Thoughts on this slight buff to Huntress since the maps keep getting worse for her?

This is from the POV of someone who has mained Huntress since she was released.

Let's face his, bunny mama is only strong on MacMillians, most Azarovs, and some Corn maps, the rest range from okay-ish to downright awful. Haddonfield, Ormond, indoors, hell even her own maps on Red Forest are terrible for her. A small tweak to make her a little better is this;

For every Hatchet huntress uses, she gains +1% movement speed.

Now you may say she can stack +hatchet addons, PWYF, etc. and become a speed demon. But this is off-set by her lack of power and low speed to begin with. You can count hatchets to know how many she has and how fast she is, the speed will make up for her awful map pressure and lack of control on maps with bad sightlines or gigantic maps in general. If need be, the +speed can be capped at +5.

it'll never happen, but one can dream.

Thoughts/ideas? Just spitballing for huntress to not have to pray for a decent map

I like this idea. Especially since the new graphic updated maps suddenly have more trees than before. At least that's what it looks like to me.

I just want an option to regain hatchets from bodies.

This is not a new suggestion but it would sure be a welcome one, I think it was Scott that made this suggestion.

It's really quite comical how the devs have just forgot that Huntress exists while they make all these new maps/map redesigns

Yesss I’ve always wanted an option to pick up hatchets from survivors you’ve downed

Sounds like a reasonable change to me.

    10/10 idea id have that.

If we are still buffing huntress a bit then Id address some of her slowdowns as well. She throws a hatchet and it takes a bit too long imo to get her M1 back.

Idk, it's probably my lack of experience playing her, but I dislike how she's slow for so long doing stuff.

It would open up a new playstyle where you drop all your hatchets at the start of the game and use Play with your food and other shenanigans. Might be interesting.

Inb4 the small but dedicated #KillHuntress gang shows up.

    Great idea tho.

Hi @Sluzzy lol, what do you think of this, since she's "uncounterable" apparently?

Allowing her to move faster while still having access to a ranged attack that can very easily hit survivors stuck in animations would be too strong in my opinion.

    --

My alternate proposal for this idea would be that Huntress could be limited to 110% any time that she has Hatchets available. When her ammo count reaches 0, she would speed up to 115% speed for 30 seconds.

She can gain increased mobility, but at the cost of no longer having her powerful ranged attack. The speed burst could be used to try and quickly finish a chase or rush over to a locker for a reload. The limited duration of this boost would ideally encourage Huntress to continue reloading and using her power, rather than abandoning it just to be a faster M1 killer.

The Hatchet Belt add-ons give her more ammo, but reduce how often she might access this speed burst, giving a natural tradeoff to using them (and also making the Deerskin Gloves a more valuable alternative).

*This idea is presuming that Iridescent Head will be reworked; ideally in a way that removes its need for an ammo restriction.

My hope is that once they overhaul her addons, there will be an addon that recovers all hatches after downing a survivor with a hatchet. There will also be another addon that breaks pallets/breakable walls with her hatchet but reduces the amount of hatchets she carries.

The wall hacks you get from Ruin/Undying helps a lot with being able to track down survivors in these recent maps. My new favorite build for her is Undying/Ruin/BBQ/Shadowborn. Having to run this build to counter certain maps kind of sucks though.

I honestly like this idea a lot. The extra movement speed can help down survivors quicker when you're out of hatchets so you can continue your pressure elsewhere.

Nerf Iri Heads and Wind up add ons but buff something else that helps her pressure the map.

She has the same issue as Deathslinger.

problem is at nearly every loop in the game she is forced to hold W and can only use her power at range on a handful of maps, unless the survivors are potatos.

even on azarovs, throwing over a car loop is basically a coin toss if the hitboxes work in your favor

In my experience, good Huntress' still do well on bad maps. A buff is not needed. Besides, 110% MS is her only real downside. Limited hatchets don't matter if you don't miss.

    "dont miss 4head"

On the many, many maps that are awful for her they all have 1 common theme; you cant use hatchets. Unless survivors literally hold w and never look behind them, they can keep entering rooms or using debris to block your shot. Take Hawkins, it has plenty of rooms to bank into AND tons of barrels to use to avoid a hatchet, forcing her to hold W.

unless you fully understand how she plays, saying shes fine doesn't work
