Would you like to see offerings for the survs that allow to not to play against a specific killer?

Due to the player can't switch a killer to another killer while the game is searching the match, I think that this new type of offerings will help to decrease amount of DCing people because when I'm playing as the killers like PH, Spirit, Freddy e.t.c. some people instanly DC after the fact that they understood what the killer they're playing against.

I have a friend that doing the same thing versus Freddy. And he's not a bad guy but yeah... He just don't want to play against him because he thinks that playing versus him is boring for him.

A lot of ppl have the same "preferences". Why we can't add something for em?

For me, I'm playing with all killers and as a survivor too and I'm like to play against every killer. But when someone dcing at the start of the match I feel bad we have to play without him and it's a really game breaking thing. And it's simply unfun to play the games like it for everyone.

"How it will work?" well,

1) before the surv pressed "search a game" he takes this offering

2) press "search a game"

3) In the lobby the surv can't interact with offerings settings, It's locked (Like in KYF mode if the host disable to use offerings)

4) If the each survivor take the same offering we get 4 banned killers (for example: 1st surv took the offering versus Freddy, 2nd vs Spirit, 3rd vs Nurse and the last one vs PH)

Question: Is the SWF party can abuse it?

Answer: yes, kinda. They can use these offerings to avoid the strongest killers

But what if ONLY 1 this offering will work? ( For example: 1 dude use this offering to not to play againsе Spirit, the 2nd one use against Bubba and another use against Bubba too, so the game takes the offering vs Bubba because 2 offerings>1offering). If we have a situation when 2 players use this offerings against different killers the game chooses 1 randomly. The offering that wasn't been chosen by the game returns to the player offerings' list after the match.

Question: Is it abusable anymore?

Answer: No

Q: What if the player that the game didn't take his offering to it. Would he play for 100% versus the killer that he took the offering for not to play against this killer?

A: I think no and he prefers to leave the match.

The rarity of the offerings should be common or uncommon at least cause that everyone can have it a lot for some specific killers that they dislike to play against (Overall we will have 21 offerings at the moment)

What do you think about? I know, this Idea can be stupid in something but I'm really tired to have the matches when 1 guy is insta-dcing because he doesn't like to play against specific killer. And I don't see that these offerings will breake the game balance & experience (If 4 ppl can't ban 4 different killers but it can be legit too).

But ppl can just suicide on the hook too... It reminds me those days when the devs enabled DC penalty system at the first time and a lot of ppl just dying on the hook in 15 seconds.

I agree with you that it's their problem but if 1 dude insta-leave at the first minute of the matche others can have an unfun game experience because he left 3 members of the team ( even the fact that someone left makes me & a lot of ppl sad and gives us unpleasent game experience sometimes.

It's really frustrating sometimes that 1 person left the match at the start and you can only deal with that. And nowadays it's not a rare (I'm playing on Red ranks on both roles and I facing this situation often)

I understood that adding this offering is not good but I really want to see something that allow to reduce amount of DCing people as soon as possible.

@Woodywool I appreciate your attempt to address the DC epidemic. This just seems not to be the way imo. As soon as the DEVs have figured out a way to protect their game from excessive cheating and hacking the DC penalty will be back I reckon.

If and when that happens I´d like to see something done about hook suicides too.

    @x_kookie_cookie_x

I met afk people less often than "suicide" guys because everyone wants to play and don't waste own time.

Tbh I thought that a few amount of players will use it... Now I think yeah, for Spirit and Freddy players it will be nightmare for waiting the match (but who knows, maybe it can take not a lot of time)... Idk for me the queue timer is really stable (at rad ranks)

Between 23:00 - 04:00 (GMT +3) the game instanly finds the macth as the killer. As the surv I need to wait about 3-5 mins

Between 07:00 - 17:00 (GMT +3) the game instanly finds the match as the survivor. As the killer I need to wait about 5-8 mins

In another time I need to wait 1 minute as min. for both roles.

