I got high level and I'm really bad
I got the game like a week ago, mybe a little more. I got to rank 8, I've been only playing survivor, but I'm still pretty bad and get in games with way better players. The problems isn't just getting ouplayed, I'm also being harrased by player cuz they say how can you be level 8... you so trash...and other thing you may imagine..... is it a way to reset my rank that isn't waiting till the 13th... or disconecting from games??? I've tried using survivors i didn't use but it makes it worse since now i don't even have decent perks. If there is no way to reset it,what else would you recomend? (Besides getting good at the game...i'm trying to but youtube videos may seen not enought 😭....)

Just get some friends and run it down together.

Sadly, there's not much more you can do besides getting better and praying they release a working version of the mmr system soon.

Dont play soloq, get some friends else doubt you gonna have much fun.

How to loop guides on YT go a long ways in learning fundamentals. Just growing pains. You probably do have room to grow. It’s good you want to ‘git gud’. Good luck.
2 -
Just do what everyone else does. Get 3 more people all on comms and it's easy mode. Do gens when the killer is chasing someone else and run from loop to loop when you're being chased. Survivor is super simple.

...except not that many actually do this.

There is no way to reset your rank but the good news is that if you're not doing that great in the matches you're in then you will naturally depip to be in a rank that's more suitable for you.
The other thing I would say, is practise as much as you can - even in KYF, practice chases, loops, learning the maps etc.
Also, play both sides - you learn so much about the other side when playing in the opposite roll.

But they do. I can confidently say most of my games have at least 2 in swf together and if you're not on gens when not in chase then what are you doing? And while you're in a chase if you're not running to loops then what are you doing? I don't see what you're disagreeing with.

Thank you everyone for yours quick answers... sadlly i got no friends who like this game so guess i'll try to get into a community on facebook or something ... will keep practicing looping and stuff... i'll be checking the guides on this forum as well.... another thing i saw is that maybe i'm to afraid of being kill.. so after second hook i'll almost never go for rescues cuz afraid of fying... I only go when i clearly see the killer is somewhere else

You are rank 8 because you deserve to be rank 8 so don't let anybody tell you that you shouldn't be there. Are you doing a couple of gens, getting an unhook or two and at least giving the killer even a short distraction from the gens in a good percentage of games? Yes you are. That's why you ranked up.
Being good in a chase is a skill you get with experience. I'm sure in a few weeks you will be flashlight blinding me and teabagging me at the exit with the best of them.

https://discord.gg/deadbydaylight If you're looking for people to play with, then don't forget the DbD Discord - you'll find other players there who'll team up for SWF or KYF.

You should go play killer for awhile and get the hang of that. It will help you be a better survivor and you'll get an understanding of what killers go through. You got to rank 8 very fast, that's good. It means you're not trash you're just still new. Playing killer and getting to rank 13 or 12 now will help you get into reds as a survivor. You'll learn how the killer thinks, the things they do, you'll see the mistakes survivors make so you don't make the same ones. I HIGHLY recommend doing this. Playing only 1 side is how you end up advocating for very silly things.

That's the problem we have currently where it's too easy to rank up and rank reset isn't enough of a reset. It leads to people getting piled up at ranks they aren't supposed to be because it's almost impossible to derank consistentlly without just suiciding/dc'ing.

^ Discord is probably the most active in terms of finding people. Followed by large streamer communities.
Also don't be afraid to add people if you had a fun game with them :).
If you're on NA or EU I'm down for a few games.

Thanks... i do most of that stuff... sometimes i dont get gens done cuz killer comes but i'll say i'll go on my own like 1,5 to 2,5 gens per match.. (not always) and those that i'm not usually i got the killer on my back and get it for like 30 sec or so... then get hit and then down cuz i cannot loose them unlesmast i have balance landing... i should check for builds... i've only looking for what to do but not what to build ... i only have like 3 survivors perks unlock... now i go with(i cannot remember all the names) self care..balance landing .. urban evation and the one that get items used slower

Don't even care about others opinions at the end game chat. I was in your position like everyone else.
You will get better and better.
Practice looking behind you in chases, don't look straight forward. You need to know where the killer is.
Try to remember where the pallets are. When you do a generator, look around and find your escape route to the closest pallet or window when the killer is close.
I recommend to level up Meg Thomas first. She has one of the best exhaustion perks, the Sprint Burst.
Avoiding the first hit and going to a safe loop is a big deal.
Good luck and enjoy the game!

