Cannot wait to turn crossplay off
I made the switch to pc gaming after playing on Xbox for years. But now that crossplay is a thing it feels like everyone is just blocked off from everyone else. I can't chat with console players in lobby's, I can't add them, I can't report their personal profiles... And the lack of pc players on this game makes it incredibly baren and boring. It feels like I'm just chilling with a wall between me and my teamates. I'm just looking forward to turning it off after beta at this point.

Why ya gotta go 'round reporting peoples profiles my dude?
Just kidding. I think it's more that consoles have more survivors and PC has more killers. Red rank killer wait times were pretty spicy before crossplay.

Yep waaay more console players

Ok.

Good job

Have you tried playing killer on console my dude? Please borrow a friend's PS4 or whatever and give it a go. Please. 15-10 frames on Lery's? Let's goooooooo good times...

Nah I'm a PC nerd. (I do have consoles, but I missed this current gen D:)
I play this game on low graphics even though I can run it on ultra because the idea that my hardware limits my gameplay always chafes me in the wrong way. I truly feel for the console gamers out there and hope the next gen consoles give you guys proper salvation.

I still play on my Xbox but not as much, I have more killers and survivors purchased on pc. But yes the frames are garbage especially on the updated maps, but the next gen consoles should help a bit.

I agree, we're all gamers and we should all play on an even playing field and not held back by hardware. Especially now a days when people play games very competitively.

I play on an Xbox1x, the strongest Xbox out there atm, and it rarely can play DBD at 30 frames, less than 20 indoors, although it is capable of much much more. About two years ago the devs set a goal of consistent 60 frames on console that never happened.
Also because I have a 1x model when Blight came out the game inta-overheated it each time the game initialized, and was unplayable for a week until the following patch. But the other Xbox models were not affected.
None of this makes me warm and fuzzy about next gens handling it any better...

Exactly my dude! :)

Yeah that's gross idk why console always have to be so far behind, another reason I built my pc in the first place I got tired of waiting.

Tbh I get what you mean. Feels really meh to just go from match to match and not see any kind of message from anyone. They really need to add chat functions, messaging, player history etc that you can opt into. Would really help it become a more social environment. Actual player stat pages would be cool too. Fav killer, survivor, time played, the basic stuff.

^^this. I feel every multiplayer game needs some social aspect to it to make it interesting. And since dbd lacks voice chat it would be nice if everyone could at least text chat.

And without Cross Progression, which also seems unlikely to happen, I'd have to start from scratch all over again on a PC....

Yuuup that's what I had to do, it sucked. Luckily I didn't buy to much on console.

The grind is real

Regularly restarting the game, even restarting the console can help alleviate the issue

The only readon we have bad fps on console is because the game is badly optimise for the current gen we have the next gen will have the same problem
3 -
True. Current consoles, especially ps4 pro and xbox one x could easily run this game 60 fps if the devs knew how to optimize the game, but sadly they don't. Next gen consoles might get 10 fps improvement compared to current gen consoles and even that will be bad. BHVR should ask help from Guerrilla or Naughty Dog about how to make games run properly.

I feel you. I'm full time PC with Blights release. I desperately want my save to transfer from Xbox as I had 3+ years on it.
I started playing a new save on PC before Blight and after spending a couple weeks playing at Ultra/60fps I went back to play a few killer games to finish the rift on xbox and I just couldn't. It's awful. I've had to just outright abandon my Xbox save and now I have to hope BHVR gets their ######### together and figures out how to transfer Xbox saves like literally every other big multiplayer game right now.

why not turn it off now? you have that option in the main menu.

I don’t get what Beta you are talking about? You can opt out of cross play pretty much any time..
also, there is definitely no lack of pc survivors. At least in my region. For me it is the rarest thing to get in a lobby with 3 cross play survs.
also you can befriend players from other platforms, there is just no chat option..

Crossplay is not in Beta, you do not have to wait to turn it off - if you do not wish to play with cross platform players, then you have the option to disable that immediately.

I tend to restart my console every 3-4 matches to help with this, but the effect is minimal and mainly only keeps the "No Internet Connection" error at bay.
But no one should have to baby their rig like that almost twice an hour or so...

You can't switch it off yet the devs have it forced on to test it out...
0 -
YES you can. at the main screen, NOT when you are playing as a survivor or a killer, you can enter settings and turn crossplay on and off. it's a check mark you can add or remove. I can't remember the specific wording but it IS there and you have been told by many it is optional, not a beta and you still don't believe? if you can't follow the instructions I gave you here and others have said before then no one can help you and you will be stuck with this "BETA" for the rest of your dbd playing days.

You can turn it off in the options menu, you get there by pressing the cog symbol at the bottom of the main menu or in the bottom left hand side of the Killer/Survivor menus.
I tried this once and the queue times are extremely long without it, so I should warn you that you'll have to wait longer for games if you turn it off.

It literally won't let me

I just tested and I can turn it off lol.
On console, there's no point turning it off cause you won't find games anymore, since most people have it turned on.
As a survivor main on PS4, i just give up now when I come across a PC nurse. It's not even fun...

Strange. You might want to file a ticket in the bug department in this specific case.
The option should be there in Settings. It sounds like you may have some corruption in your game if it isn't.

You need to be in the main menu, not the killer/survivor screen.
0 -
It has to be done in the main menu settings not the Killer/Survivor settings.
I don't get why it can only be done that way either, but it can be turned off.
