How the HELL does Ghostface's Reveal work?! (Rant)
This is seriously ticking me off. At this point, it's not even Nurse, Spirit or any other overpowered stupid Killer that I hate the most, it's GHOSTFACE.
I now absolutely DESPISE him, after going against him more than 100 times, with the same thing happening EVERY time. I'm sure this has been complained about many times, but his "reveal mechanic" is BROKEN. Most of the times you're staring him deeply in the eyes and it just doesn't do ANYTHING.
...And you people want Spine Chill nerfed against Undetectable Killers? Please...

He needs to be in the middle of your screen for 2.5 seconds or something like that, and a certain percentage of his body needs to be visible.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my life. At this point they should just rework him and give him a power that's actually ENJOYABLE to go against (and to use). We already have Myers for stalking and exposing!

Why is it dumb? It prevents you from revealing him when he's just a tiny speck in the corner of your screen, which would be dumb.

Even then, it often bugs so you can't reveal him despite doing this and there are situations where you can't run away without letting him expose you so the play is to try and pull him out instead, but it's so buggy it doesn't work. He is hands down one of the most frustrating killers to go against solely because of bugs. He's far from OP; definitely a good killer, but the reveal mechanic needs fixing.

Just look at him harder bro. If you don't look at him hard enough he'll skillfully outplay you by exposing you in plain sight.

Standing 3 meter next of ghostface and staring at him for more then 5 seconds? Nothing happens.
Every game against that Dude the same problem. At this point it is actually more comedy then disapointment.
If they fix a killer, please let it be Ghostface! That guy is just annoying to verse simply because he does not work as he should.

Yeah. When Ghostface is described, I imagine him sneaking around the map, spying on people from behind an object, nobody knows where he is, so creepy, so mysterious. But, when I play against Ghostface, it's usually more like a super fast staring contest that happens right out in the open, while he's five feet away from me, and I lose because I don't know where the center of my screen is.

Ghost Face always seems to be on the cusp of being a fun killer to play and play against. But then his Shroud/Reveal mechanics randomly go around slapping everyone (sometimes including the killer player) in the face with how inconsistent they are. I want to like him, but I really don't.
I usually have Spine Chill included on all my survivors just in case I come across a Ghost Face (well, and Spirit/Freddy to a lesser extent).
Personally, I'm also kind of disappointed with how his power works in general. I don't find the Marking mechanic all that unique or fun; it just feels like I'm playing a mixture of discount Myers and discount Wraith (albeit arguably stronger than either of them due to having an insta-down and crouching with no Evil Within I or Uncloaking).

His reveal rarely works the way its supposed to. I've lost count of the number of times I've gone down because I couldn't break him out even when he's right there in full view in the middle of my screen.
Its why he's one of my least favorite killers to face. If they ever look at his kill rate stats, I'd bet most of them are because he couldn't be revealed when he should have.

Your body can block him which is a bug present since he was released. So if you are looking at him but your head is blocking his model it doesn't work

This. You can be workin on a gen, see him, swing the camera to center him, and either the gen or your character (or both maybe) can prevent the reveal.
The best place to be to reveal him consistently is actually on a hook sadly.

No, it doesn't.
Every Killer has somewhat of a perk counter, so Stealth Killers should have one, too. Spine Chill is fine as it is, in my opinion.
Spirit has Iron Will, Doctor and Clown have Calm Spirit, Trapper has Object of Obsession, and I can name more.

Hey orion if you didnt catch on the mechanic is bugged. You cant reveal him when staring directly at him even with your characters model looking at him. Other times you can get him behind a wall. OPs complaint stems from the fact it is inconsistent.

Object makes trapper completely obsolete if you're in SWF.
Spine Chill does the following:
- Allows you to know when a Myers is most likely stalking, allowing you to use the perk to help EASILY starve him.
- Lets you know when a Ghostface could be sneaking up, which makes it a matter of turning around and revealing him. Oh wait, the reveal is broken. Spine Chill is only balanced against Gf because the reveal mechanic is bs.
- Wraith...poor Wraith. He's already pretty bad, and Spine Chill is just the icing on the cake. Wraith shouldn't be able to be revealed by it when cloaked, if you ask me.
As for Gf, I think Gf should only be able to be detected by Spine Chill if you're far enough away from him. Within reveal range though.
The only change I'd make to Michael is he can't be detected in tier 1. This makes getting out of Tier 1 easier against Spine Chill, and Michael past tier one can't even be called a sheath killer.

As for this, as a Ghost Face main, it is extremely dumb at times. I can be sitting there chasing someone down for a solid half minute and I'm still in shroud. Other times though I get revealed behind a wall, its asinine at times. They really oughta smooth it out.

OP was replying to my comment succinctly explaining how it works and didn't mention bugs at all in that reply. I extrapolated that they meant the way it's supposed to work is dumb. If you didn't catch on, I am aware of the issues with the mechanic, I just said how it's supposed to work.

I do understand. I never said it wasn't bugged, I just explained how it's supposed to work. What I don't understand is why I have people getting upset over me explaining how it's supposed to work so that they can know whether something is a bug or not.
For example, until today, I didn't know about the distance requirement. I thought it was a bug that I had been unable to reveal Ghostface in certain situations, but it was just that he was too far away.

Yeah it's one of the many things about gf that is messed up. Sometimes a surv can reveal you from across the map and sometimes they can't reveal you if your right In front of them. His leaning also seems bugged right now. Haven't been able to lean off if anything for the past couple days. I suggest just trying to stay away and loop him for as long as you can. Hell either give up the stalk or hell keep it going, waste time and then you just try to loop him till your mark is up. I know it's inconvenient but it works either way your wasting his time and the gens are getting done

Tbh the exposed mechanic is just really wonky. From what I've been told it's a hit box behind him that the survivors need to look at- but it's also inconsistent. You can be looking straight at him, but not be breaking him out- but then there are other times where you might barely be looking at him and he breaks out of stalk. (Can't tell you how many times I haven't been able to break Ghostface out of stalk when I need to, or how many times I've been randomly broken out of stalk as a Ghostface by a Survivor who barely saw me.)

I play ghostface a lot and let me tell you, it's annoying hell being him as he is always broken out of NS far too easily imo. He's so inconsistent. I've litterally stared at gf's a few meters away and nothing happens, yet on a hook, i can look at him in the far distance and break him out. Another issue I hate is picking up survivors with NS on, the carried survivor just breaks him out whilst being carried. SWF's absolutely humiliate him.
Needs a rework, so frustrating.

It doesn’t. Sometimes you get revealed when behind a wall and sometimes you can be staring straight at him and it won’t work. You just have to pray it works when you want it to.

Just moonwalk to a gen if you suspect there is spine chill. People who use spine chill usually don't pay attention cause Spine chill will tell them when to run.

I honestly couldn't tell you for the life of me. Sometimes I reveal him from across the other side of the map some how, others I've stared in to his soul while he's sanding butt naked in the middle of afield and he stays hidden 😒
