What's Your Build?

Hello everyone!!

I was wondering what everyone's favorite builds are on either side! I main Meg and I use sprint burst, kindred (I only play solo q), self care, and urban evasion! For killer, I main Ghostface and use im all ears, bbq, whispers, and thrilling tremors!

I'm curious about your builds and which perks you can never go without! I'm all ears :)!!

For survivor I’m currently using Iron Will, Spine Chill and Kindred with the 3rd perk changing. I’ve been using Deliverance quite a bit recently as I’m getting sick of being hooked at the end and watching the rest of the survivors sitting in the exit gate waiting for the killer and letting me die on my first hook. I also love Autodidact and Urban Evasion if I’m playing a female character.

For killer, as I currently main Deathslinger I’m using Monitor & Abuse, PGTW, BBQ and A Nurse’s Calling.

This build. Absolutely disgusting and has resulted in some of the fastest 4ks I have ever gotten. The game is probably Bubba's best map, and the close quarters allow you to chain downs with iri flesh extremely fast. There are no strong windows so endfury results in alot of completely uncounterable downs, and purple chili bubba forces pallet drops fast to charge it quickly. Devour hope is just icing on the cake if the team can even make it that far.

You can even drop the 4 man object SWFs quickly if they don't realize what they are dealing with.

    Depends on who I'm playing.

The only character I actually have a completed build on is Nancy. Which is Inner Stregnth, Spine Chill, Kindred and Calm Spirit. I run Calm Spirit because for some unknown reason if I encounter the Doctor its only ever when I play Nancy I usually encounter many of them if I decide to only play Nancy that day.

For survivor I'm currently running the classic locker houdini: detective's hunch, quick and quiet, inner strength, head on. I'm occasionally a big fan of peebles though.

    For killers:

My Blight is currently mixing it up with the Iri blight tag and BBQ, Pop, Discordance, and Tinkerer.

My Bubba is a complete madman who's addicted to blight serum and is running BBQ, Pop, Ruin, Surveillance. That's right! Ruin and Pop in the same build! I TOLD YOU HE'S A MADMAN!

My Legion is feeling a bit mean and is running Ruin, Undying, TOTH, and Tinkerer.

My Doc knows nothing but impossible skill checks: Distressing, Lullaby, Unnerving, and Sloppy Butcher (no Overcharge).

My Freddy is hard memeing and is using BBQ and Overcharge. That's it. No addons.

WOAH!! I faced a Bubba with the serum last week!! He nyoomed over to me when I was the last survivor and I couldn't stop laughing at the animation and the lil 'bwomp' sound he made when he hit the wall!! That doc build already has me screaming, you don't need to shock anyone to find their location with that... *furiously scribbles down notes for when I practice doctor*

Okay so, here are all my current builds for everyone that I play right now (my survivor build is basically identical on everyone):

    Survivor

The medkit lets me heal myself twice, sprint burst is very good, iron will because ######### you spirit, and ds because ######### you tunnelers. Shirtless David because, well- look at him :3

But replace the David with anyone I have P3 50 all perks and it works just as good.

    Wraith

A combination of Windstorm and Swift Hunt helps me uncloak faster, so I can use his SuperLunge at loops easier, and traverse the map easier. PGTW is a great regression perk, BBQ lets me know where to go, Sloppy on Wraith is beautiful for slowing the game, since they want to be healed so your easy first hits don't become easy downs, and Mindbreaker basically kills off Dead Hard and Sprint Burst from a gen. It's really underrated.

    Nurse

Double recharge because, well; it's double recharge. RuinDying because, well, it's RuinDying on a high mobility killer. BBQ helps me know where to go and when, and Shadowborn helps me not throw up as her.

    Bubba

Extra speed add-ons allow me to catch up to people significantly easier and make the chainsaw so much more deadly. Same with extra time per charge. RuinDying because- well- RuinDying. Bamboozle removes Bubba's one hard counter- windows. BBQ for the same reason as usual.

    Freddy

Blindness add-on because ######### your OOO. STBFL is godly since Freddy's an M1 killer. Surge is really, really helpful too. Then, the BBQ/PGTW combo on Freddy? Basically wins you games by itself.

    Pyramid Head (Daddy Dorito)

RuinUndying because- yeah. Double range add-ons makes your POTD even more deadly than it already is. I'm All Ears because wallhacks which, on a killer who can hit through walls, shouldn't ever- ever- be underestimated. BBQ finally for more points and to know which gens to pressure.

So many RuinDyingBBQ cores; I know I'm really creative.

"sprint burst is very good, iron will because [BAD WORD] you spirit, and ds because [BAD WORD] you tunnelers"

You don't need to come up with a reason to use three of the strongest survivor perks.

