BHVR "Transparency"
So the recent QnA has really REALLY agitated me.
Legit 90% of the questions were met with "We can't say as we haven't confirmed anything"
Then WHY would you choose the question? It's not like anyone's surprising you with these questions. You have time to prepare answers!
As to the whole "We have ideas but we won't say them"
WHY THE HELL NOT? Wouldn't it be nice to hear what you guys had in mind? You guys hardly ever tell us things anyway. I get the whole licensing stuff but what does balance changes have to do with it?
Please stop it with these baseless answeres that give us absolutely nothing!
If this gets moved to feedback and suggestions then we know why.

Because all their ideas are about how to get more money, and they know the community won't respond well to hearing that.

I mean they did say a lot. Perks they were working on. Killers they were looking at. Don't act like they didn't give us a decent amount of information

We take the most upvoted questions, we've said in the past why we're doing this. If we don't take the most upvoted question we get accused of cherry picking the questions but quite often the most upvoted question is about upcoming things which we are not in a position to discuss yet - that happens for many different reasons.
Although in yesterday's stream I think a lot of questions were answered fully, there were a few things that can't be answered further but we gave out as much information as we possibly could.
9 -
Meanwhile they completely ignore the questions like "Why do you release updates with a ton of bugs in them?"
21 -
Here’s a question that is asked by like 50% of your Comunity that you all refuse to answer and actively shut down threads about it: when will the promised console optimization be done.?
it’s been near 2 years. How about answer that
23 -
All the perks they mentioned No one cares about. The only thing I could find good about the QnA Is that clown is next for a rework/changes. Everything else didn't really matter. They aren't looking at what's an incredibly high topic Decisive Strike.
The information they give is information that very few people care about. They ignore the contraversial things when THATS THE MAJORITY OF THE ISSUE!
I know these guys can do better but COME ON. It's so irritating man. It's been this way for years.

Don't missunderstand me, but I guess there's a saying that goes like that "bad if you do and bad if you don't do" so if you're going to be accused of anything at least you could pick the question you can actually provide an answer for. Politicians and every company do all the time. If I get most votes asking "What is your bank account?" Are you going to answer it? Sometimes a good question have not up votes because no one bothered in reading it or it's too long for some people to bother reading it and perhaps it's a question that you can give an answer for. As I said, I completely get it, but this is not a press report, you can choose whose questions to reply, and if 70% of the answers are going to be "We are working on it, we can't say anything" Why holding a Q&A in the first place? I get DbD community can be very toxic and a lot to handle, but there are times where I saw devs joining the "trolling" instead of giving a proper adult answer.
I am going to say it, the mods like you sometimes act better or more adultlike than some devs and as you did, you give a more proper answer and handle situations better. And thank you for your hard work
I don't have the proof here but when the DC ban first came out, many people complained that they get 30 mins bans or 1 hours bans even thought they just DC'ed one time at most, many users said "if you have a ban that long I am going to bet you ragequitted a lot, and you deserve the ban" and some devs, didn't change their reply. Yet I always see the mods saying "We are sorry that you're experiencing this issue and that's something the team is trying to fix" or giving answers like that.
When someone was having a problem, even a dev joined the trolling and I told him "post this in the bug reports", and another user said this "I can't believe only just one person gave a proper answer and it's not even a dev". I personally love DbD but thinking that buying something is buying from that kind of people, makes me not want to play the game anymore. Yes, many people think that "it's cool that they hang out with the community and troll" but they should be more serious since they are working, if there's a trolling post or a joke to the devs then that's ok, you can bluff all you want, but if someone needs help and instead of helping you're trolling him... It's like at elementary school when classmmates bully you and the teacher does nothing against it.

Sorry to burst your bubble but there was an entire reddit thread dedicated to unjust bans and proof of mods going a bit crazy. It's since been deleted but I won't delve into it
10 -
I mean i can relate to unjust bans because i got a warning for something the mod was wrong about lol.

1) The comment was actually rather xenophobic and implied BHVR kneeled down to worship Big Daddy China, as well as implying Chinese people don't know what good will is. Implying these things is, naturally, against forum rules.
2) Discussing people's bans is, also, against forum rules.