By the way, now killers can use "Sacrificial ward" offering that rejecting all map offerings. Yes, it's kinda rare but still... Now killers can avoid some maps by using it... Even (back to the main discussion) if they banned 4 killers like PH, Freddy, Spirit and a Nurse and they took Ormond's offering they can play vs Billy, Hag, Blight e.t.c. Tbf, nowadays the game has more unfair advantages than it. 1 Year ago when I didn't play a game almost 3-4 months because my prev laptop was broken and I need to buy a new one.... Or it was 2 years ago when I had the prev laptop LOL I had an yellow ranks for both roles. And I met a lot of SWF smurfs like if I'm playing at red ranks I'll gain numbers of those players as after playing 3 months (on red ranks) as I played almost 2-3 weeks on Yellow/Green/Purple ranks.

I don't think it's a stupid idea. Personally, I would really like to not have Deathslinger in my game, and it would likely cut down on DCs as you say.

The problem I see is that people playing killer also have the right to expect that they're going to get the play the character they bought. If you allow people to opt out of playing with them, their queue time and potentially their matchmaking gets worse because of someone else's choice -- not theirs.

I see where you're coming from, but I'd prefer they work on killers like Freddy to make them more fun to play against. It wouldn't be great to be a Freddy main and be struggling to find matches because lots of people are using this offering.

I also like being able to queue up and then change my loadout while I wait because survivor queues have been longer for me lately than killer queues.

That would just push the child mentality in this game even more. We already have rage quitting survivors back and forth for no real reasons. I don't think it is a good idea to support these kinds of attitudes. People need to accept that there are games that don't play out the way they want them to. You can't just skip everything that you don't like. That's not how life works. And you don't learn anything from it. People who DC against certain types of killers will never improve in the game.

Everyone is responsible for their own fun in the end. Yes, a camping bubba isn't fun but instead of raging just accept it and move on. There will be other games. But if your fun is so dependant on the behaviours of others then it's better to stop playing Multiplayer games all together.

I feel instead of having people pick the killer you should adjust killers,Freddie shouldn't be able to trap everything especially gates end game, trapper shouldn't be able to use traps all game long, legion and allot killers including Billy should only be able to use their special attacks 45 to 60 secs like survivor's I've seen plenty of legions spam their attack, down and slug survivors until all the players bleed out without any hooks, doctor shouldn't be able to shock almost the whole entire map I've seen doctors hook camp and shock people coming for saves these are some of the things that make people rage quit I've played over ten games today and about eight games someone raged quit

IMO we'll see (If even we see some changes for Freddy) like after a year as minimum. Yeah, devs are starting to balance game stuffs slightly faster but the game has a lot of "Unbalance things" like keys, moris, some killers (Clown for example), some addons and RNG maps (In one game you can have 7-8 pallets but in another one you can have 14. ScottJund's talking about this problem yesterday) e.t.c

What about "fun to play againt" ? It's a really specific personal opinion that a player have a posstitve game exp. playing versus some/all killers.

Somebody doesn't like to play against stealthy killers (Especially on Closed maps). 2-3 days ago I had a game as GF (GhostFace) on Hawkin's. And when I downed 1 marked guy, 3 of them dced in 1 minute. One of em said in a loby like: "Sorry man but it's not funny to play"

Some ppl don't like to be very focused entire game, They prefer to have a few seconds to be prepaired (hiding or going to good position) and mostly prefer to chill.

Somebody doesn't like killers that are good in chases like Spirit, Deathslinger e.t.c. I played against a lot of players and nowadays if a person was downed so fast (in 10 seconds, especially in the 1st minute of the game) he with 30% probably dc. Some players don't know how the killer really works like don't know like what the speed & duration Spirit's ability has or what the moment that the Deathslinger probably shots to the surv and his range of the ability in-game or that he easily sneaks up to the survs cause his TR music is quieter than others

I played a lot of games on Deathslinger & understand when he will shot me for sure and I start to dodge a little bit early than I'll see that he's aiming and it really helps me. ngl I have some moments when some Deathslinger players said to me in post game chat: "how you dodging my shots? You even don't look behind". But I didn't to this trick if I didin't play on him a lot in some time.

