My Theory On Why We Can't Get Serum Viles

Because of the pandemic, a lot of people are out of jobs, even if the pandemic has gotten slightly better. They still need to make money because when the pandemic first started it did kind of screw over a bunch of companies.

This is just a theory obviously it might come back next year though I don't know. All I can say is just try and sit tight and support the game and its development. I myself have put over $100 into the games here, because I bought all the DLCs and a bunch of different cosmetics, except people still need their paychecks. A couple hundred dollars is not going to help the game a lot, but it might help a little bit.

Yes, I do admit it does come off as money hungry, and it is upsetting to see that we won't be able to buy any cosmetics with the serum, but even then I will still support the game. Even if it's broken at times and sort of unbalanced.

2020 is just a rough year right now, who knows they might make up for it, it's a big might, but they might do something around Christmas hopefully, just to make up for what happened during the fall event.

Don't want to slam on you, I really don't, but BHVR has gotten away with a lot of crap over time way before this pandemic stuff started, and games overall have been on the rise since everyone is at home, this doesn't excuse the fact that they never had a good economy in-game to start with.

Don't be mislead to believe it's all related to pandemic stuff, it all started way way before.

but the money we spend on the game just might be paying the people's paychecks who help to work on the game, even if the game has bad fps, weird hitboxes, etc.

I don't really care either way. Free stuff is nice but I'm not all that concerned that they don't give free stuff out for an event (I'm happy enough with extra BP).

That said, it feels like your argument can just as easily be flipped. A lot of people right now are squeezed to feed their family, let alone buy some digital clothing. A lot of goodwill can be made with giving out some free digital swag...

I bought the previous rifts. They acted like they responded to them being grindy but they didn't. They acted like they understood why people didn't like some of the rewards but nothing changed. Theyt acknowledged how ######### it is that all these rewards are timed but previous rifts still can't be purchased or played because they're relying on predatory business practises to sell Rift passes.

I'll only buy this one if I somehow make it to level 70 by the end, but outside of playing the Blight when I'm in the mood for killer (which isn't very often anymore) I highly doubt that will be the case.

Consistent terrible killer releases and out of touch balance changes have pushed me further and further from this game as of late.

I feel like I'm drifting away from this game after nearly 4 years which makes me sad.

Don't get me wrong I do admit I don't have lots of knowledge on this company, considering I did get the game last year in July, but my Xbox cord fried for 5 months and I couldn't participate in the Halloween event last year and I didn't get a new cord until Christmas.

You do realize that BHVR is a modern gaming company, right? They work with IT. Computers. They can work just as fine remote working and attending meetings in Zoom. We've done the same at my job. Heck, I've not been at work since MARCH.

BHVR is showing their true colors. That they value money over everything else. Even player good will. They're willing to drive it all into the ground to earn some extra money.

So bleed those same players who have gone through the same garbage? BHVR can go ######### itself all the way to the poor house!

I dont think BHVR is suffering ecnomically from the pandemic tho, I believe videogames is one of the few industries which benefited from it, more people at home playing and trying games to kill the boredom.

Being I am only 15 I don't have much knowledge on companies myself, since I can't get a job due to personal reasoning. But @Enlyne did explain to me they pulled this type of crap in the past, which I didn't know about since my Xbox cord had fried last year from the Halloween event up to Christmas. Plus I got my game in July of last year.

I doubt money is the reason, at least in the way you see it.

They've said they don't want to do big events anymore and on top of that aren't in-studio so workloads and priorities probably shifted. I personally think this event was a result of the last two points as well as seeing an opportunity to monetize Halloween further than last year.

My main point of this though, was we don't need free cosmetics, cosmetics are just a cool skin to have. Yeah it does kind of suck, but in the end it's just the game that we can play.

I guarantee you that the pandemic actually helps gaming corporations, I guarantee you, just look on the steam charts at Dead by Daylight since the pandemic started, the playerbase has almost doubled, what are you talking about? In fact, us, the players are the ones that are losing our jobs, not them. Like someone said earlier, this is going way before the pandemic and I'll give you an example, the Chinese New Year was the same as this new Halloween event, just a bunch of skins you had to pay for. Stop white knighting BHVR when it's not the case, they are supposed to make us want to invest time and money in their game, but this update is the worst in years, no event, the Tome is the worst out of all 5 (recoloured skins and pathetic new ones) and minor changes, I, for one, don't consider a graphic update "a big change", I never had a problem with the old graphics to begin with, but, I do have a problem with almost everything else in this game, from balancing, to gamebreaking bugs, latency problems etc. They make aprox. 113 million $ anually out of the cosmetic store alone (no rift pass, no DLCs, no base game included) so they really don't have any excuse. They shoud at least have the decency to thank us for supporting them for years by giving us a good event, but this isn't an event to start with, it's just a bunch of new skins you have to pay for, WOW, NICE EVENT!

its just a cashgrab, they arent poor they want your money and pepole to think like this. Dead by Daylight is a game and because of coronavirus there is lots of pepole stuck in their homes, they are likely to play games and find new ones, buy dlc etc. Its why BHVR isnt poor and this event is a cashgrab. Dont get fooled. :)

Please don't get angry with me, if you read through my other comments people were informing me of stuff they've done, I just got the game last year and I was just putting my take on what happened. This is not me white knighting the company. I was just simply saying something. just because I said something that was my opinion on what happened, you don't have to take your anger out on me because something didn't go right this year. If you took the time to read through my other comments you will see that I got the game last year, in July.

You're probably too young and naive to see the entire picture, then.

That is true, I will admit, also considering the short amount of time I have had the game I won't know much about it as other people who are the OGs would know. As I stated though this is just my take on it what I thought it's not true most likely but still I wanted to just have some sort of hope.

The average salary of a game developer is $200,000. Behavior is a company worth tens of millions, if not hundreds of millions of dollars. What the devs of this game make in a month is close to if not more than what you make in a year.

Just imagine making ten times your salary with one quarter of the work. These are the people that have decision making power within the company, they don't deserve your empathy.

I see where you are coming from and I appreciate you informing me instead of bashing me for what I have said. I hope you have fun in your future games even if you do deal with toxic people, and I really hope for a good future for you. Like Mr. Spock says live long and prosper

Don't worry, I'm not angry with you, I'm with them, I was like you during my first hours playing this game, but after a while, you start to notice things that are not ok, I apologise if you thought I was angry with you. I'm not.

It's okay, other people have informed me on things that did happen in the past with behavior, but sometimes I just try and see the good in things, even if they're probably is no good.

Dbd hasn’t really suffered this year due to the pandemic. They’ve gained more players due to it. Thus meaning more money. And they’re on the game pass for Xbox now. They’re doing probably better than ever.

I appreciate you trying to see good things in people and, in this case, companies, but, eventually, you have to learn not to look for good things where there are none because this will prove detrimental in the future.

This does not make any sense at all. People being home/out of jobs applies to both the corporation and the consumer. How are the average consumer supposed to afford digital skins to support a company while they are out of work?

If that's the case, they should tell us.

If other game devs can admit they have a problem due to covid, I don't see why BHVR can't.

Hell, even the Smash Bros team admitted that there was no update because of it.
