Whilst I appreciate the sentiment on this thread, I'm sorry but the information I have is that there
"Whilst I appreciate the sentiment on this thread, I'm sorry but the information I have is that there are no refunds as per our EULA, any item purchased can go on sale at any time." (C) one of the mods, no offence, but I really hope you don't think this is something normal and you just have no other choice but to copypaste this.
I'm not going to say how the event sucks or that we should do the only thing we can do to make devs actually listen, since I'd get banned for that (like some guy with 1951 post if I recall correctly). I'll just say that I'm disappointed.
I'm disappointed with how devs were thinking we wouldn't notice the event is a cashgrab.
I'm disappointed with how poorly the "solution" was implement, with WHAT the solution was. Out of all things that could be done, you chose this. You could've given out people 21k shards so they could get 1 skin, but ANY skin they would like. Nobody would complain. You could've prolonged the event and returned pustula flowers harversting. You could've done it like last year and freaking tie it to rift tiers or make flower challenges award people with 1-2 putrid serum so that after doing 3 challenges people could buy 1-2 skins.
I'm disappointed that devs and mods are saying people who got ######### over by BHVR's poor decision "we're sorry, but ######### you". Imagine spending ~80 hours of your life to earn 21k shards, then spend them only to see how 75% of them were basically wasted for nothing, because BHVR decided it'll be a good idea to make an ENORMOUS shard discount literally 2 days after skins were released. What'll happen next? You'll do the same with auric cells recently released skin and then you'll keep covering yourself with EULA? What then? Actual P2W because EULA allows it?
Oh, and felix skin got buyable with shards, even though it was originally accessible only via auric cells. That means some people were technically forced to buy it with AC instead of shards they could've spended and got scammed the other way.
Even steam refunds people if the game they bought was put on a discount, despite the fact people broke the rules of refund like playing more than 2 hours. I repeat,
EVEN STEAM MAKES REFUNDS IN EXCEPTIONAL CASES LIKE 75% DISCOUNT DAY AFTER THE PERSON BOUGHT SOMETHING.
Moreover, IN CASE OF STEAM, THEY DON'T CARE IF THE GAME WAS RELEASED A FEW YEARS BEFORE. and here we got 75% discount on skins released 2 days ago. Then look at BHVR. Nurf-nurf, EULA, we can't help you
I'm disappointed that HALLOWEEN event in a game where HALLOWEEN must be one of the most important things to happen was handed to poorly. What did you make for Eternal Blight event? 7 skins (one of which belongs to paid track of the rift and I'm not including nurse since she was made for the last year technically) Greek legends had more. Thematic hooks and gens....which aren't even by default. 3 custom addons, one of which isn't used by any killer after 1 game with them (it sounded fun on paper, in actual game this is worthless. Could've made something useful honestly like extra BPs for match or simple number changes to power). Survivor both addons are also rarely used, I remember seeing maybe three survivors by now with new addons. AND OH MY GOD, PUSTULA FLOWERS...which we can only harvest three times and then simply forget....What else? I can't remember. New lobby theme maybe. A big disappointment. The only good thing in this event is blight skins honestly, because people who make skins never fail to do their job correctly, huge props to them.
I'm not angry, I'm just disappointed.

I'm technically a new player (this is literally my first event played ever) but how were the other events different? I know they weren't as awful as this but I think that besides themed gens, hooks and skins they shoudl add more things like new mechanics or even a gamemode.

2018 event - pustula harversing & 2 free skins & petals actually affecting the game
2019 event - rift putrid serum (kinda meh, but still 2 free skins).
2020 event - nothing interesting. 1 free skin, but how bad this was delivered..

There were no free skins in 2020 until they panicked and added free Iridescent Shards as login rewards. BHVR fully expected their playerbase to purchase it all, and the Rift.

Yeah, first day it was just a cashgrab..

A moment of silence to those who lost $10 of Auric Cells from buying Felix's Blight skin before it became available for Shards.

Disappointment is my new favorite flavor of candy this Halloween, too!

I once bought a race change in wow, their rules for refunds are generally within 3 days or so.
i requested over a week later, explaining how I really disliked now being undead with issues relating to clipping and personal preference. the GM said that he was going to accept it despite policy stating he shouldn’t as my enjoyment was more valued to him than Blizzard losing a mere $20
this what proper customer support looks like

Oh my god I forgot they did that, I was just focused on the ones that suddenly got a shard discount, but were still payable with shards. Those people literally got scammed out of their money. Holy ######### ######### BHVR...

Literally didn't notice that, kekw.

I agree with the post, because if people didn't complain, what we would get was... well, nothing. They only lowered the amount of shards required to buy the outfits and gave login bonus because people were upset. And that happened last year too. And the year before that. The problem is the devs keep making mistakes, which are not actually mistakes, they make the decisions and then change something when the community rages. I agree that the people who bought those outfits in the first 2 days should be refunded the difference. It's only fair.