I had some problems to play agianst the Nurse. Most of the time I got downed by her very fast and then I caught myself thinking that I ran to her when she's charging her blink to avoid the hit and the chase wasn't long for me lol. I mostly screwed up myself by this move instead of dumb running forward. But after that I played as her some couple of games I understood how's her ability works more correctly and can easily predict her move or what the addons Nurse is using by watching blink's time & range.

But Now I really think that I need to play as the Spirit & PH more than I played as now because when I'm playing against her I have the same issue. What about PH? I still can't play more correctly in loops vs him.

Why I typed this all? Because I want to say that we need to spend a lot of time to figure out in these things or need to refresh our memory too.

It is not the game that we have in 2016 that we know:

    • Oh, that guy is very fast with his chainsaw. I need to avoid him in opened zones
    • this guy hasn't TR while cloaked and I barely can see him. I need to be more focused and be prepaired when he comes to me.
    • This boy has bear traps. I really need to avoid the grass or running to the loop where for 100% he didn't set the trap

Nowadays we have 21 killers. And for new players and for the people that don't spending a lot of time in this game, they can't to play against versus all killers very well. Because it needs A LOT of time to understand than before.

Yeah, life doesn't work like this... But what the point of the computer games? It's a "distraction" that allows people to forget about real world for some time and be a part of something new & have freindly feelings about it. We have a lot of game ganres that can be sweet for every person (gamer). We easily can't like some stuffs that, however, a lot of ppl can really like it.

After days of thinking about this offering I'm starting to think again that it will help to imrove the game experience.

It's my personal opinion and result of my analysis. Even that I got a huge & great feedback that have really good opinions about it and strong effects that can damage to the current game but, really... I really think that it will bring a possitive moment to the game & the opinion that if you don't like to play against a specific killer and don't want to spend a lot of time to understand "how the most effective I need to play against him" you can just take this offering and have fun. Like I said before, we have 21 killers at the moment and a few amount of players from entire playerbase can play very well against all of em. But yeah otherwise we don't mind to play against them too but some ppl aren't.

Even if the person didn't take this offering and play against the killer that he really doesn't like to play against he will probably know that he can just take this offering and avoid this situation. He can to do something with it and prevent his personal "unfun" moments but also don't doing something that affects to other players experience in a bad way.

For me and (for sure) a lot of ppl will not use this offerings because they don't mind to play against any killer.

Yes, we also can have a lot of people that will use it too but we have a lot of killers that create opinions about "Which killer is the most not fun to play against?" And these opinions are different! One group of ppl thinks that Deathslinger is too strong, some ppl can disagree. Also we have the opinion that almost everyone agreed (even devs) about some problems. And after some time we have some changes to prevent this problem. But we still have some not popular opinions about balance & experience that this group of ppl will suffer. We are all humans and we are unique of each other.

I understand that this offering is probably not will be in the game... But waiting for some changes (that can be released after some years) and haven't some resources that a player can affect even slightly to imrove HIS game experience and don't ruin other's too, these group of ppl feels really uncomfortable for now. And instead of working just giving something that allow to ppl avoid some unpleasant specific moments or just increase the result of balancing the game stuffs very hard and start to work with "fogwhispers" at least and get a huge feedback like Otzdarva did, we get updates each 1.5 months that changing something or a few things are 30-50% from every update is not good (if we take a general opinion) and still have the problems that needs to be fixed but we get some tweaks (if we get) in the next 1.5 months.

My point of this discussion is that try to create something that give to people some resources to allow and improve their game experience and not affect to other's exp. and also don't ruin others experience too.

IMO it will not bring humangous time of waiting when the game is searching a lobby as the specific killer (beacuse we have a lot of killers that a lot of ppl don't like to play against) and also decrease amount of players that are dcing or suiciding on the hook too.

