Hey Devs, remember that WE are the reason that you are succesful
Just a reminder for YOU DEVS. WE (the community) are the reason why you became succesful. 2016 we saw this game. We saw potential. We gave you the chance. Chance to improve, make DbD big and be financially succesful. We supported you day in day out. We bought DLCs, Streamed DbD, Shared DbD, recommended DbD to friends and made DbD that popular how it is today.
Isnt it time to give something back? Something truly and honest to thank us? Or do we not deserve it unless we continue spending money and support you for another 4 years?
UPDATE: Devs, why cant you copy paste old events? Thats all what we want, just do it.

They DO appreciate us!
But money on the other hand... Here's your paid skins :D

The amount of entitlement here... the smell is high enough to kill a cow.

Found the white knight
80 -
I'm not trying to "white knight" anything. There are plenty of things that could be improved on the game and with the sheer amount of customers there will be requests. But I think the devs do TRY and make people happy even when you or I aren't satisfied.
Heaven forbid we realize the devs are human.
8 -
I'm sorry but this event is clear evidence that they don't care about their costumers.
It's even worse then last years halloween event.
And i don't really think it's the devs that are at fault but rather the higher ups that probably force them to act this way.
At least i hope so
48 -
Ye i can move my finger at work and say im trying but im not succeeding, this halloween so called "event" is another example of how ######### greedy the devs are, all they care about are money money and ye money they don't give a single ######### about us just our wallets
12 -
I don't even care about the event. I just want the game to be more balanced and fun to play and accessible to more people like those with color blindness
5 -
have you ever played a truly fun and exciting event? Like the BBQ event in DbD or something better in other games? Because good events are absolutly amazing and really healthy for a repetitive game like DbD with one single game mode
7 -
Do you genuinely believe that? I'm just saying it wouldn't hurt to humble ourselves and give the devs appreciation for what they DO. Expecting them to just give us ######### for free isn't how the real world works. They're working from HOME right now and still pushing updates out. I didn't realize the forums were just as bad as Twitter with pitchforks and torches.
3 -
Agreed.
8 -
The event is indeed really bad, but claiming that community is responsible for game's success is rather delusional.
3 -
This might be the most POS, entitled post I have ever seen in my life. I made an account just to comment how much of an ######### you are. I was part of the Smash Bros community and even there I haven't seen this amount of entitlement before. The devs don't owe #########, especially for a community this toxic.
6 -
Classic, let's just feed the circlejerk and add nothing constructive to the conversation.
@LunaWater is correct that the complaints on this forum often reek of entitlement. I'm getting tired of responding to threads of people saying "Devs hate killer", "Devs hate survivor", "Devs made free content that isn't easy enough to unlock", "This challenge that gives me free BPs is too hard", "Devs nerfed perk X without nerfing perk Y", "Devs didn't change anything from the PTB, so what was the point of the PTB?", "Devs changed something from the PTB, they were planning to do that anyway and just wanted to avoid early backlash", etc.
By all means, submit feedback about anything, big or small. BUT, be civil and attempt to see the issue from both sides. The amount of posts just antagonistically whining and spewing insults at the dev team because they didn't give them everything they wanted is just exhausting to read through. It needs to stop.
The devs are NOT perfect, and I have my own list of wants for this game, starting with improved performance. Still, I spend most of my energy on the forum responding to threads with entitled people loudly complaining about the devs not fixing their pet issue first. I would like to not have to do this any longer. The answer may ultimately be just deleting my account and spending my time in a more productive way, but I may as well appeal to people to chill the ######### out first.