I'd debate with you on that but you have a point about #2
2 -
You should just copy this to your clipboard..no one seems to want to understand...
2 -
I fail to see how it is xenophobia or implies Chinese people don't understand good will, it seemed more like he was implying it is less impactful in the chinese market due to Government control of most corporations in most industries. I'm not on about the ban at all I just want to know why and where you think these were implied?
3 -
I wish they'd give a real answer to console optimization. Last time of "oh graphic updates will take care of it." PS4 would very much disagree with that.
7 -
I understand you have to pay your bills to China, but in the Western world, there's a thing in business called "Good Will".
Please try and show me how that doesn't sound condescending and boarderline xenophobic, implying BHVR kneels down to suck off China (minority share, btw) and Chinese corporations don't know what good will is.

honestly im tempted to lol

As a video game programmer. I don't work for BHVR, but i'll tell you why. BHVR is not a massive company, they don't have a whole 2-3 squads of testers to find every single bug that the THOUSANDS of players can find a day. Next to that, a game like Dead by Daylight has SO MUCH CODING! Like have you even gone into the coding of this game? It's nuts! Do you even realize how hard sound interactions are for coding? Well that's like at least 30-55 % of this games code, just to give YOU - the player. A horror atmosphere.
So yeah. There are a lot of bugs because this isn't exactly the easiest kind of game to create. It's not just some generic map, that has a few generic character models, with only 80 sound files to shoot guns at each other. I know I give the Dev's a hard time around balancing, but when it comes to bugs. Honestly people need to stop and think for a moment that video game development is not your profession, so just assume the developers are doing all they can to fix the bugs in their game. They are professionals, you are not.

1 Being condescending has nothing to do with if something is xenophobic
2 Where is prejudice shown against the Chinese people?
3 Yes it is implying that BHVR are trying to appease their shareholders something all companies do
4 It is not implying Chinese corporations don't know what good will is, just that they don't need to care about it due to the governments past and current banning of competitors to the state owned corporations, If you want to see goodwill in china look to the small businesses.

Can we not turn this topic into a topic about bans, because that'll quickly get locked! Plus it's off topic to the discussion at hand.

LMAO. "programming hard"
How about spending some of the money earned by pushing skins to addicted children to improve the testing pipeline then. There is a PTB, how about actually using it? A lot of smaller indie games manage to put out one patch without breaking sound for several months. How about not using Fisher Price (TM) software building blocks programming and actually optimize and understand what the code is doing instead of inserting yet abother blueprint into your jenga tower of spaghetti code?
At some point, after millions of dollars earned by making cosmetics for a bare bone functionality game kept afloat by buying licenses to huge old-school horror franschises, they are no longer elegible to be called a small company. If this keeps up, with excuses and failed patches, eventually the license holders will no longer want to associate with the game.
Maybe strive to be better and accept that there is something horribly wrong with how the game has been managed, unless the end goal is not to milk all paypigs dry before shutting down the servers. You are not helping.

You just snitched on yourself "upcoming" is a clue
0 -
dammit, now you know that's upcoming!
0 -
Well I have no clue what things were talked about and either way it seems no one paid attention to that one word that indicates a lot more. Maybe you didn't mean that some things were guaranteed but obviously you guys are looking into things so thanks for the tip.

@Komodo16 fortunately I was talking about upcoming in the broadest sense, there's always something upcoming, always something new going to happen :)
1 -
Still you did say that you guya didnt answer on upcoming issues. That means they are still going to be looked at. And even if it is broad there are LOADS of things that can be upcoming and regardless of what it is if it involves problems in the game I cant wait to see.

The team for fixing bugs, and the team for designing cosmetics are two different groups of people. Yet another person making an uneducated comment on the forums.

Why can't you name the questions you would like, but cannot to answer and then answer the questions you can answer? If you don't straight up ignore most upvoted questions, but name them in first 5 minutes of Q&A as the ones you can't asnwer, I doubt anyone would get angry. Just 5 more minutes and everybody's happy.

So you need thousands of people to see that there was something wrong with last update on ps4? And bhvr isn't small, they have around 600 people. That's more than some devs have for a AAA video game
3 -
I'm gonna call BS.
3 -
Dare someone to suggest that the gentle moderators might have an agenda beyond simply making sure everybody plays nice? Perish the thought!

You get one retort to your inane ramblings and you lash out like a petulent child? Try to at least give me the courtesy to represent my arguments in an honest fashion. I never even mentioned the different teams that develop the game, in fact I specificaly mentioned that they should consider using the proceeds from the cosmetic sales to hire additional developers instead of letting the game stagnate in favor of a digital wardrobe.
In either case, all the teams that develop the art, game, website and handle social media hardly exist in a vacuum. They are one entity and are dependent on eachother. If you let the game go to ######### and spend all money hiring additional graphic designers in the end there won't be any market to push your ######### baubles to.
Maybe there could be some kind of moderation? No, of course not. My feeble, uneducated little mind cannot grasp the intricacies of game development. Please don't bother mentioning your diploma-mill degree in game development, I am already hospitalized due to the inferiority complex brought on by your earlier showing.

Is there any specific reason the dev team doesn't take the Mojang approach to combat changes (i.e. giving the community more than enough knowledge about developments so that the dev team doesn't end up making people frustrated or annoyed when the changes are finally sealed prior to release)?
2 -
Every Q&A is like that. There's nothing important being answered.

I love the way you speak your mind, keep it up :D
