanic. Now, you have known, survivors are f*cked.
About the flashlight they have said : "Update aiming when using the flashlight. Up to 4.1.0, the flashlight would aim up and to the right of the center of the screen. In 4.1.0, the aiming animation was updated, which caused the flashlight to aim more towards right of center. Now, the aim should be squarely in the center."
It means that when you aim your flashlight, it should be centered on your screen, which is clearly not the case atm. Many survivors have complained about it on the forum, never get any answer from the devs and/or community managers...
They have a terrible way of communicating with the community.

You might not want to bypass the profanity filter. Trust me, you dont want to do that.
Regarding your complaints:
I have seen that Freddys Pallets dont have the correct Color (in some Forum Thread). You know that this is actually bad for the Killer and a Bug? Survivors should not identify fake Pallets that easy. If they fixed it, it is good. And honestly, not every Bugfix needs to be mentioned in the Patchnotes.
Regarding the sounds - those were added in 4.2.1 and removed in 4.2.2, because most people simply hated them. This had nothing to do with Balance, but BHVR trying something, it did not sound good so they removed it again.

I feel like they just have really terrible policies on communication.
Like they're happy for devs and community managers to jump into threads about current issues, but at the same time they obviously aren't allowed to give any information on whether those issues are being altered or how they're being changed, so they just end up commenting replies to completely irrelevant comments in the thread.
Similarly every single Q&A repeats the same answers every time: "That's not on our radar." "There's changes coming but we can't talk about it." or someone asks a question about something already announced, and they just repeat information that's already been given out.
How would it be bad, and who would it hurt, to come to a Q&A ready with some information? Not everything needs to be exclusively released only when it's patch notes. How about "Oh we were recently trying out this specific change for this perk, but it didn't play out well, or it looks promising but needs something else."
So many other game devs do it so much better than BHVR.
Warframe's devstreams are ALWAYS significant. The devs come with WIP stuff to share and show how content is coming along. When people ask questions, even live they often ask each other "hey can we give any info on that" and then they go "yeah sure, that won't hurt." And it's not like BHVR don't pay attention to other companies communication practices. They keep taking elements of Warframe's devstreams like the auric cells and cosmetic raffle, and they were recently trying to poach some of the most watched Warframe partners to come play DBD. It's just this obsession with keeping the community 100% in the dark until something is already in the game or 1 week away is ######### and demoralising for the players.

Every single thing you have listed there was a forum post, and mentioned on the live streams. Is this a bait thread?

Didn't see anything bout the new gen sound, here or on twitter.
For flashlight changes, same. They have mentionned a bug and a fix but it's not fixed.
Freddy's Pallets ? Haven't seen anything and well, developpers say it's a bug while it was not. There was a texture applied on the grey metal plate, it's not like a texture missing or anything like that. Now, fake pallets and normal pallets are exactly the same so it's again a question of lotery for the survivor ? Where is the skill gap and stuff ?
They add too many lotery mechanics, it's dumb for a "competitive videogame" as they call it.
Same, what are they doing about server hit validation ? They said they fixed the problems with the last patch, why is it not activated ?
I don't understand the way they manage their game and communication but it looks like it's a big mess.

I know for a fact they announced the flashlight changes.
And how is the generator sound a killer buff? I can't hear the gens at all half the time.

It was a buff as with a good headset, you could hear if someone was repairing the gen or not from a great distance.

What's the point of open communication when the community acts the way it does?

i love how ONLY official communication is broken. nothing else.

I'd forgotten we'd hoped that the predation would change. Little did we know of BHVR's intents...
Oh, and to the OP, I rarely get the opportunity to get flashlight saves, so it was my first time trying to blind a killer with the new flashlights, and it sucked. It's so not intuitive.
