Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

How do you Perk your Killer?

I now, theire are some good as hell perks and perk builds, but, in my point of view, not all perks suit all killers. i allways try to match a perk with the killer. Like the demo. my demo always use bloodhound and surge because its obvious. if you watch stranger things you know what i mean.but, even though i know that best to last works wonders on demo, i dont youse it because first i like his screech and second the possesion concept doesnt work for him. and my myers: except for one, all my myers perks are possesion perks: best to last dying light and rancour. in relation to a killers who kills his possesin at last, my freddy is a killer, who kilss his posesion at first. never forget and fortive chase are my best freddy perks. but my trapper doesnt uses something like that. for me hes like a jason, so i dont use any "telekinetik magic" stuff at all, doesnt have a possesion at all and only uses strenght perks like brutal strenght, enduring, iron grasp and unrealenting. you see were this is going: unatural power ,strenght and health, but no magic stuff, and hes still a good killer. the same thing is it with curses. the hag, the nusre and the plauge for example are so good for curses but charecters like the demo or letherface doesnt work with curses. ghostface and legion are special. same conzept like trapper, but more focus on being fast and catchy like predator or iron maiden. plus ghostface gets best to last aswell. The last imprtant thing for me, is thatevery killer is using at least one of theire on perks. the devs often tries to match the perks to the personaly of the killer, so that works aswell.

you maybe think that this whole mechanick only ruins the killers, but thats just not true (for me), it improves every experience i have with the killers and makes the whole game a lot more fun.

do you do it the same, do you have some special perk builds you want to share? maybey with a story? or do you think im a stinky noop who should still keep pooping in his pants while you make king rank 1 perk builds? (sorry, i really had to laught, writing this XD)

I play the perks I think will give me the best chance to win and has synergy with the killer's power.

However when I play survivor, I do like to play at least one perk from that character. So my Tapp has Detective's hunch, My Feng has Alert, etc.

I will use other teachables, but i like having at least one of their own perks in my survivor builds. IDK it is just fun for me.

There is a lot of good advice and interesting builds here and on Youtube, etc. However, it is important to take your own personal play style (weaknesses and strengths) into account. Some Perks, not matter how Meta, will not work well for you based on how YOU play. Lean into your strengths and avoid a Perk that rewards play that you are terrible at. Does that make sense?

pretty much, but i was not looking for advice how to perk a was just asking how you perk and share my own personal experience. sorry if that part was confusing.

I prefer passive perks I don’t have to work to activate so I can just play how I want. For example, my legion build is BBQ; Surge, Blood Echo, and Enduring.

Since I play Myers exclusively until I feel competent with him, I prefer Hex builds which slow down the Gen-Rush and/or provide me with more information to find the Survivors faster.

As a rule of thumb, I don't assume I'm a top tier player and slot perks to cover my weaknesses.

One of my favorite perks to run as Hag (my main) is Unrelenting. It's not meta... but, well, I miss attacks. Considering Hag's only way of damaging people is ultimately M1s, I do a lot of them. I lunge and fall for DHs. I Teleport a split second too late and arrive out of range. While I'm much better at dealing with 360s and wiggles, I still miss from time to time. Unrelenting makes your mistakes so much less punishing. You can whiff 3 times and still be right on someone's tail.

Obviously Unrelenting is a wasted perk on a good killer who almost never misses an M1... but when you miss a lot of them, it's S-Tier. :D

    Depends on the Killer.

If I'm playing someone like Blight, I'm playing to win, so hard slowdown and map pressure Perks that work well with him like Ruindying, Thrill of the Hunt, BBQ, Tinkerer, that sort of thing.

If I'm playing Pyramid Head, who's a beast in a chase but has terrible mobility, I'm playing for fun, but I still want to win. So Perks that kind of let me engage in fun stuff by slowing the game down and preventing me from needing to sweat my ass off, as well as tracking to find and chase more people. Ruinveillance, Undying, and Nurse's.

If I'm playing Legion, I expect to get my ass whooped no matter how well I play because I'm using a godawful Killer, so I just run Perks that feel nice. Enduring, Brutal, Shadowborn, Thana.

Usually I go through the same process to pick my perks. 1.Something that will help me early game or a hex, 2. then I pick something to help me in chases or something that will help me find people when they are sneaky or hiding, 3. then I pick something that will help me late game. With 1 perk slot left to synergize with said build.

Ofcourse perks are picked based on the killers power. For example I will not pick a perk that will help me find survivors when I play doctor. He has that already build in his kit. And if I really want to play a build that doesnt fit that killer I switch killer.

Meme builds are something Im really into as well. "Blood build": Bloodhound, Blood Warden, Blood favour, Blood Echo 😝. "I see you build": Im all ears, BBQ, Nurses Calling, Shadowborn/Rancor. "You see nothing build": 3rd Seal, Knockout, Nemesis, Deathbound +any blind addons
