What am I suposed to do while slugged in the floor and the killer slugging for the 4k???

Just had a last game of the day with my second and we got into a match in lery's against an oni who slugged me for the 4k without even knowing where the last guy was. I went to pee and feed my dog in the meantime and not even half of my bar was off.

In normal circumstances I would DC but I guess punishing players for not waiting 10 minutes without being able to do anything is very healthy for the game.

The best part was when we later arrived the stream of the killer, who only made fun of our english grammar and got so salty against us when we just asked why slugging for so much time was even fun for him, ending on banning us and his chat calling us toxic survivors and that I should have just not got down (?????)

Edit: is funny how you can report survivors if they hide so much that you cant find them when not repairing, but you cant report killers for making you waste 10 minutes unable to do anything because they dont want you to die too soon.

    Well, crawl around.

Also the difference in your edit it, it's 4 minutes to bleed out vs survivors hiding for an hour.

I check my phone when I'm slugged, sometimes I watch VODs or random youtube videos.

exaggerating or not 4 minutes is so long still unable to do anything. that's 240 seconds, a gen is just 80 and is boring already

I dont care about points just kill me faster so I can just g to another match and get away from here where I'm not even playing

I launched DBD to repair gens and loop around not to sit doing anything else

I will give you an honest answer then, crawl around for your teammate to pick you up or run soul guard and unbreakable if the killer has a hex totem then you are on a better position and let's not forget that Ruin + undying is meta now so it is more common for you to use a build like that.

And now my sarcastic tip of the day, don't get slug 4head!!!

Oh btw, trust me before hatch was given to the survivor when they had to do 2 gens in order to get hatch, there were a lot of survivors taking the game hostage, taking it from 30 min to like 1 hour, you can wait 4 min to get bleed out, but I don't think you would've liked waiting for 1 hour for them to never dc or you dc'ing.

Fun thing, the only way a killer can take the game hostage now is if he body blocks you and you can't move/do your objectives when you are the last one alive.

This is why hatch needs to be reworked. The reality is, if killers care, they just slug and go for the 4k and everyone left in the game has a bad time. 1 guy on the ground bleeding for 4 minutes. 1 guy hiding from the killer. 1 killer running around doing nothing looking for a survivor hiding. It's boring.

I do agree with you there, being slugged is boring. Personally I'd be for, when the game is down to two survivors, having the death timers move two or three times as quickly. That way it would force either the killer to hook within one or two minutes or force the other survivor to try for a rescue in that time.

  • Kees_T
    Kees_T Member Posts: 811

While the option to accelerate your bleedout timer is not implemented, you can only accept it.

Both sides have bad moments like these. I don't know your main role, but as a person who only has 2k200 of hours on DBD, I played a lot of Killer and Survivor, and I understand both sides, I don't get mad at it because I would be hypocritic since I had slugged a lot of survivors in the past and had been slugged by other Killers aswell.

Don't blame the Killer, blame the game for allowing such thing to be allowed.

ideas simple like this would make the game 100 times more fun, ofc they dont listen to our feedback and they'll just go straight up nerfing perks, get a map cooler than before and call it a day.

I have the exact same hours and play the same for both sides, but in my poosition if I have no sinlge clue to help me where the last one is I just hook the 3rd guy, and if 4th gets hatch well gg I didnt get thse last 700 points ok, I pipped and got a lot of points already don't need to make this longer for almost nothing of value

Yes, I do the same thing as you, I don't like to extend matchs too much. But lets be honest, you probably have made a lot of victims by slugging survivor in the past for the 4k glory. Every player that has the real 50/50 for both sides have done that.

Then equip adrenaline. If the killer is camping you while downed, every other person can finish three gens each. Then you'll pop back up and can run. EZPZ

If the killer isn't camping you, then there's no problem. Equip Unbreakable, and there you go. Free escape.

    just disconnect

edit: I would dc, although it isn't 10 minutes to bleed out, most people don't give a damn if you like the game or not as you can tell by the comments. The game is already dying (check the steam charts of how many players they loss this month).

BHVR definitely don't know anything, but the milking players for money. Anyone who actually defends them are literal clowns who are either getting played and don't realize it, or they just won't accept it

Don't forget regretting not taking unbreakable.

