PSA: Disconnect penalty is back
As I didn't see official mention anywhere else.

Can't wait to see Tru3 get the 42 hour ban for not dcing once again
43 -
Why is it always Tru3 who gets hit with it? LMAO
3 -
Let's go.
5 -
I have no clue, I feel bad for him though
7 -
Puppers got hacked too if i remember correctly
9 -
1 post away from 10K comments.

Ok guys place your bets.
How long do you think it will take until the DC penalty is turned off again
10 -
I'll give it two days max.
12 -
Yeah multiple streamers got hit with ridiculous amounts of hours. Just some PoS exploiting a good mechanic.
3 -
Tru3 and Puppers get hacked constantly. Puppers I'm sure accidentally showed his ID on stream once, so hackers have free reign over his account basically, but yeah even though I actually support DC penalties the amount of support they give streamers and THEIR OWN FOG WHISPERERS is very insulting. No QoL adjustments for their streams, no compensation for this awful and insanely easy to hack system, sad really.
5 -
I say a week but not sure DC penalties is pointless survivors will just kill them self on first hook anyways.
4 -
It's not pointless, disconnecting on a down, etc, is about a lack of impulse control and temper problems. Players who disconnect don't always have the patience to even wait for a first hook and just disconnect and take the ban. So having the ban does remove those players who do it repeatedly from the game for extended periods. Players who instead wait for a hook at least have the opportunity to cool their jets before killing themselves and may change their mind.
14 -
I presume they fix their DC penalty issues ASAP, though, right?
I personally don't really feel that it's BHVR's responsibility to make it up to streamers affected by abuse of their system by hackers... it's not 100% their fault past the fact that their DC system is exploitable, which they do disable when exploits are found & abused. It would be nice if they gave a little something to Fog Whisperers as a "sorry this happened to you!" but imo... while they're to blame for their system security holes, they're not the people hacking or responsible for the hackers who abuse it. It sucks because Tru3 and Puppers most likely lose a bit of income they could be generating in the time that they have hacked ban timers, but I don't think they're entitled to anything further than an extremely quick response from BHVR, which they absolutely deserve to have.
I support the DC penalty too but I definitely feel like they need to do some major work on it if they haven't already. Perhaps they could just make the absolute maximum for even repeated DCs only be about 5-10 minutes, or something like that.
P.S. do you main Shulk in smash or do you solely play the Xenoblade games?
2 -
I'm hoping they figured out their hacker issue and have a new method of implementing the Bans. Since I'm optimistic by nature, I'm going lean toward this Ban holding up. I figure it will take at least a month+ before someone figures a way to try and duck it.
2 -
normally they kill them self you know how I know because now that it back were going to see a lot of thread can we do something about survivor killing them self on first hook.
2 -
And I distinctly remember fewer people disconnecting on a whim when the DC bans were enabled and not nearly as many complaints about the first hook deaths.
4 -
If only they were as eager to stop the rampant hacking as they are to shove this back into the game constantly.
7 -
Any mention of some sort of anti cheat program the DEVs added as well? Seems pointless to bring back DC penaltys if hackers can still force you into a ban ez
4 -
when something they do affects someone they should do something for them beyond fixing the issue. if it was just someone hacking their account for other reasons that has nothing to do with what they did, then no but by hacking the penalty system and applying it to someone when behavior did not take adequate precautions and this happens it's on behavior because they were not doing what is needed. so I agree with you if it wasn't something behavior could have done better that caused the issue.

Aren't you the optimist?

I’m thinking it’s because he isn’t afraid to call BS when he sees it, people just being really salty after he beat them (he used to have to deal with a LOT of stream snipers in the past, more than usual for a steamer), and he gets a lot of viewers.
It makes the hackers look even worse, not only are they acting like children because they can’t DC for free, but they’re trying to get back at a streamer who beat them or said something they disagree with. It’s really sad.
0 -
3rd time's the charm right?
I wanna say at least a week before hackers get another content creator.
1 -
Lol keep dreaming. They’ve been silent on anti-cheat for a long time.
All dc penalties do is ensure you cant opt out if you come across a hacker.
5 -
Me too! Good times! 🌈
4 -
Well, too bad. Seems kinda dumb to leave the players at the mercy of hackers without any form of protection if you ask me.
3 -
Because hes a big name that is critical of the game in the killers favor. If youre a survivor main that wants to send a message to the ddvs hes the perfect target
1 -
I agree, they need to treat their ambassadors much better. And I agree a rework of the penalty system needs to be looked at.
And yeah hahaha I do main Shulk since 3DS/Wii U and now in Ultimate hahaha. Xenoblade is my fav franchise.

