Why no other game will beat DBD

*this is all opinion*

Many games have tried and will try but none of them will succeed. They can have the best graphics, the most fun gameplay, zero bugs and the most transparent Dev team ever, and they will still fail.

Why?

Because something I think behavior does when negotiating licensed content. I beleive that they negotiate exclusivity into the terms. Much like EA and the NFL, you will not be able to play Myers anywhere else but in DbD.

And regardless of everything else, seeing these iconic characters is a big part of the appeal of this game.

Of course im speculating but I think it makes sense. Which in my opinion makes every other horror asymmetrical game much more likely to fail.

There is no other game of this genre that is as addictive. DBD also has all these Iconic killers available. What other game lets you play as freddy, or Michael in the same game? None as far as I know, but if there is one out there then it is doing poorly in being relevant.

I'm not sure. Mortal Kombat has also been known to use horror iconic characters.

Also Call of Duty has Leatherface for Halloween IIRC

I would leave and never come back if one of their competitors offered a better experience with original characters. I don't much care for the licensed killers, and what keeps people playing this game isn't the licensed characters, it's the addictive nature of the game.

It’s not the licensed characters that make the game, it’s the gameplay. I have more fun with the original Killers vs their licensed Killers.

If a good gaming studio came out with a competing game with a different theme, and did their best to make it engaging and fun, Dbds days would be numbered.

It doesn’t have to be horror, it just needs to be well thought out and properly executed.

DBD is beating itself. The downfall will be these godawful patches. PS4 is unplayable. Not everyone is buying the next gen consoles what happens to those players when we get more of these patches? BHVR GREED and utter INCOMPETENCE will be the downfall of this game.

No, it's actually a dumpster fire. As mediocre as most other asymm/asymm horror games that have come out since DBD's popularity are, mediocre is still better than "Jesus Christ how did this abomination ever get considered a good game holy hell."
