I don't want to sound ungrateful, but don't you think 10k shards for just 1 skin is too little?
i mean, thanks guys for the iridescent shards and bloodpoints
(and the eternal blight event skin discounts).
but in the past years we received 2 complete cosmetics, why would this event be an exception?
It would be incredible that instead of giving 10k shards to the community, make 18k or 19k so that the community can buy 2 complete cosmetics.
It would be awsome

I think we should be happy we got anything I just want to streamer charm thing fix not working for some ps4 x box switch players even tho some streamer trying to help with that not working I feel like some pc user getting more then 1 or 2 of this charm.

No, you should never, in any circumstance, "be happy you got anything" when it comes to a product you've paid money for. This isn't a charity for them, and it's not a charity for you, either. You should always be demanding more bang for your buck from any product or service you pay for. And then the company behind that product or service will be trying to get more dollars from you than they put into the product or service.
The whole thing kind of falls apart and becomes a shitshow when consumers are "grateful" for being allowed to spend less-than-a-ridiculous-amount-of-currency-that-still-took-hundreds-of-hours-to-earn in exchange for a skin. It's okay to enjoy something, or to think you got a pretty good deal, but going "oh well, at least it's something" means the product or service is not meeting your expectations.

No, because you can keep Shards to buy new Killer/Survivor. Past events didn't offer this option before which I find amazing.

I believe they did it this way this year so people can actually choose if they want to have the skins or not. By giving us the resources they allow us a different kind of freedom to pick what we want instead of the "Here is your skins go Hamm" I personally prefer having the resources since I only get maybe 1~3 skins on characters I REALLY like. It allows me to put those points into perks from people I don't necessarily want to play. At least those are my thoughts on it.

100% agree with this. I don't mind when a game adds in cosmetics and stuff, but we all paid full price for this game (Unless you bought it in a sale or play via Xbox Game Pass). I appreciate it when we get events, but this event feels more like a mobile games microtransactions event. Like, you get a little in the game for free, but you want more? Fork out some cash. I don't agree with it at all. It wouldn't be so bad if the Iri Shards were easily earned, but you have to literally grind for days, or weeks to earn a decent amount.

It was just a band aid for their lack luster ‘event’ that went over like a turd in a punch bowl.

^ This. For god's sake, people, this. Just because a company offers you something more than what it was before doesn't make it good. "Better" does not equal "good."
BHVR is a business, not a charity. Doing events, rewarding players, keeping their playerbase happy, that's what game companies do to retain players. It's not charity, it's good business. If people who spent/spend money on this game are unhappy, they can and should speak up. If you tell paying customers who are unhappy to just "be happy with what you get," they will no longer be customers.
Last year, BHVR did less for Halloween than they did in 2018. This year, they're doing even less than what they did last year, and their "olive branch" is still less than what they did last year.
You can't expect long-time players to be happy when they get less and less from a product.

dude i with you on this but what I'm getting at they could of done nothing let the game die grab the money they got and run tho this was small damage control very small
right now all I want is easier way to get that stream charm so I can stop watching streamer and play the dam game.

Too bad I spent some of my shards before they reduced prices. Maybe that's what they intended.
2 -
Reading this and some of the comments lets me remember why i dislike this community and left in the first place
1 -
I suppose it's because if you choose to not spend the shards on the cosmetics (Like I'm not doing) You could just buy a DLC character for free instead of actually paying for it. I'm gonna save these shards for the next chapter so I won't have to pay.
3 -
And this is the attitude that let this "event" happen in the first place
9 -
They heard the complaints and gave us iri shards. I'm pretty happy, because you don't need to spend them on the event skins. It's free real estate bois and gurls.
2 -
dude if we could do more go for it I mean for what they have done they also bad word people over who buy the outfits before they got to be 9k I mean they still not getting any money for me.
I happy they did something was it enough no it was but they f up and right now not much they can do
but refund for tho who spent more for tho outfits be good but I know it still wont be enough right now most want blood which I don't blame them.
no one got control over this event other then the dev we didn't think they really do this but it over all we can do now hope they don't doing it again but knowing them they will we wont know till it happens.

excuse me for not being happy with them given some shards and BP in lieu of a non-event.
This isn't a new thing with them btw, between Sets, previous events etc. the money moves have always been a problem with this game
3 -
they gave 13k shards just play a bit more during the event?
0 -
They only gave us 10k shards, which can only be spent on this years Halloween skins. The previous halloween skins are still only available for auric cells.
3 -
it a problem in most games but I'm with you on this but other then we can do is not buying anything with real money which what I'm doing
1 -
Yep. Only Bootlickers think this is an acceptable apology.
5 -
good enough for me

Uhm no they did this as a "oh ######### they are really mad we didn't give them a chance to get free skins this year what can we do?" response
0 -
yes and they didn't think of the consequences for changing the pricing of the outfits people paid full price in auric cells or shards for which are not being refunded. This is what really upsets me more than anything, knowing i have to eat the loss on shard because they decided to change the prices to band-aid a problem.
5 -
Yeah it's kind of a lackluster response to an already lackluster event. The bp is literally nothing not even a single webs worth. We got 2 free outfits last year now it's only one. I guess they want you to grind the other one but shards take so long to get I'm not sure most players will get another in time unless they already had a good amount saved. Better than nothing but still pretty mediocre.

And kids, here is the reason why you have to use punctuation marks.

BHVR is desperately trying to get some heat off their backs. That's what this entire thing reeks off. Desperation.
I won't forget what they did. No matter what they do. And I hope a lot more players won't either.

They must've known the community would be upset and they'd have to make changes. They must have. There's no way anyone could be blindsided by the backlash considering the large amount of nothing this event brings to the table. If you look at what other real video games do for Halloween, what DbD is doing doesn't even register as an event. What DbD is doing is more like something you'd see in a mobile game like Love Nikki, which is absolutely unacceptable for a paid PC/console game.
But even if the devs only ever play dress-up-doll mobile games and have never seen any other video game ever, they had enough complaints in 2018 to go from one earnable cosmetic set to two earnable cosmetic sets, so there was no way players were going to celebrate pumpkin generators with zero earnable cosmetic sets and a batch of 21k-shards/auric-cell-only outfits. Everything about what's going on was absolutely foreseeable, no crystal ball or mind-reading powers required, so why was any of it allowed to happen?
The decisions they've made suggest they value the happiness of the people who are iffy about buying their product over the happiness of the loyal customers who purchased cosmetics on day one. It's a really poor stance to take, because their band-aid solution isn't changing the mindset of someone like me who already stopped enthusiastically jumping on the chance to pay into their game. However, going by the response from you and many other forum members, it is affecting you... negatively. There are a lot of loyal players (customers) who no longer feel that BHVR values their time and money.
It's not like this is the first time I've seen video games do something like this—rewarding the people who didn't buy their DLC right after its release, rewarding new players but not the long-time players—and each time it leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. Feeling unappreciated or betrayed is something people don't forget.

ok
why I said this danage control bad damage control tho.
they were not thinking when they did it.

I'm not buying anything from the store until they start doing celebratory events like they used to... and you should to.
The last good event they had was 4th year, we got free skins for logging in and tons of cakes(streamers).
This is how events should be. Hell, I've gotten more from the overwatch event than this one.
I also lost a considerable amount of shards bc of the changes, but... i expected nothing less...
