Ignorance in arguments
Some people on this forum are fairly ignorant of how society works. I am tired of people stating their problems and then promptly discredited or insulted on theae forums and not only that, but if you advocate or oppose ANYTHING you are entitled, bad at the game, stupid, white knight and among other things. It is CHILDISH and people should grow up, yea killers with little to no counterplay is boring, doesnt mean I want that killer gutted or easy wins. I think gen speeds are too fast and swf can be stressful, but I am not entitled or think swf should be gone. OPINIONS EXIST and you guys need to except that and quit arguing like kids, not everyone mind you guys who aren't like this. This game is toxic because of the players not the devs or mods or the bad mechanics and once people realize that and act their age, then we can fix this community.

I'm....not sure what else to say here. I just kind of wanted to make The Joker...er....joke.

Good, very good.

That's why I don't argue, almost got into an argument in another thread about an opinion I had so I just decided to nope out after explaining my opinion, what worries me more right now is the weirdly sexual comments in this community. Reminds me of Tumblr when the true crime community turned into people romanticising serial killers.
1 -
UUh wow. Also what "sexual" comments

It's mostly on Tumblr I see them or wattpad, there are so many cringe worthy fan fictions of the killers. Or fan art, it's quite worrying that people somehow think a killer that hacks people and hooks them till a spider creature takes them is sexy...

I can attest to this. I made a post on DS a few days ago and some of the responses were questionable. To thr point were I determined they didn't read what I had to say at all and misinterpreted it. It seem like DS is a taboo topic.

There are certain users that spew the same old tropes in the same old topics.
You'll quickly learn to identify them and disregard their posts.
1 -
Only if you look at the subjects logically
1 -
Hell I'm relatively new compared to some veterans like azame and Orion and them but even I can spot the repeating posts that just add gas to the fire. People refuse to look at things logically for the most part

Yeah its weirs

By the way you wrote this thread...I think you should calm down too.

I like posting idea's and when it comes to arguments i find that the two most common reasons players disagree is either the lack of being able to imagine how that idea works in practice so they draw weird or unlikely conclusions or they are biased. edit: of course some ideas are also just bad or biased themselves.
wraith idea: make it so wraith is completely invisible outside 16-24 meters of a survivors
argument: Makes wraith too easy he is a good killer, makes him get hits too easily??? (reality wraith is weak in any outdoor setting and this helps him in that while not affecting interactions when you don't have a long line of sight like in a jungle gym, in a building, or indoor map. he also wouldn't get free hits too much unless you go against some really oblivious survivors.)
OoO: perk is too strong and needs a rework, most arguments to any rework idea is this
argument:OoO is only problematic in swf so they need to nerf it to include that (never will happen), 2# the perk is fine and actually a hindrance to the one using it or its strength is exaggerated and good killers can deal with it (true in solo not swf because the user doesn't mind dying to let the team win also the strength of the perk in a swf is completely related to the users ability to give info), new OoO rework is too weak to the current OoO (literally the point because OoO is OP).
any meta perk idea
argument: mostly complete biased arguments same goes for whatever change was presented to the perk which either doesn't affect it or nerfs it too much so it no longer does what its supposed to do. there are always some good or decent ideas but biased players will still argue because they don't want the perk changed.

Sometimes it's better not to bother. But different opinions exist and that's good.
On some topics the facts are pretty clear tho. That are the ones where i usually drop he discussion.

Eh I wrote this actually from a calm place and got worked up while writing it. But in all honesty, I was calm as could be if I remember correctly.

What I noticed is survivors usually agree with killers even when they are constantly insulted
0 -
Yeah but "fact" on this forum come from experience and hearsay. Ds and unbreakable is uncounterable and then they list all the way it is. Meanwhile I can analyze a whole game and explain why it's not a big deal until a whole coordinated team uses it or has a few people use it. And when you look at things with logic you can find the facts, but people flip out because they are ran by the fear of survivors having any way to negate a killers power

I cant tell if you agree or just want to meme. Either way that cat meme is amazing.

You didn't represent that very well in the thread lol.

Yeah my personality is very forward and abrasive

You might as well be speaking into the abyss as this isn’t an issue with this forum, it’s an issue with people in general. It’s something that’ll never change.

Well people make up this forum

I'm sorry im trying my best here :(

Yeah I know exactly what you’re talking about, and it’s highly concerning and creepy.

I try not to argue because it make sme anxious and I don't want to be called entitled for saying that I hate getting camped and tunneled, so I stay out of it. Also, about the romance stuff, as long as it stays in your head I don't care-- Hybristophilia is very real, and I'd rather people stay in their fantasy with fictional characters than actual criminals. Also, Huntress is big mommy gf I will never not love her.
1 -
They do? Didn’t realise that. /s
Like I said, it’s something that’ll never change. You just have to learn to let it not bother you.
1 -
Eh its just annoying

It's huge in horror and crime communities. It's very sickening, I play this game to enjoy it not think of the characters in sexual ways, same with slasher movies, I don't wanna see fan art of Jason with nothing on.

Most discussions end with insults cause one side or both can't seem to find common sense or logic
Like... yea having 2-3 matches with survivors wanting you to feel (a type of way) doesn't mean that all survivors are like this
And the opposite is true as well
I feel ya on this and I will carry on now
Also... I would've said discussions in the title (now that I've read it all)

just like big murder mommy's hatchets as they fly into my skull <3

This is not so much an issue with the dbd community as it is a psychological problem, and not only with particular groups but as a whole - about the whole world has shifted away from the apology/acceptance mindset into a more battle oriented defensive/offensive mindset. Maybe this has to do with the internets growth itself, where you have more opinions being shared around the world than ever before in human history, not to mention in such HIGH SPEED where opinions lead to decisions lead to change lead to worldview lead to common perception lead to this and that etc etc etc. The only way to compete in a world, psychologically, when your opinion is instantly put up to battle against thousands of other opinions on a daily basis is to be aggressive and if you're NOT aggressive or more kind/soft/empathic, you will get trampled.
Ideally we should live in a world where if you share an opinion with me, my goal is to understand where you're coming from, then meet you with my own perception and you SHOULD also see where i'm coming from when i start talking to you, we both admit 'aha, this is where we got offtrack" and then realize that when you really break it down, we both want the same/similar things, but see things differently from our own unique perspectives, then we can come to understanding and acceptance. However, in todays world, if you admit that you're wrong about something, its like you're discrediting yourself entirely - and everyone who agrees with you - and you wind up getting hurt for your moment of vulnerability. Our empathy often isn't met with empathy and what people learn from this (in their psychological development) is that if you want to not-get-hurt, don't open yourself up to people.
Too often you can even prove someone wrong entirely about something, using just logic, but the danger of admitting you're wrong in todays internet-world is so great - and your identity is in so much danger - that you'd have no choice but to keep to your opinion even if its entirely illogical, just to be 'safe'.
Anyway this reply turned out to be much longer than I intended, but I see your point.