I think that it's not. I understand that as the killer play against a "tournament survs" is really hard. Also a lot of ppl using voice chat to have some adventages but we also have a lot of people that playing with friends and without voice chat too.

I have a lot of freinds in this game that add me or I invite a freind request and I'm playing with em without voice chat. It's the situations when one person liked how another person is playing and add him/her to play together and have more fun & chances to win.

IMO the problem about SWF is that these ppl are using some very strong (meta) perks that allow them to play more aggressive than it should be. Really good solo survs can play together very well too. And I understand that voice chat eliminates some game mechanics and make it easier.

Okey, if we have this offering that allow to dodge SWF lobbies for sure, almost every killer will use it and make the queue timer MUCH worse for the people that prefer to play with friends.

What about my offering? Like I said before, we have a lot of killers that somebody doesn't like to play against. Even some people will not bring it. And this not affect to queue timer so bad. Maximum, the killer will need to wait extra 30 seconds (IMO).

    I think it's a stupid Idea

You are right. Games are a distraction and something we all want to enjoy. And there are a lot of people who genuinely look forward at the end of their work day to enjoy a Spirit, Freddy, Nurse (you can continue this list if you want) game. If an offering to prevent going against a certain killer would exist, that would take away the fun of the killers mains too because they would have extremely long queues. The only possibility to play this game then would be to switch to a "weaker" killer because survivors will most likely not dodge the killers they can loop around the whole entire map. And this isn't fun for the killler mains. Eventually killers would be all dying out. (And yes. There are a lot of killers that people don't want to play against but you need to take everyones opinion into occasion if you want to improve their game experience. With that being said all four survivors would throw four individual offerings and all of them would count. So the four most hated killers are already out of the game. And people have very similar opinions about the killers they don't like. If we would apply this scenario to a SWF that wants to win, they would make sure to take out the four most strongest killers and only weaker killers would be able to play against them. Killers would then never switch to the weaker killers because they know that they would get bullied into the ground)

You said it: we have 21 killers because everyone enjoys something different. That goes not only for the survivor side. And there are killers that are played more than others because they can keep up with the current game meta. If the meta will change, the killers will change too. It doesn't work the other way around though. Nerfing killers, nerfing killer perks or completely erasing certain killers from the game will lead to a dead killer playerbase. (And yes, implementing an option to dodge certain killers is equal to erasing them because let's be real: most survivors would prefer a Pig game over a Spirit game)

So I would suggest: if a game has things that you don't like then don't play it. It's very simple. No one is forcing people to play DBD and play against killers they find too "OP" for whatever reasons.

The unpredictability of this game is what makes it interesting. Not having control over what kind of killer you might be getting, how your teammates will be playing and how the game will turn out is what makes DBD interesting. Each choice of each indivual player will affect the outcome and that also includes unpleasant scenarious. But instead of having a " I DC if I don't like it" mentality why not turn that mentality into a "I will try to improve and do the best I can" mentality?

I can even speak from my own experiences. I play a lot of different killers. I play strong killers and weaker killers and I enjoy all of them. But unfortunately, since the DC penality is not activated anymore, there are a lot of survivors who DC. Not because of the killers I play. It only takes one hit, a quick chase, outplaying someone or finding someone too quickly. Sometimes they even DC to not give me PGTW. There are endless reasons why people are DC'ing and giving survivors the option to dodge killers won't prevent that because in the end it all comes down to one thing: They think this is a 1vs1 game and if the game doesn't get their way they rage quit. It doesn't matter if it is a Spirit that outplayed them or a Clown. They have the mentality, so they will DC. That's why I said that it's a bad idea to support babies because they are babies. They have never learned to lose and they will probably never learn it. If they see the game the wrong way, then that's their problem. It's a 1 vs 4 game and it revolves around teamplay and not a "I can loop this killer for 5 gens alone" game. But that's fun for survivors, right? Feeling superior, long chases where the killer can only get them with good mindgames and good game knowledge. Well...long chases are great but sadly the game isn't balanced for that.

