Gotta lay low y'all. This is an interesting situation.

I think I might have played against you, I recognise darkwolf if thats similar to the name you have on xbox. I never message in anger. It's a shame a pretty large chunk of players think their opinion matters, they are worthless for they are meat on a hook.0
-
I get a few friend requests every so often from both sides that after bashing me in post game chat want to add me to do it more lol.

I've never gotten an angry message on DbD, but I don't think I have a wall to post on my Steam account. Someone did ######### about me on one of my game reviews instead. hue
I get a lot of angry whispers on Heroes of the Storm, though.

I had someone call me garbage after I downed him nodded at him for being toxic. Funny, he's the one who fell for every mindgame in the book and couldn't 360 lol.1

Isn't Xbox also still plagued by the issue of: If you get reported a lot, no matter if they're legit reports or not, you get suspended.

So now they still take those reports and they still affect your rep, but the rep doesn’t affect matchmaking now.
But yeah people are incredibly salty. Just a couple days ago someone on Xbox got mad that I patrolled his hook to close and he got farmed and he informed me that he’s a military veteran with two tours under his belt and has killed people and that he was going to find me and add me to his list LOL.
What streamer was salty with you? They all get super salty and accuse you of sniping their stream, it’s adorable.0 -

I remember back in the good ole' days of having a bad reputation because of DbD.
Having a bad rep meant you were a good killer.

I’ll take salt over dealing with hackers and cheaters any day of the damn week.On console, you get both, same as on PC.
How did so many people buy the "consoles don't have hackers and cheaters" propaganda?

Make your profile message settings private, that's what I did.

I don't think its so much believing that it doesn't happen, it just appears that it doesn't seem to happen as often, or at least doesn't get reported / recorded as often as it does on pc.
Honest question since I'm genuinely interested and tragically non tech minded, is it a lot easier to cheat via pc than on console? Is that why it seems abundant on pc and not so much on console?

Console definitely has cheaters but they are mainly lag switching, I had a killer down someone in front of me and I ran to use a insta heal but he was frozen in the pick up animation and then all of a sudden teleported to a hook and hooked the guy and same match they guy machine gun hit someone twice with the hag and wasn’t running unrelenting or anything to recover from swings
Was that the match you and @Vietfox were playing the other night before you joined me and Jenna?

How would they cheat on console? I am genuinely curious and don't really know how they'd go about it. Obviously on PC it's easy. I mean, don't give a description on how to do it on console..but, you know..."basically speaking".

Consoles are just PCs with downgraded hardware. If you can do it on PC, you can do it on console, especially now that Microsoft has decided to use basically the same OS on its consoles that it sells to PC users.
Piracy is still a thing, cheating is still a thing, and so on. Game companies and console manufacturers would like you to believe those don't happen on consoles because it's cheaper (and therefore more profitable) for publishers to publish games on consoles and it's more profitable for console manufacturers when you need to buy an entirely new rig every few years, as opposed to PC, where development costs go up due to different hardware and user costs go down because you can just upgrade the one part that's bottlenecking your system.Think about it: How, exactly, are consoles so different from PCs?

The Xbox one’s hardware is next to impossible to hack because of built in anti-cheat software and The Xbox Live service itself checking for hardware signals. I have yet to see a single hacker and I put at least 40 hours a week into gaming. You mean like how PC games have built-in anti-cheat software? Also, you do understand that hacking is not a hardware thing, right? Lastly, all software has vulnerabilities, because programmers make mistakes. Whoever says that their software/hardware/whatever is uncrackable will probably also try to sell you a spear that can pierce any shield and a shield that can withstand any spear.

I understand that, but to allow hacking on an Xbox, you have to directly tamper with the console. You can’t just download modded saves anymore like you could on 360. It is very difficult to hack using Xbox one. I would have seen a hacker by now my account is 13 years old and the first and only time I saw a hacker was in 2013 just before the Xbox One came out.You overestimate the number of hackers and the amount of work people are willing to put in to hacking consoles when PC has more known vulnerabilities.
I still remember when people were sucking Apple's dick because "you can't get a virus on Mac". The fact is, they simply hadn't been created yet because people who did that sort of thing didn't consider it worth their time. It's the same on console - while it's definitely possible to hack consoles, and people have done so in the past and will continue to do so in the future, many don't consider it worth their time. Even taking into account the thrill they get from doing it, PC is simply more convenient for daily usage, not to mention the obvious hardware superiority.1 -

Yeah. On PC I see many, especially around free game weekends, but on console, I haven't seen any

That used to be a big issue but thanks to Overwatch, they fixed it. You used to be able to report someone you were in a game with and if enough did it, your rep would go to “Avoid Me” and it would affect your matchmaking in other games. GTA for example would only let you play with people who also had Avoid Me rep. So a bunch of salty survivors could report you for any reason and you’d be screwed in other games (but not DbD funny enough). My rep took a nosedive the day I bought DbD and I couldn’t even play some games because it wouldn’t match me with anyone.

Console cheating is almost non existent, only lagswitching.
Not many people are willing to risk bricking their system and losing $300 or $400.

There should be a spot on the forum where you can post screenshots of death threats, death wishes and general mean spirited salt.
Maybe some shaming would help people be nicer.0 -

It is easier to exploit the game on pc.

As @Orion said, it's not that consoles can't be hacked it's that the effort isn't worth the cost of doing so and those determined will find a way. As with Pc and now Macs it's always a software side issue and the hardware ones are rare,
The hardware ones are more prevalent through routers or the sneaky firmware ones that're super difficult to detect and remove. Once consoles become much bigger and more prevalent and the rewards of hacking them are there they'll see an influx of it.
