Wouldn’t Steve and Nancy know Ash from evil dead movies and Ash would know them from stranger things

Steve and Nancy have probably seen a few horror movies and recognise characters like Michael Myers and ash, so wouldn’t ash recognize them from possibly watching stranger things? He was around after the release of the show so he could definitely recognize them.

    Possibly separate realities.

Can't guarantee that the movies exist in every timeline or that everyone saw those movies.

These characters are medis icons now but not when they came out. Evil dead for example struggled to get rated and had a limited release.

Ash is shown to be living in a trailer in ash vs evil dead and isn't shown to sit in of a evening and watch T.V. He drinks his evenings away. Stranger things would probably five him ptsd?

Also Ash isn't twelve. I could probably bump into the actors from Stranger Things on the street and wouldn't know them from a bar of soap.

It's kind of sad that Ghostface isn't licensed as Scream though, because in Scream 1 Halloween was playing in the party scene while they talked about the rules of horror, and in Halloween H20 Scream 2 was on the tv when the girls were being checked on, so both of those film franchises exist in each others universes.

The devs have a license from "FUN WORLD". In this license they only can use "GhostFace" name by this license agreement

If Steve and Nancy do know who Michael Myers or Freddy Krueger are, they probably would not have the chance to get the autographs of the two killers, because they are killers and Steve and Nancy are survivors lol. I guess the best they could do is talk with Laurie Strode or Ash Williams while sitting around the fire.

They definitely know about Michael Myers as there’s an episode in S2 where somebody dresses up as him for Halloween. They’re probably too terrified to fangirl over him though lol.

I prefer the different realities theory, it would be kinda boring if they were just tv characters in each other's universes.

    Ash: No

    Steve: Maybe

    Nancy: S1 No, S3 Probably.

The Ash we know comes from Ash vs Evil Dead, set 30 years after the events of the original trilogy, meaning he is from 2011.

Stranger Things Season 1 was released in 2016, so Ash couldn't have possibly seen it.

Evil Dead released in 1981, two years before Stranger Things S1 is set.

Steve was a 15 y/o rebellious normie jock. He probably watched it to be cool, but probably didn't remember it.

Nancy was a 14 y/o goody two shoes. She wouldn't have watched an R-rated movie if you paid her.

Evil Dead 2 released in 1985, a few months before Stranger Things S3 is set.

Jonathan is definitely the type of person who would have watched it, and he probably would have egged Nancy into watching it with him. There's a good chance Steve would have tagged along.
