Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Camaraderie should be a base game feature

Yes this is another thread about campers & camping. I’m not sure why but ever since the new rift came out I’ve been seeing an upsurge in campers. The obvious problem with camping is that the killer gets so much out of it by sitting near a hook doing nothing. Now, the typical response people will tell you is: “Just do gens if the killer is facecamping”, “the killer will only get 1 kill and he’ll likely lose” or something among those lines. That’s not Entirely true, I’m not saying it’s not true but it depends on what killer it is and WHEN they decide to start face camping. For example, I had a match the other night in solo que and the killer was Freddy on Mother’s Dwelling. We had a good long chase and it costed him a couple of gens so he leaves me... and then he downs one of my teammates and decides to put her in basement and stand at the top of the steps. At this point I think 2 gens still needed to be completed and since there’s no communication in solo que, we all met at basement and from their it was hook trades and no one had borrowed time. Because I was the only one with ds, he was going to get a guaranteed kill no matter what on the other survivors.I feel like camaraderie is a great perk to counter camping hell, it’s even used in tourneys. But I feel like at least for 4 solo que players it should be a base feature to punish the killer.

TLDR; Camping may seem like the killer gets little to nothing out of it when they really do especially if they do it early game. Camaraderie should be a feature for solo que players for killers that decide to play like this especially one shot killers.

Was actually having a discussion about this with a friend the other night, i feel it should work how the emblem works. If there's survivors around the hooked survivor it goes down normal rate if the killers close. If the killers close and no survivors are near it goes does at half the speed. I've recently started playing a bit of survivor again since the update and man the amount of campy bois i run into is astounding.

Yeah I agree with you lots of camping and tunneling recent and I understand that killers lose points if they’re near the hook not patrolling gens but there should at least be a slowdown to the survivors hook bar. In 1st phase and struggle in that situation.

i did say that they the person on hook should have their hook time slowed if the killers near without other survivors near.

    It's an idea.

Camraderie is way too powerful to be baseline. Two people can do a gen and rescue into Adrenaline during second state when Camraderie is in play. It's a perk that takes coordination to use, but it's an extremely effective perk.