Duoing isn't grouping up with 3 other people; it's also widely agreed on that duos are equal to killer, not stronger, so if you're struggling against only duos regularly, IDK what to say about that.

Thank you!! Meg was the first i play until like level 40 ... noy i play with the one that has urban evation... i play with that perk, self care, balance landing and the one you do no use items as fastand i do look for scape routes... i just dont choose the best one.. or at least is what i think hahahathank you for your answer and time

Honestly you should never care for People that insult you for not playing well. Like the fact that that‘s a thing is mind boggling to me. Imagine thinking its bad to not be so good at a game. Those people don‘t seem to realize that there is an actual world outside of gaming. Gaming skill is like one of the least important skills to have in life.

If you got to rank 8 in a week you can't be that bad

I don't understand why you think I'm struggling with duos. I said get 3 friends and play. You said not many people do that. I took it as you saying people aren't playing with friends because you didn't make it clear what you were referencing. And I just said I usually play against groups with at least 2 people in a swf. You decided to focus on that for some reason. Lol Nowhere does it suggest anyone struggles with duos. The main point was to play with friends and the game becomes easier because of the information that can be shared on comms. That, stay on gens when not in chase, and string together loops when you're chased are the only things I said. It was meant to be a little bit sarcastic lol Obviously there's more to it then that. But that said, if you have any survivors on comms that's a significant advantage. It just becomes larger the more people you're playing with. Whether duos are on par or stronger than the killer doesn't really matter. That wasn't the point. Was just saying play with friends and you'll win more games. 🙂

So I only play solo and I would say, don't let chat after the match bother you...keep at it and your skills will improve. You can get a team to make it easier but I tend to believe playing solo allows you to become more competent on your own. Know when to help others and know when to just finish a gen, all that comes with time. I'm not the greatest and don't claim to be, I'm a r2 survivor but if I were to be honest I'm probably a true r5....chin up and push through the berating and you will succeed. It feels amazing to get a great game as a solo with other good players and even if you die, ya pip and feel good about the outcome because you earned every bp. Welcome to the fog!

Survivors and Killers both get this kind of trash talk, albeit for different reasons. A new Survivor can be carried by better players and advance. That is a simple truth. A new Killer has no safety net. So new Killers get crap talk from arrogant Survivors who insult them and tell them EZ or you should uninstall. A new Survivor carried by the other Players gets grief/shame from those annoyed that you didn't do more, particularly if some of them died for what they deem was your incompetence. Neither thing is fair.
You can take solace in the fact that you will get better over time. You will get games where people aren't jerks to you before or after. You will one day carry other Survivors as you were carried. That also is a simple truth. Hopefully, based on your experience, you won't give the newbies too much hell because you will know they are doing their best. Remember, those people who are giving you grief have also been carried by others at one point, 100%.

Depiping if playing serious is very hard unless you get facecamped/tunneled to death or do nothing, doing nothing is not cool for you are dragging your team with you.
Fixing 1 gen, unhooking then healing someone and staying alive for more than 9 minutes will almost give a black pip (3 silver emblems), add some totem cleansing, some more gen work and some more healing and youll black pip without much trouble. Its debatable if someone manages all that its not a bad player, but that depends if the Killer actually sees them, if the Killer is distracted by other, much better at looping Survivors bad players will get promoted, ending against much much tougher Killers.

You can, however, naturally de-rank over time by not playing.
Or "not play" by having an alternate account to play on! Even better if you're a console player and it's free!

Try playing some more might not be a great tip but that's how I got better and play some swf.
