If Behavior is going to add new survivors and killers in the future.....
Basically, we need to address the fact that eventually Behavior will need remove or reform the perk rarity/ranking system. Veteran to less experienced players at some point understand the pain of trying to get the right perks on specific characters, especially for killers. Currently, there are about 68 individual perks for survivor alone and 66 perks for killer. However, since there are three distinct rarities for each perk, there are actually 204 survivor perks and 198 killer perks. While all will not be available at once it doesn’t change the fact that your chances of getting a specific perk does not change very much after every perk purchase. How do you feel about this? Do you agree or no? Why?
PS: Thank you for any consideration and responses!

The tiers are basically only there to make you grind longer. They're terrible. Frankly you shouldn't need to level at all to get perks. Once you unlock a teachable, it should just straight up be available on all your other characters.
They could still have you do plenty of bloodweb grinding without making the perk system a busted, messy joke. I don't see why we need grinding in a horror-themed game like DBD to begin with, but BHVR seems 12,000% onboard for whatever new ######### trend is going around to maximize player retention at the cost of playability or enjoyment, so don't expect any changes.

Fair enough. I also think that there shouldn’t be perk levels. Especially, if at one point there might be 75+ perks in the game while your level cap is 50, meaning spending time at level 50 just refreshing it over and over to get what you want. Honestly, that’s how it is now too.

Id be happy if all they did was remove tier 1. It would cut the grind by a third. 146 survivor perks is still alot but much more managable.
That would be 143 webs. Per character.

Excellent suggestion, @csandman1977. I think that's where they should start. It's absolutely ridiculous how long this grind is, especially if you're a completionist. Honestly, sometimes it feels like the trials are just a mini-game that you've gotta play in order to "play" the bloodweb. It's crazy the lengths players will go to to get the loot. I think that's the point though; like @Xbob42 said: to "maximize player retention..." in whatever way possible. This is why I only have a handful of maxed out characters. This makes playing new characters (especially Killers) very challenging. Sure, I can play (almost perkless) Spirit or Nurse and do okay but I know it's just handicapping myself.
Which reminds me... BRB, I gotta go grind some perks.

Even if they reduced 1 tier from perks, thats still 97 bloodwebs at level 50. And at roughly ~60000 points a web that is still 5,820,000 blooodpoints

The perk grinding system is greatly outdated. It used to work when there were 7 playable characters but now there's just too many.
