Just discovered a new cheat: Hook cheater
It always amazes me how the cheaters find new ways to develop new cheats to DBD. This time around I saw a guy hook himself without the killer on a hook to prevent the killer from hooking another survivor he was carrying. Everytime the killer was about to get to a hook to hook someone, this cheater just hangs himself on that hook like it was already occupied and then unhooked himself when the danger was over.
Did I report him, of course not. I have no video evidence of him nor do I care to bother to film every of my game and then fill out a form outside the game. Again, BHVR, provide us a real report system to deal with these cheaters, thank you.

It really is a shame that in order to deal with cheating they are completely dependant on video evidence provided by the customers. Baffling, to put it mildly.

This is why we need a theatre mode
Hell, ubisoft added that to R6 so you COULD tell if someone was cheating

I hate hackers but this is legit funny. Dude puts himself on the hook to deny a hook that is hilarious.

That dude got more hooks than you did that game

I play another game (Company of Heroes 2) where a match last longer than an hour, with more than hundred infantry and vehicles. But the game always save a replay of the last game, in case you want to save the file and able to watch it later.
I dont know how this game has 5 people walking around in a map doesnt have a build-in self-replay tools
But its not enough, there should be able to change PoV of 5 players, so if you suspect someone is cheating, you can open replay, select that cheater's PoV to see everything about them.

I actually dont understand why the developers need video evidence for everything. The logs should be enough to prove hackers like this.
Like, if the killer is carrying Survivors A, and suddenly Survivor B enters the interaction HookingIn on their own, this should be proof enough. The game litterally logs all interaction and how long they take.

I got my video recording program hot keyed to 2 buttons. So if I see something like that I can quickly turn it on. Usually if it happens once it happens again in the same match.

Yeah, next time try an get a video
Would LOVE to see what that actually looks like!

You should have reported anyway.

It is pretty funny and creative... the first time you come across it. If this got to be a regular thing it would break the game.

I found this video on Youtube with something that looks kinda like what they said
Around min 3:40

you should report them anyway, just in case.
they do see the reports after all, so i bet if enough different players report the exact same person for cheating they will get suspicious and act on that aswell.
like, if a single account has been reported like 50 times for cheating by different people in a short timespan (a day or two), that should ring some alarms.

It actually is interesting to see, at the same time it’s almost sickening to watch.
It is so disrespectful to the killer and the other players in the match.
And I know who that Oni player is also, they are console PS4 gamer.
I didn’t kno that was possible, as I play on console and haven’t ever seen a hacker.
Makes me happy I turned off crossplay and don’t game on PC.
Sorry that that happened to you and is happening to other players, especially PC gamers. It’s SO disgustingly rude and inconsiderate.
Is that a lifetime ban when they are caught?
I jus can’t imagine how they are so seemingly arrogant to show off their pathetic cheating in front of everyone like they aren’t scared to get in trouble...
and do they ever even get caught and dealt with by Behaviour?