pure greed we all know this event meant to be fun earn free stuff with this game not having many good events anymore them messing up halloween event being horror game is a let down I bet most going to skip the so called event or quit the game altogether.
btw this thread maybe move to the other thread being it about the same thing.
7 -
?
I agree that there's a lot of circlejerking on this forum and people that just can't stay civil,
but in this case people are rightfully upset.
Tell me 1 reason why we shouldn't be able to grind for 6 cosmetic pieces like in the previous years.
4 -
How succesful would DbD be without a community? Exactly, nothing. Dont bite the hand which feeds you might fit to a certain extend.
14 -
Also, responding to some people here in this forum is just a waste of time.
0 -
lul imagine thinking to give feedback to BHVR is worth in 2020. We tried before, they usually dont listen.
8 -
It is conceptually wrong from economic/behavioral POV.
"Community" is a group of customers. Customers are not the REASON a product becomes succesfull, they are its result.
0 -
you made a good point, too much commie-like for my style but still right. devs got blinded by the money and it's cause the same community was willing to be fed with only skins instead of bug fixing, to the point where skins became the priority.
2 -
Basically [this].
It would be great to be able to grind for cosmetics, but people shouldn't feel entitled to that either. Many multiplayer games with higher price tags don't have seasonal events at all.
0 -
You're not wrong :D
2 -
I have noticed though do correct me on this because ive stopped spending as much time on the forums but havent the devs severely toned down their activity on here as well? Like im thinking back to the summer when I was basically on the forums every day and saw constant amounts of devs talking and now it doesnt look like that's the case anymore.
0 -
Look at the state of the game in 2016 and look at all of the content added and positive balance changes made since then. Their priorities don't always line up with those of people on the forum, but they certainly are improving the game over time. If I were a developer I would be way more likely to drop by a forum with well-thought-out, measured feedback than one that cries wolf at the smallest changes, often before they even hit the PTB.
1 -
I don't think they come here anymore.
0 -
Yeah I'm not 100% on that, but you might be right. If that's the case I can't say I blame them, though. They have to wade through an awful lot of toxicity here to get at any real feedback and I'm sure their to-do list is already quite long.
0 -
That attitude is why they've lost over 9k players average and 23000 peak on steam in the last 30 days. They keep on with this arrogance and they're going to be out of a job, and let's face it, they dont have many prospects.
9 -
Not in this case. I gladly remind you that DbD was initially launched in Alpha state, then went into Beta and OFFICIALLY went to stable (despite it had still many issues) but we continued supporting so they have a chance.
0 -
It's not about them giving us ######### for free it's about the way they release a half ass patch that they thought was gonna fly as a "event" every other game that isn't even a horror game has a great Halloween event. These developers pull this ######### on us? This is a straight up spit to the face for us veteran players that put our time and money into their product only to be treated like cash cows, and have you seen what they did to PS4? They don't even test updates before they release it on console they just test on their $3000 PC's and release it on every platform with no concern of how it will perform on other hardware. The cherry on the top that made the forum's blow a fuse was that even after all these bugs and ######### event they have the audacity to not make a skin earnable, so what's the point of playing the "event" if there's no Double BPs or a skin to work towards?
3 -
They definetely deserve to feel entitled if we were able to grind them in the previous years. No reason to stop with that all.
Yes,but if they don't want to do events anymore then they should just tell us exactly that but no,they are even advertising this atrocity as an "event" which is downright insulting to the playerbase imo
4 -
People played the game because they liked it. It´s not a coordinated sacrifice of a large group of people, but an independant decision of many individual consumers.
4 -
The solution is easy. Do you want them to listen to us? Stop buying skin, and stop "supporting" them and you will see how more than once they will listen to us. So the next Halloween could return the putrid serum. So they stop taking us for idiots
5 -
I very much agree that we should be able to earn like last year. But at the same time I myself choose to pay for things to support the game and it's creators. Not paying because I'm privileging them with my money.
Again, criticism is valid for any product but this post is rude when it doesn't need to be at all.
0 -
or they just close the game.
0 -
isn't that what happens with mlm's?
0 -
I agree that the post sounds a bit rude and won't help solving this problem considering the tone of it but i can definetely understand the frustration that motivated this post
4 -
Of course we're entitled, we paid for the game
6 -
the terms are minnows, dolphins, whales, and krakens.
These are actual terms used by the industry and they alongside phycologists use these terms to chart and implement plans on how to get the most money out of people before they drop the game.
0 -
This is a little offensive.
Sure they have their stuff ups, and the live release of 4.3.0 is a total debacle, but your post completely ignores all of the free stuff that has been provided over the years, and significant improvements in balance.
3 -
What an entitled post. Sick of seeing these. The devs don't owe you anything, but they ARE constantly trying to change and update the game to keep it fun and fair. You don't like it? Feel free to complain, but there are vastly different mindsets across the whole community that contradict each other, so keep that in mind.
1 -
Enjoy being a whale for the latest live service 🐋
8 -
if hes rich enough they would classify him as a kraken. Though I think that's reserved for Saudi princes and such.
5 -
oh, you mean the free reskins? Or what? The last character we got for free was huntress iirc and that has been some time now
4 -
I wanna be a Kraken ;_;
0 -
So we're entitled to what we paid for. We're not entitled to rewards from the developers to prove how grateful they are for a successful transaction, the way OP is implying.
For the record, not saying that the developers shouldn't be grateful, or that it isn't in their best interests to make players feel appreciated. What I'm saying is that it isn't our right to expect such things just because we bought something from them.
0 -
Yes I agree. This event sucks so bad. It's Halloween and here I was expecting something at least.
Wait for Black Friday? Christmas? New year's? ???
3 -
The 2018 Halloween event hooked me onto DBD. This ######### will end it.
4 -
Considering DBD is like the most famous asymmetrical horror game out there it's pretty sad to see such a lackluster and lazy """event"""
I would be extremely surprised if we ever get a good event again
6 -
Would there be at least a sale on Halloween?