It's not a solution to support a mentality problem, or to make it more specific: a negative focus problem.

I have a friend who can't play DBD without complaining at least once every single game because he is giving is full attention to all the flaws this game is having. He played very actively in the start but he stopped a few months ago. He was purposely making the game unfun for himself and he wasn't even aware of it. But his case is also not the fault of the game or the devs for having bad game design, questionable hit boxes and camping killers. It's completely up to him.

Don't get me wrong. There are things that needs to be changed and things that are frustrating in this game but there are also things that are only based on indivual opinions. Not wanting to play against certain killers is an opinion, a mentality, but not something that needs to be addressed. No killer in this game is unbeatable. There is never a reason to DC. Never.

The answer to this problem is actually very simple and it's called "Uninstall" or "Try to improve". There are only two options. Sure, people can cry alot and eventually behaviour will nerf all the killers that can do something against the current gen rush problem but that will have drastic consequences. The game in general needs a rework, that's for sure, but until then we have to accept how the game is.

One thing though: I said that life doesn't work that way. That you can't alway skip things that you don't like. And yes, you can skip everything you want in your free time. You can decide what kind of game you want to play. But the sad reality is that the perfect game doesn't exist. There will be always something that is unfun or not pleasant. It's up to each indiviual how high their tolerance is for unpleasant things until they will lose their interest in a game.

My issue is where would it stop, because if that went through some would then want to have an offering banning certain perks, etc. It could get too carried away.

I do empathise with all those dc's though. A tough penalty on disconnects may work better. Players should not have to compromise their choice of character because someone has a difficult time against them.

I don't think this would be a good idea, because it would increase the waiting times a lot and also survivors should not have the power to choose whose killers they don't want to face, like the killers should not be able to choose what survivors equip, for example. What I got from your post is the problem with people DCing against killers they don't like to play against. Well, that is the survivors fault, not the killer.

Everyone should be able to play as the killer or survivor they want and if a survivor keeps DCing because they don't like certain killers, then maybe the should just stop playing. If my friends started DCing like that I would tell them to stop doing it or stop playing with me, because it would also hinder how the match would go for me. I had a friend that would always DC if he got downed and it was his last hook. I told him to stop, because he could be saved, we could maybe block the killer or those seconds could buy the others time to finish gens and escape. While he resisted, eventually he understood we were right and stopped doing it.

Sure. Your SWF can pick 4 killers you don't wanna play against... just as long as every Killer can opt to decide 4 perks Survivors are not allowed to have when they play against them.

I would happily compromise on this if I never had to worry about DS, DH, UB & BT again.

People saying that the game would instantly die need to chill a bit. A lot of games have a ban system and it works just fine. I do see why it would be a problem for queue times and such, though. But I can't deny it would be nice to be able not to play against the fifth Freddy/Spirit in a row.

I feel like overall the real solution to this would be Behavior actually balancing the weaker killers to make them stronger (and nerfing the strongest a bit, just a bit don't yell at me) so that playing the game wouldn't be an endless loop of facing the same handful of killers over and over again. Killer mains who are actually interested in winning would be able to play whichever killer they like and there would be more variety overall. Introducing killer bans sounds like a uhh... patch-like solution??? to a problem that lies elsewhere (balance).

    Longer queue times.

Giving into childish habits they have.

Messing up dev results (how many times a killer is picked, killrates, etc)

The list can go on, but you see the point.

(Wouldn't mind having an offering to ONLY avoid Spirit tho..)

See, for me I’d instantly ban Bubba because I’ve never faced one that doesn’t facecamp. Even after his rework that was “supposed to reduce facecamping”. Spirit as well because although you can hear her when she’s invisible and close to you, I feel it’s unfair that she can see exactly where I am when I’m bleeding but I have absolutely no clue where she’s coming from or what side of me she’s on. But, if you’re asking this question, I think that you should think about WHY people want to ban those killers and work on those suggestions rather than just letting people avoid them.