    Many players use them.

On Survivor, with the killers i have been getting these days i'm not even ashamed to say i run Unbreakable, DS (aka smol pp), BT and DH.

If i don't get that many tunnelers or sluggers i mostly run Adrenaline, DH, BT, WGLF/Iron Will

On killer side i mainly play Pig and Spirit

    Spirit: Shadowborn, PGTW, BBQ, STBFL

Pig: M&A, Sloppy Butcher, PGTW, BBQ

That Daddy Dorito build is CRUEL... I love it! Im all ears is my fav and probably great for his rites of judgement attack! I'm a fan of undying with Mr. Goopy Blight (only in his aristocrat cosmetic, bc my goodness what a cutie) and using blood favour and haunted ground to make the match more ~spicy~ And thank you for giving the public what they want-- David, shirtless AND showing them calves lol!

  • GoodBoyKaru
    GoodBoyKaru Member Posts: 22,809

Those are my personal reasons as to why I select those perks, however. I don't like to use problematic perk combinations that I hate facing as killer, hence the lack of DS/UB/SG/IW (which, if I wanted to have the strongest perks in the game as possible, I'd have). It's all well and good with other people selecting the perks just because they're strong perks, but I have a legitimate reason for each. Another reason for Sprint Burst over Dead Hard is that it's a very helpful counter to Spirit and Slinger, two killers I absolutely despise, as having lots and lots of distance between you and them is one of the only things you can do against them.

Again, maybe people will just stick on x perk because it's strong, but I do have actual reasons for why I use them.

  • DaKnight
    DaKnight Member Posts: 720

I don't think the beasts mark is worth running on bubba anymore. It's only a 3% movespeed increase which doesn't justify the increase in charge time in my opinion. Double chili or the 4th charge is significantly better. Or the primer bulb since that allows you to shred through pallet loops much faster, since a long loop will take all 3 charges to get rid of the pallet and having them back up in time for the next pallet is incredible.

Impossible skill check Doc is a classic build, adapted from before his re-work. Make sure you use the "calm" addons. With both calm addons your terror radius will reach 54 meters (!). As soon as the match begins walk to the center of the map and let rip with your static blast. Then once you get everyone to madness II hold your static blast to keep your terror radius large and inflict Unnerving on everyone. The classic build has Overcharge instead of Sloppy Butcher but if you're feeling extra spicy try out Coulrophobia.

  • GoodBoyKaru
    GoodBoyKaru Member Posts: 22,809

I just like the increase; it really isn't much I know but it just feels faster.

trust me shirtless david with shorts is one of the few things that makes me happy anymore, i have to post it whenever i can im so gay for him.

  • DaKnight
    DaKnight Member Posts: 720

True but double chili is just insane. I think the last time I tested it's range (using make your choice) I was able to get into MYC range with a full sweep; or over a 32m dash.

I do like your mindbreaker on wraith though, I almost always use that on him and ghostface now and it feels amazing not having people sprint burst off the gens and barely having to worry about dead hard.

  • GoodBoyKaru
    GoodBoyKaru Member Posts: 22,809

its just kinda, a comfort if that makes sense? not really there for practicality, but moreso because i like it.

But Mindbreaker? It's sooooooooooo ######### underrated omg people be hardcore sleeping on this perk!

    my current Survivor Build is:

Iron Will + Kindred + Plunderers Instinct + Ace In The Hole

my Killer Builds differ from Killer to Killer, but there are a few perks i like to run in general:

Pop Goes The Weasel + Discordance is a combo i love using on a lot of killers. i pair it up with two other perks that compliment the killers power, e.g. A Nurses Calling + Sloppy Butcher for stealth based Killers or BBQ & Chili for Killers with high map mobility.

    animalmak Member Posts: 399

It kind of varies between my survivors based on what I have, but I think my favorite build to run is Iron Will, We'll Make It, Balanced Landing, and either Spine Chill or Dark Sense.

When I play killer, all my builds are different because I don't play it as often and don't have loads of perks, but Iron Grasp is a must have in all builds because I hate dealing with the wiggling effects lmao.

I'm still in my first 500 hours trying to unlocks skills to test out various build. This game needs less grind. I'll probably stop playing before I get to a point I'm happy with number of perks.

less grind is not bad. lol

I don't see the point of both NOED and Rancor. A good team will only let you get 1 kill with either of them. My experiences with Rancor is that by the time you are even done with the Mori animation the survivors have opened the door. I use it just to screw with people who have DS'd me earlier but even then I prefer perks that help me never make it to the endgame in the first place and don't use either.