Beiing slugged for 4 min sucks but isn't holding game hostage since you have hard set amount of time you wait that isn't even that long. If survivors decide to perma hide you can wait extremely long times until you find them (if even) when they're good at hiding. I've had a game with 3 survivors holding the game hostage and before I managed to find and kill 2 of them it took almost 90 min (I know I'm crazy but I really hate dcing and didn't want to give them the pleasure of making me quite).

Slugging is nothing compared to real holding the game hostage so there's no comparison between viable strategy and griefing like holding the game hostage with permanent hiding. If you really hate it and your dc timer is lower then 4min the go for a dc otherwise you just need to suck it up.

    This.

Hatch mechanic right now is basically 2 coinflips - 1st coinflip is a hatch spawn and the second coinflip (if 1st one fails to favour survivor) is the exit gates spawn. It involves very little skill or interaction between killer and survivor and it also requires not much effort from survivor to escape - get lucky to find the hatch or get lucky to get good exit gate spawn to then just wait for killer to check your gate and leave for the other. It's just dumb.

Would've been 100x better if when there's last survivor remaining and no gens were done, EGC instantly activates, exit gates start opening on their own within ~80% time of EGC progress and both survivor and killer see each other's position revealed if they aren't in a chase. Some pallets could even be restored for the last and final chase.

Should he really though? Against a oni? Or (insert any killer with wallhacks) I'm the guy that didn't fall for the bait. If I've seen nurses with distortion or spine chill, big surprise I didn't fall for that bait either.

Let me ask you, are you a hacker then? Because if your death timer is 10 minutes long, something is way of. So either you are not telling the truth, and all of your story has to be doubted, or something else happened you are not telling us.

You die on the ground in 4 minutes, not 10. Yes it's annoying and i think survivor should have option to end the game faster than that. But it is what it is. I personally just go to my desktop to do something useful while the killer sweats for his 4k. If you want to be really annoying you can DC so the last survivor has chance to get the hatch.

Some people are just turds who have too much time on their hands.

I remember one time being matched against a Billy who slugged me and my teammates at 5 gens. He knew for certain where I was since I was the last one to get downed. Instead of picking me up he chainsaws away. To add more salt to the wound, the first person who get downed disconnected, so moving on to the next match took longer because the killer just so happened to be in that mood.

Like someone else said, it sucks but there's no way to fix this without breaking the balance of the game. Just another design flaw you gotta put up with.

    Run unbreakable?

    Bleed out?

It sucks but let's not act like you're a victim here. Slugging is a legit strategy to get kills. Sure, no one gets much out of it but it's still legitimate.

Also, you literally went to the streamers stream with your friend. We all know why.

I don't feel bad for anyone here.

What am I supposed to do when 4 survivors are sitting around teabagging outside the exit gates?

Lose, that's what. You lost. It sucks. It can be boring. That's how it goes.

If you want to be self sufficient then Unbreakable is a perk you can use

And not wanting to work with your teammates is all on you

That Oni felt like getting the 4I

Same as many other survivors who will throw themselves at the hooked survivor to get 4e rather then accepting 1 death

  • Xbob42
    Xbob42 Member Posts: 1,117

I mean, if by "play" you mean "attempt to complete my objectives," then no, absolutely not. I can force them out... unless they decide to get cheeky and hide or split up just to waste more time. I guess theoretically I could maybe find one of them in that scenario, but even then, unless you're on an instadown killer they'll just use the speed boost to run out the door while teabagging more.

I want to mention: it does not take 10 minutes to bleed out. It's 4 minutes. If you were gone and it took 10 minutes to bleed out in actuality, that means the other survivor has picked you up while you were gone.

I know it is tedious and it can be tiring, but it is a part of the game. It's why there are specific perks designed to work against it or work for slugging (e.g. Unbreakable/Deerstalker). It can be a valid tactic for many situations, but it is not a reason for leaving a game. Leaving the game is intended for emergencies only. There have been several suggestions by people before how to possibly make slugging better and less tedious. I do think there needs to be done something slightly to make it less tedious and a better experience, but it is a part of the game and not something to DC against.