I do remember a lot of thread people bad wording about survivors killing them self I don't know where you were yes DC will be lower but first hook death will rise so will the bad wording about it like they can do anything about it.
0 -
Oh don't get me wrong, I'm sure some portion of the people who DC will just die on hook instead. But you'll also have a good portion of people who DC either not playing the game as often (or even better not at all for people who DC all the time) and some people who might have DC'd but instead stick it out a little longer, realize they're actually not losing, and keep playing.
There will always be players complaining about everything under the Sun, though - that's the internet for you!
1 -
Can anyone actually confirm this to be true?
0 -
It does doesn't it.
4 -
I can confirm it in that I no longer see people DC. So it must be live. Hurray!
3 -
Good. DCers should be punished.
3 -
Ugh. Great timing when there is a thousand of hackers in game 👌
5 -
They do that to streamers because devs are gonna notice them easier, also they cant just act as ignoring it in front of thousands of people.
1 -
I don't know why they continue to think it's a good idea to bring this nonsense back. The game is nowhere near stable or balanced enough to warrant a penalty.
Like, honestly. If there must be a DC penalty, it should never surpass 15 minutes.
Your game is not nearly in good enough shape to warrant a penalty that can go up to hours. I get it. I play killer. Nearly constantly. People DC like it's a race and cuck me of hooks/points/bbq stacks. I totally understand that, and it sucks....but the penalty should never exceed 15 minutes. Ever. DBD has a decent game for the most part, but you're pretty full of yourselves if you think it's so good that you can say "oh you DC'd? Your game crashed? Your internet went out? One of our dedicated servers straight up lost connection with you (which is more common than you think)? You need to be punished for up to x amount of hours!"
Rocket League - a far more stable, far more balanced, and far more competitive game with less bugs, has a perfect DC penalty system, and you should take their idea and implement it here. If someone DC's, everyone else is now free to DC with no penalty. The first person is banned for 15 minutes. It never goes beyond 15 minutes - and it's done a pretty good job of curbing DC's in Rocket League ranked play.
DC penalties - you're doing it wrong. You're taking a "now you're forced to play our game" approach when you should be taking a "well, this is really unfair for everyone else" approach.
9 -
It is not just him "Bronx" was hit with it as well afaik others too so no it is not just tru3.
0 -
To add to that - tru3 gets hit with it more than other streamers because he feeds into it. He breaks the cardinal rule when dealing with trolls. He feeds the trolls. That and his holier than thou attitude. Which can be observed by his constant "I go against sweat squads non stop, despite that being literally impossible" statements. Honestly - being that narcissistic is bound to put a target on your back.
2 -
He got vilified pretty early on and it's never gone away regardless of his actions.
1 -
He did it to himself.
0 -
Yeah, the game is stable and balanced enough to warrant a penalty.
You are never forced to play a game, if you don't want to play, just don't queue up.
On the topic of game crashing, this barely ever happens, and by the time you're back in game, the penalty is already over. But if you're in so much ######### that you have 15 minutes or over on your penalty, then I think you might just hate the game.
The penalty should exceed 15 minutes, and if you mass DC, you should be forced to play with other mass disconnecters for a day or two, so you have longer queue times, and learn from your mistakes as Orion said.
Disconnecting ruins the trial for the other 4 players, and you shouldn't be able to do it unpunished.

My wife and I had multiple instances last weekend where one of us dc'd for no reason. They shouldn't implement a dc ban with current state. An example playing last week against Doctor I was dropped from the game(unknown error bs), on post screen it showed I had escaped but the doctor dc'd. Meanwhile my wife is still playing in the matchfor a good 2-3 minutes Doctor is still chasing somebody then he disconnects but midgame and post game screen it showed I dc. Nobody likes getting punished for BS.
I didn't see any update for bug fixes recently either so I'm kind of irritated they implement this when they currently have issues with connection and only have ranked and custom for game modes.
As people stated before players will just flop when they don't like what they're Fighting against. I see survivors dc more than killers though. It will essentially be no different just dead weight that players who behave have to deal with now.
2 -
Survivors killing themself on the hook at least removes those hooks off the map which helps as oppose to DC'ing on the way to the hook.
1 -
The ban is absolutely pointless if you don’t have a way for people to rejoin. It’s doing more harm than good. By the way the game still has its freeze or glitchy moments. The most common one I’ve been getting lately is when you fast vault the game pauses for a bit. By the time you recover the killers got you. Screw the dc penalty. It’s not making the game more enjoyable to be honest. Survivors still just give up and hook suicide or stop playing and give themselves up. They need to make it fun on both sides. Survivors being able to fight for their lives better would be a good way to start. Too many dead zones, terrible pallets, short walls to loop around, smaller maps, not enough hiding, too easy to get caught. People give up. Don’t fight fire with fire. Put water on it by fixing the issues that cause people to DC to begin with.
2 -
Thats what I always said. Once one person disconnects the rest should be able to.
Instead now if someone disconnects within the first minute everyone else is forced to sit and play a tilted game that nobody wants to play. How is that fair? Oh wait it’s not.
Easy to put in draconian penalties though when you dont play the game, have no intention of ever playing the game and therefore never have to deal with half of the nonsense that’s in the game.

One week

Finally! Hopefully it stays forever now.

I just noticed this earlier when I dced against an insta hatchet huntress with an ebony.
I wish they would rework moris, iri head and keys and deal with the hacking issue before implementing dc penalty again.
1 -
The "issue" that causes people to ragequit is a lack of temper and impulse control. It's all about sore losing, not about bugs. Nobody likes playing with people who disconnect on a whim, if they leave that's great.
0 -
not if they hooked in the basement.