I also don't like NOED with ruin undying. Totem cleansing is meta now and ruin undying gives the team a reason to cleanse all 5 totems before the endgame. NOED by itself is alot stronger in my opinion since nobody has a reason to cleanse totems until they are already hit with it.

    shane32 Member Posts: 383

I main pig and as of now I use ruin, surge, tinkerer and corrupt. With my add ons i like to use double gears, a gear and timer and if i run out of those i just substitute an extra jigsaw box in.

  • Slashstreetboy
    Slashstreetboy Member Posts: 1,811

For Survivor, my usual build is Kindred (solo player) +Iron Will + Borrowed Time + (Dead Hard/WGLF/PTS/UB), pretty standard stuff. For fun times, Pebble and Head On are just the best :D Another fun build I like is Lithe+QnQ+Dance With me, lets you just disappear through the window^^

My standard Myers build is Surge, Corrupt, BBQ and Brutal Strength, works just super well but it´s kinda basic, it´s for relaxed games.

Scratched Mirror, Boyfriends Memo, Haunted Ground, Devour Hope, Noed and Make your Choice on Indoor maps is fun as hell :D

Haven´t run a meme build on Trapper for a while. Surge/Corrupt/Whispers/Stbfl is my golden standard.

Many nice builds mentioned here, and cool recolors @GoodBoyKaru !

Your GF build is pretty good @megswifey. Personally, I propably couldn´t live without Corrupt on him but I guess with Whispers you can make it work :D

Yeah but that's conceding two perk slots in the expectation you will lose the match. I only use NOED on killers I am new to playing, and expect to lose on. Otherwise it's a waste of a perk slot to me. It's a free cheap kill when you lost sure, but as I said I would rather never make it to the endgame.

One of the best killers I have seen did ruin + undying + pop for a while; so he had pop if ruin undying went down too fast. But he eventually stopped since ruin undying was enough of a stall perk for him in the overwhelming majority of games. He moved to discordance or surveillance depending on the killer, and I agree. Ruin undying discordance is a super strong combo and helps you control the gens enough to never make it to endgame or need NOED if you are playing the killer well and applying enough pressure for ruin to do its work.

  • For survivor I use: Borrowed Time, Dead Hard, Aftercare and Desperate Measures.

Aftercare is my favourite perk in the game, there's so much value from using it in solo q.

  • dugman
    dugman Member Posts: 9,713

Hmm, it's different for different killers obviously, but some builds I think are fun to play (not necessarily the most "effective" to play but fun 😄).

I want them to hear me coming

    • Distressing (increases terror radius, bonus to score)
    • Unnerving Presence (skill checks in the terror radius are 60% size and happen more often)
    • Overcharge (after kicking a gen the next survivor need to do a difficult skill check or it explodes and suffers a penalty. Stacks with Unnerving Presence to make the skill check that's needed just slightly larger than a Great skill check, so it's not that easy to hit.)
    • Four perk varies based on what's available, but ones that fit the theme are
      • Coulrophobia (halves healing speed in terror radius)
      • Overwhelming Presence (tools only last half as long in terror radius)
      • Agitation (increases terror radius and you move faster while carrying someone)
      • Hex Huntress Lullaby (reduces and eliminates the sound cue for skill checks)

This is usually a Doctor build, of course, since increasing his terror radius also increases his Static Blast range. I prefer not to use Calm with this personally so that I can use Static Blast freely without losing any terror radius. I've also occasionally used this build on other killers for fun just because I happened to get the first three perks in their bloodwebs. (I think my Trapper still has this build even. 😄)

    I want them to cleanse

    • Hex: Haunted Grounds (Survivors are Exposed for 60 seconds when this hex is cleansed)
    • Hex: Retribution (When a hex is cleansed all survivor auras are visible for 10 seconds. Also if a dull totem is cleansed the survivor is Oblivious)
    • Hex: Thrill of the Hunt (Increases cleansing time, gives sound alerts when they start cleansing)
    • Fill in the blank fourth perk. Sometimes it's a fourth hex, sometimes it isn't. Undying can certainly fit the build, so can any Hex though.

This one is a favorite in the current meta of survivors being hyper focused on cleansing totems. With the way survivors are playing nowadays the Haunted Grounds hex never fails to go off early in the match, it's pretty hilarious. 😄 And because of Retribution I know exactly where the survivors are when that happens (unless they get lucky and happen to cleanse Retribution first, but even then I still know where they are.)

