Legacy Skins Back??
Beginning, I Was Thinking Why not do something new to replace the legacy? How to Choose if you want blood prestige or legacy prestige, because I lost my legacy in 2019 by Loss of savefile and ... Why never put that in the game again? They have already released the EXCLUSIVE COSMETIC of the event to the whole audience. I think it should be more rare than the legacy but is just my opinion. Talking more about what I mean, a lot of people are hacking the game and changing the savefile JUST TO HAVE LEGACY wouldn't it be better to do something creative to put these skins back on? The The legendary cosmetics from international events like comiccon etc that were sold by absurd prisoners and only the people who went to those events and got the TINHAM codes and was released For all players now, the legacy is a skin that was the old prestige and many lost it due to the loss of savefile including me! It would not be better to do something to have these skin What did everyone like, back behavior? That would be fantastic in fact I would even cry if it happens.
Well that was my indignation + opinion about the legacy, I want to see your answers or if you also lost the legacy.

Look, man, I really really want legacy. I've tried begging my friend for her account (she doesn't play anymore) because she had every killer legacy 3, I've had friends who'd hack it in and "if you don't report it I might do it for you too" (they didn't).
But it's not coming back.
I don't want legacy to come back. Ever. There's no point in legacy being special if you give it out to people, and that's why the majority of people want it; it's rare and it's special. Give it out to everyone it's no longer rare, or special, and people wouldn't use it because they glow.

Except the people who own legacy and like it because its exclusive. That's the reason I couldn't get my friends account (that and I was "too bad" at the time of asking); she doesn't want anyone who didn't have to deal with the grind to get it and honestly I kinda agree now. The grind in this game is awful, I can only imagine how ######### it must've been 4 years ago.
I've asked her about this topic before, her response was that she didn't want legacy to return. Ever. It's the one thing she has to show she's an original, who supported the game form the start, if she ever does return. She doesn't want that to be lost, and I do see her reasoning and also agree with it.

I do understand wanting legacy come back and be given to those who have lost it, but as stated here https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/164287/news-unlocking-event-cosmetics#latest there are no plans for it to be brought back.

As someone who had it, and lost it (on everyone but Nea), I actually agree. Given what it took to get it back then, it would be a slap in the face. The grind is STILL too much, but it's 1000x better than it was back then.

It’d be cool if there was 1 piece of legacy per premium rift for characters that didnt originally have it (ace,kate, feng, etc.) and then keep dwight jake nea claud and meg’s legacy exclusive

Forget about it, everybody (especially bhvr) won't ever admit giving out exclusives was a mistake in the first place, so they would rather remain hypocrites.

What about exclusives&event skins? They also required certain efforts to gain and they too had special meaning for people, but somehow that didn't bother anyone.

People have hacked in legacy, the Devs act like they couldn't give it back to the people that lost it but they easily could, they devs are just lazy

In April 2017 Mathieu (Game Director) was asked "When will you guys refund legacy prestige for those that lost it in the lost data crisis?". Mathieu replied: "Not exactly sure of the timing, but we'll be using mostly the timestamps of the achievements; so when you got your achievements specifically" ... "we'll rejigger the prestige, reinitiate that on your account".
In July 2017, Mathieu was asked "When will those that lost their legacy item back in December get it back?".
Mathieu replied: "We don't have a system in place right now to fix that" ... "we still understand that it is very important and the people who had it" ... "it's the ultimate bragging rights, but we don't have a system in place to do it right now. So, you'll have to be patient" *Sips beverage*.
In August 2017 not_Queen (The community manager) stated that "Once the backend save file system comes in, legacy prestige will be able to be refunded". Mathieu replied with "Exactly".
In November 2017, the developers "Migrated save game data from Steam Cloud / local drive to the Dead by Daylight services for all players". This is according to the noted patches in the unofficial DBD wiki (albeit a very reliable and a trustworthy source).
So, it's a wonder why even the players who lost legacy skins AFTER the save game data was migrated to the Dead By Daylight services are not refunded their legacy skins. This is especially concerning since you mentioned you lost your legacy skins in 2019. Does this mean if someone lost their legacy today, it STILL wouldn't be refunded?!
So although the developers can now take the easy option and point out that they are no longer attempting to refund legacy skins, their past statements gave players the assurance that they would have their legacy skins refunded. So we have in a sense been given a false sense of assurance for years, only for the developers to now make a statement (albeit a few months ago), completely going back on many of their past statements. Shame.

I think they should make it so you only get legacy if you have every character prestige 3 killers and survivors. Then it unlocks.

What they need to do is make a new skin similar but different color glow and give it to everyone who played before cross platform was a thing , I still have my legacy and I like it the way it is now, though I'm sorry to hear you lost yours due to a glitch

It never was a mistake, it only was a mistake to release some exclusives for everyone but some not besided their reasoning.
Otherwise there is nothing wrong with exclusives.

They CANT give it back because they cant 100% detect who EARNED it back then. If they could track them, they could and would give it back.