About your last sentence: You can only report that if the intention is to not finish the game. It requires proof for this. You won't be banned for hiding here and there - this rule only counts if the objective is not being done at all, especially if the killer is just standing around somewhere. The intention is very clear here then.

Just go on a slug adventure, discover the world under a new perspective !

Take your time to chose what hook you want to be hung onto.

I'd say something about it being on you for only doing 1 gen before or maybe even after 2 k happened, but I guess on the map you were on, if you were hurt with no medkit / self care, not like Oni would have a hard time zooming around and tracking you.

Great idea, less time to wait when I don't give a heck about my team mate and wait for the hatch to spawn. Makes it better for me to be even worse of a team mate and makes being selfish more rewarding for the person NOT being slugged.

There's 2 side to a coin, wether you like it or not, your idea encourage people to be more selfish as much as people to care. And anyone with a working brain that has the choice to escape and get more points or risk being down for no gain will chose the former.

It's annoying but you can't really fix it without messing more stuff up down the pipeline.

Even though I personally don't consider it fun people have the right a to slug for the 4K if they so choose.

You can't really take it away effectively without making it overly abusable.

As I said as a Band-Aid fix you could give The Killers some bonus bloodpoints and emblem scores for forcing a Hatch escape this could probably somewhat reduce the amount of slugging for the 4K you might seem.

As you won't need to slug for achievements or challenges anymore.

    For example

If the last person on the map uses the Hatch the killer gets a scoring event called force escape it will reward slightly less bloodpoints sacrifice but awards the same emblem score.

This way going for adept achievements or archives challenges doesn't require you to slug and the people who like bloodpoints get an extra little incentive

Why is the killer "sweating" for his 4k? I get it if they just slug everyone from the start but this is clearly last gen or two and the killer just wants to win. Thatd be like saying if the gates are open with 4 survivors about to leave one should stay behind and die because they are sweating for a 4escape

  • Ecstasy

Every other sentence is a whirlwind of #########.

Slugging can sure be annoying for sure, but are you really complaining about an endgame slug to try and find the last survivor? Seems incredibly obvious. Remember that hatch thing? It's also a gamble typically: maybe it ends up in the 4K, but it risks 2 people making it out alive instead of just one... and could damn near guarantee that one will get out. When they're camping the downed party, that's a lot more time (and much safer) hunting down the hatch.

This attitude is exactly why the DC punishment should never go away. That's not okay.

And who is "we" by the way? I'm inferring that you're also playing in SWF.... wait, was your friend the last survivor here too? Because if they could tell by your play style that you're SWF, then no wonder they camped. That's usually a guarantee the bait works, and if not then chances are that one of you will have seen hatch already anyhow.

I'm gonna take a guess: you use voice-communication too, right? That doesn't change these points here, but I just love reminding people how totally fun and fair it is when the other players get to effectively cheat with unlimited/instant communication in a game where players can't even type messages to each other normally....

You are still salty about it now so I don't know why you're pretending you're not. It's also creepy that you followed him out of the game at all, and that question is clearly just pretext for whatever confrontation you intended. Don't do that, man. Just... don't. (PS: Also maybe double check your grammar in any sentence about someone insulting your grammar.)

There's a huge difference between waiting a fixed time and holding the game hostage (and that's by NOT repairing, only hiding endlessly). The former is more like having to wait for people who won't leave the exit gates during EGC. You just accept it an wait because that's part of playing the game.

You don't DC because you've got to wait out the EGC, and you don't DC because of slugs. Hell you don't DC because of SWF using VC even though that's effectively cheating given the game's design and super prone to the sort of toxicity that renders the whole damn match a miserable slog.

My bf plays in a different platform and we cany use any comunication. Neither vc or text, you need both hands to play.

My attitude is "I play dbd to be able to play not to sit waiting on other players to decide my fate sooner or later when I'm not able to do anything, no I dont want tl bring u breakable every match because it doesn't happen every single match but when it does is really frustrating.

About my english, is matter of knowledge, not of checking it, I'm not english.

And ofc I'm quite salty about it, not even pretenging anything, as I said, I came to the streamer's channel as he promoted it on his own name to ask him why he has to ruin our last match in an unfun way for everyone. But of course, it's not a survivor streamer like people usually hate.
