Flashlight clicking and old mori mechanics
What I mean is that when you start a mori he just stands there for a second. What i want back is that you can start a mori, it starts the animation but if you let go before the bar fills it stops the animation.
I don´t know why they removed it but I think because of toxic killer. If this is the case (even when not it´s annoying) why can survivors flashlight click? I play on PS4 but since crossplay i´ve played against countless survs on PC who have the flashlight control on their mousewheel and clicks it so fast. Why is this even a thing?
So what I want is either bring back the old mori mechanics, or make a cooldown for the flashlights. I just thought of it but i think it would be fun if a flashlight could overheat like billys and bubbas chainsaw.
But what do you think of this?

But how am I meant to get the killers attention and annoy the killer if you stop flashlight clicking? Sure there’s tbagging but they have to look in your direction for that to work and it hinders you.
2 -
You can fastvault over windows or in and out of lockers.
Or you could simply stop to annoy the Killer / be toxic
4 -
But if I’m not being toxic then what’s the point of playing survivor? 😕
9 -
No. Old moris could be used to hold the game hostage for a slugged survivor, and flashlight clicks don't do anything.

Well you got a point xD

how can the old moris hold the game hostage but the new ones don´t?

Mori spamming was often just prolonging the inevitable (especially when done to the last survivor) while all the other stuff like tbagging, clicking, hitting hooked survivor, nodding or whatever as you down someone, spamming notifications and just about all the other "annoying" stuff ultimately has no impact on how a match plays out besides being annoying to some players.
If you're the last survivor and the killer decided to mori spam you for 3 minutes and 59 seconds you couldn't do anything about it. Someone clicking their flashlight doesn't stop you from doing whatever you want, just like a killer hitting you on the hook doesn't make you get sacrificed faster or anything.
And of course, killers can just let people bleed out and that's not against any rules. But that doesn't mean that it doesn't make sense to see stuff that might seem it more "attractive" to do so get changed.
1 -
Because the survivor can't do anything about mori spamming. You can just walk away from flashlight clicks, or even take comfort in the fact that they are one less player doing gens and ignore them.
3 -
They stopped the bleed out timer, so they wouldnt die on the ground if you spammed it.

A flashlight clicker has a limited amount of time that they can click a flashlight LMAO. Flashlights have, like, what? 20 seconds max on a purple double battery? That can be extended pretty far but not nearly as long as old moris could be, considering it takes about 4 minutes to bleed out and AFAIK, old moris paused the bleed out timer when you started to mori and then stopped.
In any case, a flashlight clicking survivor doesn't have a power role in the situation compared to the killer who is mori cancelling. You can choose to chase or not when someone flashlight clicks, but a survivor only has the option of sitting there or DC'ing/AFK'ing. I don't think that had anything to do with the change, but thought it was something worth pointing out if you were wanting to compare the two.

I love how most of the people here trys to justify flashlight clicking but say Mori clicking is not ok.
2 -
I'm sure that sounds strange but i actually like the sound of flashlight clicking as killer.
Unfortunately i haven't seen a survivor with a flashlight macro, because the sound is just hilarious to me.
Also, they lose distance by doing that (same as spamming emotes or teabagging) so it actually helps you.

Basically killer BM was nerfed while survivor BM is untouched. Shocker.

The old killer mori's were used against streamers to hold their games hostage for the most part which isn't fair to them. I think a good solution for flashlight clicking would be that every time a survivor turns the flashlight on (clicks it) it removes like let's say 0.25 seconds from the flashlight. That way too much clicking will drain the battery quicker and cause survivors to only use the flashlights when they need to.
2 -
Cause old moris could make the game never end by clicking m1 and stopping it, and flashlight not?
1 -
It does still end.

yup afterr 2 hrs of killer being bored of bming
2 -
Yeah,after like 10 years or so :]

Mori Spamming can give people seizures and serves no other purpose. Flashlight clicking can have a use to get other survivors attention.
1 -
Not at all, it's just that one could hold the game hostage for a much longer time whilst the other party (survivors) could do nothing about it.
Meanwhile, there's plenty a killer can do about a survivor clicking a flashlight such as hit them, plus it has no effect on gameplay or taking the game hostage.

Both won't happen since flashlight clicking can be used to get others survivors attention or on a more advanced base - delay flashlight saves if you started too early. It's tactical.
Mori animation on the other hand was only used to be toxic and kinda hold the game hostage.
Also, I love the WhatAboutism in this post. "They removed a toxic mechanic, so what about . . ." - Just stop it. ScottJund made a great video about this topic here

Well the solution was simple to me: keep the bleed out timer going through the mori animation. The same could be done with 2nd-phase unhooking. If the timer reaches its end and you cancel the animation, the survivor dies.
1 -
That didn't solve the issue though @danielmaster87 even with the bleedout timer going down, that survivor could be held hostage in an animation process through the whole of the timer - that's why it was removed and why previous to that it was reportable as griefing.
It is impossible to compare it to flashlight clicking because this quite simply can be solved by hitting the survivor.
7 -
I was thinking the same.
Probably surv mains
1 -
That's actually a good idea
1 -
Can the new mori's?
If not they could just add the animation cause the game can still be hold hostage
If the do there is the same problem.
So tell me why get rid of the animation?

just take a page out of Jesus' book and shine a little light on them

New moris can't because you/re already locked if you press m1, do some research.

"Oh no, whatever will I do about that guy wasting his time and his item? I'm so triggered and powerless!"

Keep falling and stop wasting my time, you loser.

old moris could hold the game hostage. flashlight clicking doesn’t do anything but annoy you.

You guys are also forgetting that mori spamming, especially with Freddy, could cause a ######### SEIZURE in some cases. It was removed not only because it could hold the game hostage but because some people, definitely one confirmed case on the forums a while back, were being hospitalised.
It's not because of dev bias. It's because of hostage situations and hospital trips.
1 -
Flashlight clicking can definitely do that as well. It's literally the most common way to cause seizures on a person susceptible to them.
1 -
I make every comment based on my personal experience. I remember forum posts of someone who's friend was sent to hospital because of a mori spamming freddy and because of the increases vfx on Doctor that own time but I haven't seen or heard anything about clicking doing it. My bad.

grow thicker skin dont get annoyed by toxicity i havent read the whole post but from the title i guess your annoyed by toxic players just dont let it get to you its just a game

Remember that time when Survivors could crash your match by spamming flashlight clicks? I remember.
Remember how bugs in Dbd like to resurface from time to time?
Reason enough to have cooldown on flashlight activations, imo.