It WAS a mistake to release exclusives and event skins and then NOT to release legacy. Especially with the reasons they used:
- we distributed excl/event because some people lost them and we couldn't find a way to give them back in any other way. Somehow this doesn't apply to the legacy.
- we know you are upset, but this is for the better as we don't want exclusive things in out game. Somehow this doesn't apply to the legacy.
- you should be happy that you got to use these skins earlier than others. SOMEHOW THIS DOESN'T APPLY TO LEGACY USERS.
- we know these skins had a lot of value to you, but you can still enjoy that value even if everybody else has access to them.
SOME-#########-HOW THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO LEGACY USERS, they are just special, this is different, we just don't understand
This all is a big ######### hypocrisy and I'm literally sick of it. They are devaluing efforts and feelings of one (much bigger) side of the community and then make a minority into special kids who don't care about rules. I'm not even talking that most legacy we see today is either bought (account sold) or just hacked (devs have NO way to prove for sure some people hacked that legacy back then, otherwise some people I know would've been banned) and actual legacy users either quit long ago and don't care or JUST don't care and wouldn't mind shiny skins being given to everyone.
Devs must either back off and take away events/exclusives from people who didn't earn them, or APPLY SAME RULES TO EVERYONE AND DON'T MAKE SOME CERTAIN PEOPLE SPECIAL.

this why exclusives are dumb for video game we get this with the rift I mean were on tome V and we havn't seen anything from tome I in the store I know they said 6 month after the rift close but it been more then 6 months.
On legacy I never got them and I don't want them people who might have them don't use them with crossplay and I'm on ps4 and steam I seen them 4 times.

If I could find the youtube video I'd show you, but players have literally lost all their progress (including legacy) on a live stream (with hours of footage of them using their legacy skins AND losing their progress in one stream) and haven't been refunded. I for one have video proof of losing all my progress, of me wearing my legacy skins in youtube videos, on a twitch clip and many, many steam screenshots. My prestige achievements also back me up.
We can throw as much evidence at the devs as we can, but they don't seem to even look at it. I'm saying this because your comment suggests that the developers WOULD give players back legacy if they could, but evidently, this is simply not true. I have emailed support countless times and they always said they're looking into it and it will be addressed in the future!
Also the thing is, many people lost legacy AFTER they migrated the saves to their 'secure' servers. Why aren't we refunded?! The funny thing is, I had 50+ backups of my local save file. If I had lost my progress before the migration, I would have simply replaced the corrupt file with one of my backups. Because I lost my progress on their 'secure' servers, I could no longer do this as they were no longer stored locally. That fact really triggers me.

Bringing it back would lose its value it no longer be special, and there would be no point in running it. It would do nothing but just say a big f you to the veterans

to be fair nurse's blight skin will be entering the store this halloween, according to leaks. not 100% trustworthy so it's not a guarantee but yeah.

well I got it I got all of the rift stuff just saying that they said 3 month after nothing from the first rift has been seen in the store the nurse is a start but they maybe releasing it because the new blight event happening.

Show me some videos I want to see that also it sucks to here you couldnt replace your save file. I know many people who lost their legacy did that before dedicated servers.

Maybe. As a vet myself with 3+ years, and a boat load of hours played, I can understand how some may be bothered seeing someone with not much time in the game sporting something like legacy. It would just be cool to have a reward for a certain achievement. Something to tell some players apart from others. When I first started, and got rank 1 for the first time, I was pumped, and thought you got something for achieving that..... Nope. Nothing. Getting a killer or survivor to p3.. Nothing there either.

It shouldn't make a full return, but people who lost their Legacy should get it back if they have proof of once having it.

On their website they said a minimum of 6 months. However, in their first stream about the Rift, they said they were looking at more of 1 whole year of exclusive Rift content.
Either way, they didn't specify what content from the Rift would return. On their website they say 'most' items will return. But not all. Likely all of the lore outfits will, but we don't know much beyond that.

i wouldnt be opposed to another exclusive with a huge requirement to achieve but handing out legacy would be a really bad move same with the hound mask because they gave the hound mask to everyone nobody no longer uses it

So I found the video after some searching, of someone who literally streamed themselves losing all of their progress - which in the same stream had also equipped Legacy prestige 1 meg for many of his games.
I've had a look at some of his recent twitch VOD's and he still hasn't been refunded his legacy p1 meg. Let that sink in. This is how little the developers ever cared about resolving the issue. Haven't even refunded a guy who lost his legacy ON STREAM!

Dude, achievements. They can check the date of the achievements and verify using that. If the achievement was after they were removed they were hacked in

I don’t even want the old Legacy skins, but they could at least make new better looking Legacy skins. I mean it’s not like there isn’t a grind still. I don’t see how this affects old legacy skins.

Pardon my french but BHVR's excuse is lame as #########. They're shitting on the older playerbase when they know that they're the cause of the faulty save system that they themselves created.

With this way they could only know they prestiged atleast one charackter. Also if they have their archivments private they cant check it (if it works that way on PC)

After years of waiting, receiving legacy 3 for one character would be amazing. I'd be so happy to just get one set of legacy back if they based it on prestige achievement dates.
I know that many others who lost their legacy would also prefer this over nothing. Please BHVR! @Peanits @not_Queen