I want them to blind me

    • Lightborn (Immune to flashlights and if someone tries to blind you then you see their aura for 10 seconds)
    • Enduring (Halves time of pallet stuns)
    • Brutal (Destroy pallets twice as quickly)
    • Agitation (Move faster than a survivor while carrying someone)

So this one is a total gimmick but it's always good for a laugh when it works. Basically if anybody tries to flashlight blind you after a pallet stun or pallet drop you will pretty much get a hit 100% of the time since not only aren't you blinded and they aren't running away but you destroy the pallet extremely quickly and, even if they try and juke you somehow, you can see their aura. Likewise when you pick up someone you just downed, if a survivor tries to run in for a flashlight save you can outrun them even while carrying the person and get an easy hit while still being able to hook the person. The Agitation also works well in general against swf members who constantly try and bodyblock you from the hook since you can not only hit the blocker but move that much more quickly to the hook afterward.

There are a lot of perks that work better for some Killers than others, but I find a good universal Killer build would be POP, Surveillance, BBQ (since bloodpoints are life), and Corrupt.

  • Chance4Doom
    Chance4Doom Member Posts: 19

I main Pig, so my build is fit best for her. I usually run Enduring, Bamboozle, Whispers, and BBQ. With Pig, you should usually be running two tracking perks and two chase perks. Pig's best addons are combat straps and video tape, so I run those if I feel the need.

Overall? Kindred, Botany Knowledge, Desperate Measures, Self Care. It's basically the build to keep everyone at full health all the time.

I've also been experimenting with some Slinger builds lately, and I've been enjoying BBQ, Sloppy Butcher, Nurses Calling and Deathbound. A wierder one is Dark Devotion, Trail of Torment, Dragons Grip and Make Your Choice.

Thank you!! Your Myers build is amazing! I considered getting him since his perks are really nice, but I should watch the films first (I haven't seen ANY horror films, I got into the game from a friend and they told me the plots lol!) Ghostie is my best boy, I never give people final hook and I can teabag with them at the gates <3 I need to learn how to use dead hard since I can never figure out how to activate it or I pack it when I get a match with Bubba or Billy

  • megswifey

Dragon's Grip is a lovely perk, isn't it? Blight had a surprising build, I love his personal perks and his power so much. And kindred is my favorite aside from urban, since there's no excuse for not going to the hook!! For the team :)!

Can definately recommend Myers, he´s one of the coolest Killers imo :) I´m sure you will get the hang of Dead Hard in no time!

Go watch the dam movies!! Most are...not so great if you aren´t a fan already, but the classic Halloween, part 2, H20, Halloween 2018 are very good.

Haha glad you are having fun with Ghostie, really like him too :D

On my Felix I run Iron Will, Inner Strength, Sprint Burst and Decisive Strike. Solo survivor at red ranks cause SWF ruins the game to me.

For killer it depends on who I'm playing. I'm a nurse main but have been experimenting with different killers a lot. Right now I'm playing a lot of Legion, favorite build is enduring, spirit fury, pop and BBQ.

When I play Clown I don’t have a specific build, but it’s usually a build built around Coulrophobia and Mangled (either Sloppy Butcher or Sulphuric Vial).

As survivor one build I use a LOT is Bond, Open Handed, Leader, and Botany Knowledge, so I can always be a helpful teammate, get the info I need on chases, heal others fast, be healed fast, and when somebody needs to cleanse or open a gate or chest I wait by them.

  • megswifey
    megswifey Member Posts: 826

I love when I'm doing a gen and hear my teammate just... scream. It always makes me so alert and I'm looking for that violet cloud of tonic at ALL TIMES it's awesome! I had a Clown that slashed me, I ran to a rock and waved at him to look as I used the ghost flashlight and he shook his head yes, downed me, and hit the rock where the ghost was. He was protecting me from the spooky ghost, I miss him <3

For survivor, I've been running Head On + inner strength + WGLF + Kindred (or OoO if i'm in SWF)

on killer I'm more flexible, I'll run anything as long as ive got BBQ

I've fallen into a rut with survivor (solo) where I keep running Self Care + Desperate Measures + Lithe + Kindred. It works well for me, but, whenever I feel like I want to play something more interesting or fun, I end up getting frustrated because I'm used to being able to heal myself or pop through a window to get speed or see where the killer is when someone gets hooked, and suddenly not being able to do that feels awful.

  • JinSime
    JinSime Member Posts: 405

It depends. I usually go with Spine Chill, Bond, Kindred and Open Handed, most of the time. If I want points, I switch OH for WGLF. If I feel the need for better chases I usually switch OH for Balanced Landing and try to do the gens close to somewhere I can get the boost. When I'm with a friend and have a mission to stun the killer, or just wanna have some fun, I switch Kindred and OH for Quick and Quiet and Head On, and normally I don't get out alive, but usually I have some fun.

As for killer, it depends on the killer. But I like to use Whispers a lot.
