The Discordance nerf is twice as bad because it was unannounced

It's a slight nerf to information and a tiny, rare nerf to the range, but at level 3 it's fine.

However, rank 1 and rank 2 of Discordance are objectively the worst perks in the game. Everyone who was caught stuck with them when the patch dropped and it was suddenly changed are now left with dead perks.

Now, had we been alerted to this change, had we known about this ahead of time, this would've been fine, we would've known leading up to the patch that if we saw Discordance in our blood webs to grab it.

But no, we got no warning, no heads-up, nothing, and now some people have to emergency dump bloodpoints into that killer just to get their favorite build back.

I guess making changes without thinking them through is business as usual around here though.

    how many killer perks do you have unlocked? I'm looking at probably a million BP at least to find it.

    Given BHVR's latest priorities you'd need a crystal ball to predict when they'd change it. It could've been this patch, it could've been a year from now. Who knows.

    I get the need for an adjustable for tier purposes.

    What I don't get is why the third rank isn't "Unlimited" like Empathy. That's what rubs me a little wrong.

    Overall it is pretty minor nerf as it will be working the same in most cases, but why was a minor nerf however small it is needed? Who ever complained about Discordance honestly? I've never seen a single post on here.

    The issue is more the principle that it was nerfed in the first place rather than the actual degree of what the nerf was.

    Discordance 1 isn’t objectively better than 3. At 3 you can accurately time how long until the gen pops based on how many times discordance 3 has gone off. Discordance 1 is just a constant nagging.

    I refuse to call it a nerf cause it really isn't.

    But i do agree that for people who kept it at tier 1 it can take a painfully long time before they can fully level it again. Especially if they don't have all the perks yet and have to rely on rng.

    It was announced, it was in the patch notes. Just upgrade the perk like you do with any other perk. Stop complaining about every single thing.

    This is really a knee-jerk reaction of dbd proportions. I'd hardly call it a nerf. They should just make tier 3 uncapped range or something like 128m and it would be gtg. Even so at 96m, it should proc 99% of the time. The only fringe cases would be if you're on the edge of the map on something like mother's dwelling and a gen directly across is being worked. Even then, as soon as you moved back into the map you'd get a proc immediately.

    It is absolutely a nerf. Your head would have to be screwed on backwards to think of it as anything but a nerf. It went from infinite range to under 100 meters. That's a nerf. Any tangible number is less than infinite, and as such, it was nerfed.

    If it was like 150 meters, then it would still be functionally infinite because that covers basically the entirety of even the big maps. 96 meters does not. You will find yourself, only occasionally but infinitely more than previously, in situations where discordance doesn't pop because you're too far away.

    On a killer like Trapper that might not be a big deal since you might not walk your slow ass down there to begin with even if it did pop, but on high mobility killers they'll be denied info on distant gens.

    So, again, it's a nerf. Stop trying to pretend it's not. A nerf doesn't mean something is rendered unusable or broken, it just means it is less than it was before. And discordance objectively is less than it was.

    In over half the maps the 96m covers everything. And even in the largest maps the only way for the 96m to not cover everything is if you litterally go face a corner of the map and even then it's close.

    The only way discordance is less then before is if you actively try to make it less then before. There is no reason for a killer to ever be 96m away from the gens they're trying to defend. In normal gameplay terms it has not been nerfed.

    I swear the devs are just trying to troll people who don't do math. Why they didn't just say infinite when it in all normal scenario's it bassicly is infinite is beyond me.

    You don't have to go all the way into a corner on the big maps, but yes, you have to go pretty far away, which you might be doing during a chase. But it doesn't matter why. It's a nerf.

    Personally I find the Nerf super unnecessary. Discordance, while annoying at times, isn't that powerful, especially alone. If anything, maybe make NOED the way it used to be (insta down only at tier 3 I think?) or in the middle, insta down at tier 2. To make up for not having an insta down at tier 1, devs could increase the speed you get.

    They could've set the range to unlimited at T3. But no, they has to nerf legion for some reason.

    I used the perk occasionally, but now i probably drop it for whispers anytime.

    I am saying don't bring other perks to the devs attention because they will only ever go one way... nerf.

    It was mostly meant as a joke, but I was half serious too.

    "Whispers" is such a good perk if you know how to utilize the information you get.

    Alright, with the change to 128 meters, the perk is MUCH closer to actually infinite. I believe it will reach clear across almost all maps, I think at this point you'd have to have a map touching a wall in one corner while you're on another corner to actually not get use out of it.

    It's still not infinite, so it's still a nerf, but now it's a very, very tiny nerf.

    96 was nowhere near enough. I had multiple matches yesterday where I didn't get a Discordance proc until I walked a good 15 meters. I could walk back and forth once the aura died and see the exact line. I wasn't up against a wall or anything. So I know in certain cases we'll still be missing out on this info (in this case it was CRITICAL and if I hadn't stepped across the threshold I would not have known to hightail it across the map) but this is much, MUCH better.
