Window vaults, Killers hitboxes

Getting hit through a window when your 5 feet through it while fast vaulting with resilience and spine-chill shouldn't hit the survivor. The killer was not even close to me at all and it honestly looked like he lagged to get that hit. I only say this issue because I care about the game a lot and I noticed more issues within this gameplay. Working on hitboxes and window vaults to be more realistic standard would be a good start. One more thing the doctor's shock therapy needs to be reduced to only 2 charges at until it regenerates just like Leatherface's chainsaw. It's not right for the killer to stand there and hold m2 or whatever and getting the survivor to Madness 3 and not hit them. It takes away the whole chase me aspect of the trial. More chasing less shocking even though he has a static blast. I hope you guy's read this over and discuss it because I know this idea would make the game more fair in many ways for both sides.

Weren't latency problems fixed with dedicated servers? That was the plan right?

Yes this is a latency issue. On the killer's screen they are much closer than they appear to the survivor, say 3-4 feet roughly. So they swing at what looks like close range to them but to you the surv's feet have already landed after the vault, and maybe even taken a step or two.

You probably have a good Ping to the Server. You have to keep in mind that the Ping from the Survivor to the Server and from the Killer to the Server is important.

So if you have a decent Ping, Survivors will notice that by not getting hit from far away on their screen. However, if you are Survivor with a decent Ping and the Killer has a high Ping, you will get those strange looking Hits on your end.

So to understand this I'm getting punished for having a better connection than the killer? Damn might as well use my hotspot. Bad connection is the new connection.

So killer will hit you from even bigger distance. Amazing plan, man

Yeah as others have stated there is a bad latentcy problem, but hitboxes still need more fine tuning. Last week I was playing against Bubba on Leary's, and I vaulted a window whilst being chased. Bubba went into a tantrum upon hitting the window with his chainsaw, but it was the tantrum that downed me. Don't know what it looked like on the killer's end, but on my end it was literally window...tantrum...hit.

TBH I've kind of given up on DBD working flawlessly. The devs seem more interested in creating content than fixing their game.

You want low ping as survivor to minimise the delay between yourself and the server. Unfortunately, killers do benefit from having higher ping currently.

Tbh, not really. It is beneficial in terms of hit registration, but bad connection chases are a nightmare since you can't track survs property when they are teleporting here and there. So it works in both ways.

Guys, relax. We have hit validation and 60 tick servers. Kappa

Does Latency make players disappear? Like the server just does not show the killer for a part of the game and then it re-renders/shows them in a new location. Lately I have had numerous instances where on my screen the killer is visible and then when I change my point of view the killer is suddenly somewhere else. I have had numerous occasions where I just lose site of the killer who I am watching, it is like the server just stops showing them and I look all over and then suddenly they are back; and it is not like I am a bad player or don't know how to track their movements.

For instance I had a huntress behind me, she throws a hatchet I turn around a long wall going another direction and she is now in front of me and her hatchet flies by both of us. From my view she is behind me and then just gone and suddenly she is in front of me. This is a case where there is no way and not enough time for her to have gone from one position to another. I suspected cheating but I am now wondering if it is latency.

On the plus side I love that Lobby time has been reduced significantly, I can get into a game in seconds as opposed to several minutes, sometimes in the past it was over twenty minutes to find a game.

Yes, the developers added movement extrapolarisation with dedicated servers.

Basically your client tries to predict the future, by assuming a player keeps running in a direction until the server sends a different input. So if for example a player runs north, loses connection, turns around on their machine, and then reconnects to servers, on everyone else's machine they keep running north and then suddendly teleports back 20 metres south.

However a player cant gain distance with lagswitching like that, only confuse other players. Because you always get teleported back to the spot where you lost connection. If you see someone gain speed with lags, thats in ~90% of the cases hacking (dedicated servers are not perfect, the possibility of desync is always there).

This is what I’ve always said, why am I penalised for someone having bad connection that’s not my problem, it’s up to them to get better internet,

I went against a bubba a few days ago and he stood still everytime before chasing someone for like 5ish seconds then the lag was unbearable. Most the team dc'd. I was so confused. I dont get what happened

I like the real world physics comment that someone stated earlier. That would be nice to have in the game. The killer must actually make contact.

Dbd should go back to player to player connection. Imagine aka me Hero playing in Canada and getting some player from China like that’s not right lol. Canada and China are not even close to each other. I think the Devs shouldn’t go through with this new UI and animations because it’s gonna ruin the game. I mean yeah it looks cool but where this game is it they need to work on the actual bugs in the game and read people’s forums and see which bug or issue people are having the most on and fix it. I didn’t buy a DBD blanket and other stuff for nothing lol. I like this game and I want it to succeed not to fail over time. I mean I’ll come work for y’all and give u guys help lol. It may boost my YouTube channel more if I do haha. If y’all like No0b3 than u might like me. Canadians are funny eh?

On top of that, killers always seem to hit me after the swing animation/during the last frame of it. Can ANYONE explain why?

Hitboxes are all about the ping you have
