something strange...
Something strange happend in a match recently. I played surv. Got a gen done and everything but then a i saw a surv gone down. i waited for the killer to hook him and... he didnt. He was slugging. slugging is strange in everysituation because it doesnt really has an effect on the points of the survs, at least if they are able ro heal, and only cut the killers own hook points in half. then he did it on someon e else and then on me. but then he picked me up and... didnt hook me? "ok, #########?" was all i thought when he let me escape and heal somebody while he walked away. that game got played awhile until i noticed something. when a surv was like only one hit away from dying, he stoped chasing him. in the end he let all of us go. i asked him what all of that was about and he said, he dont want any more ranks and dont really like the hookes. he just wants to have brutally killing fun and give survs like free healing points. and i calculated a bit. he was right. as a surv, you almost get as much points from straight heeling than from the unhooking action and if you escape you can still get on a new rank.
the thing is now that i want to do this aswell, but im afraid. first it is kind of toxic or can be seen as and second, im not sure if you can get a ban from this or whatever. even though i dont like the hooks so much (just not a friend of the entity storyline), and it is really quiet fun to just hit them, i suspect, i dont now how other players would see this.
hey other player, how do you see this? (XD)

I play like that from time to time if there's an early DC or I got 4 hooks before one gen been done.
The survivors will usually pick up on what you're doing and just go with it. Usually, not all the time their always seem's to be one that just keeps pushing out gen's. But it's fun

Regarding slugging, if you are aiming to either get 3- or 4- kills or are aiming to get a higher endgame score than all the survivors then slugging actually makes sense strategically because if you can manage to down all living survivors simultaneously then, while you won’t get quite as high a score since you had fewer hooks, the survivors scores will tend to be even lower because they died that much more quickly.
Personally I don’t bother slugging to that extent, it’s not as much fun for me as hooking people, and like you said my currency bonus at the end is lower to boot, but I will often slug a survivor to chase a second survivor so I can spread the pressure. Simply hooking right away after a down isn’t always the correct play.

No problem if they see that you're going to let them escape they play along

this isn't too far off of the way I like to play killer. I will down and hook everyone twice, anyone I've gotten to stage 2 I carry around while I patrol and let them wiggle off, or just leave them slugged next to a teammate
it makes for a fun game for both sides and everyone gets absolute lakes of bloodpoints.
that is until the survivors start treating it like a farming match (chasing me, not doing gens, etc) then I start with the death hooks

Slugging isn’t bannable.
It’s a valid strategy and I personally don’t mind that playstyle.
Chase, hit, down, hook, kill can get typical and boring. Nothing wrong with switching things up a bit.
If what you are describing ever fell under the category of farming points... The devs have stated that they dislike the act of points farming and are highly against it. Farming is not listed anywhere as a bannable offence, but it can be interpreted as "intentional gameplay abuse."
Though, seeing as how there wasn’t repetitive hooking/unhooking, simply chases, hitting downing while objectives were being completed, it doesn’t sound like full fledged farming.
The killer certainly gets the raw end of the deal there though, while survivors potentially can gain a 2pip depending on how long they stayed in the killer’s presence throughout the match without being hooked or sacrificed.

I would rather everybody just play normally, but I respect that some people want to farm. The only thing I'd say is that, if the survivors don't want to farm with you and they ask you to kill them, please kill them and let them out of the trial instead of keeping them prisoner. I've had it both ways.
(Also, after reading your post, I kind of think it would be funny if everyone who plays killer protested against the tyranny of the entity by refusing to sacrifice anyone).
